This is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. I saw this on the Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu Ray box set and I've watched it many, many times. This is a must see for any Star Wars fan.
You probably think that watching people train for a parade would be boring, but not when it's Star Wars related. We see people over the world from the US, the UK, Spain, Belgium, Japan, Mexico and others.
We see an interview with each Stormtrooper as they explain their job, their love for Star Wars and how they made their costume.
I even got teary when one of the 501st explained that his son who was diagnosed with Leukemia used Star Wars to deal with it. His dad sent a letter to the 501st and they made a action figure modeled after him. "My son is an action figure." You might need a box of tissues for this scene.
Anyway, they all get to Pasadena to train marching for the parade. Trained by actual drill sergeants. There's only 4 days to go until the parade. When New Year's comes along, the Stormtroopers either go to bed or stay up for the New Year. My favourite are the Belgian guys. They're crazy. "We're staying up all night cos we're Belgian."
The doc gets really exciting when there's only a few hours to go until the parade and when they do the parade, you feel happy for the participants.
I watched this doc over and over and I will watch it again. I think I'll do that right now.
