The production caught me by surprise. This was a dramatic and realistic weaving of tales around foster care youth and the risks they encountered to shed light onto what "at-risk" behaviors result from trauma, violence, social anxiety, depression, and many other dimensions of mental, physical, and spiritual health.
The whole experience of the movie is actually worth writing home about. Our emerging generation (I'm 29 and I'm "old", apparently) has to have tremendous courage, for our civilization is on the brink of an era of information and specialization... yet inextricably with that we have so much misinformation and it becomes increasingly challenging to be 'special'. The hope lies with the strength of spirit our youth develop when they become coaches, teachers, counselors, mentors, advisers, etc.
This movie has not only my cinematic aesthetics nod of approval... it deflects most scrutiny because it gets my respect. Props to those involved. Would recommend.
