Whoever have watched this movie, have probably seen how this movie failed to amuse many viewers, especially in Indonesia. There are a lot of aspects that is wrong from details, place, and even the actor themselves. Don't waste your time watching this movie as this movie is not even close to horror movie. In fact, is this even a horror movie? Does it even worth calling this a horror movie since the plot changes dramatically from the background of weird, magic child. Into a movie full of forced plot and weird characterization? The answer is yes, this is not even a horror movie. Why? Hear this out
This movie could stand out a little by fixing how the atmosphere changes, fixing the antagonist of the story and not just, some cheap urban legends that has been foretold from years to years--and it still fails! In fact, the presence of horror is lacking and need to be refined a few more. Compared from the first one, this one literally stands a little bit. But still less scary and not even can be called out as a horror movie.
The story itself was a big disaster. Plot was confusing that there were no resolution point that was intact and doesn't even makes sense to the ending. Why would they force something like that into the ups and down of the movie? It doesn't makes sense and make the story into a dull, boring, and unsatisfying.
Little respect for the effect of the show--even though it's only used for less. That seemingly after they add this little effect on the last quarter half of the show, they ran out of budget. But that simple effect was smooth and perfect. If they could made those simple effect were that perfect, why would they can't even lift the story?
There were a lot of unnecessary scene in this movie, in fact, would be better if it was deleted. Because it doesn't makes sense at all and why would they put it on the movie? The scene were Ega seemingly taken an interest in Riana, the love of Anna for Ega that doesn't make any impact on the story, and of course low quality and predictable jumpscare that doesn't even worth. In fact, why do they even add those jumpscare? Doesn't even scary and predictable at those time.
The props were not really that much and overall it's good. But sadly, the lack of people playing in this movie making the prop is just not right
Overall. This movie is a big disaster. For the rewatch parameter, I'd recommend to play something else, like Danur, or Pengabdi Setan
