The game was originally teased at E3 in 2010 and to released in 2011as a first-person shooter simply titled XCOM, however as development went on the first-person perspective was scrapped for a third-person perspective with added squad-based machinacs, while keeping alot of characters, locations, and enemy types teased in the original first-person shooter build.

Love X-Com games, and really like the 1950s stye

Hay i loved the The Bureau - XCOM Declassified since it fist came out 8 years ago i played it, but it was to much for my p.c. At the time.

I liked the first person shooter style as something different in the xcom Universe.

Back in 2013 when The Bureau - XCOM Declassified came out there was also a great t.v series that i think they may have got idea's for the game from called

Dark Skies - 1996

it's like x-files set in the 1950s.

Anyway i think they both complement each other very well.

I myself first started playing Xcom back when i was 19 back in 1995 when Terror from the deep first came out.

I think i was useing a 486 DX266 at the time lol.

Anyway i loved the detail they put into a 1950s style xcom and it shows how they could do something so radically different.
