Producer Stacey Sher says The Devil In The White City, the Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio project thought to be in development hell, is still happening.
It’s well over a decade since Leonardo DiCaprio picked up the film rights for author Erik Larsson’s non-fiction book, The Devil In The White City, but an adaptation of it is still alive and well. That’s according to producer Stacey Sher, who says that both DiCaprio and filmmaker Martin Scorsese are still involved in the project in some capacity.
First published in 2003, The Devil In The White City is part history, part crime thriller, taking in the creation of the Chicago World’s Fair and the exploits of murderer Hh Holmes, who killed a number of people in Chicago as the expo took place in the 1890s. Its sprawling period detail would be expensive to realise in a film or TV production,...

Way back in February 2022, it was reported that Supermassive Games had registered several new trademarks for what appeared to be new entries as part of the second season of The Dark Pictures Anthology. Now the developer is teasing what appears to be the potential reveal of the new season at this year’s Gamescom.
Supermassive released a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter) of an image of space above a planet, with the text “we hear gamescom will be out of this world”. Now for non-fans of the series, that would get them thinking of Supermassive teasing a brand-new IP. However, given that Supermassive had shown Directive 8020 as a teaser at the conclusion of The Devil in Me, there’s a strong possibility that this is what the post is referring to.
Of course, we could all be wrong on this, and Supermassive could be working on a new horror project,...

Five months after it arrived on the Nintendo Switch, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan will finally have some company. Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco has announced that the second entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology in Little Hope will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on October 5 via the Nintendo eShop.
Originally released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One back in 2020, Little Hope (which we reviewed here) centres on a college class whose bus is diverted through the town of Little Hope due to bad weather. Things take a turn for the worse when their bus crashes, and they appear from the wreckage relatively unscathed.
As the group explores the seemingly abandoned town of Little Hope, they become trapped by a mysterious impenetrable fog. Searching for a means of escape, they start to encounter visions of the past that haunt them from the shadows.

Supermassive Games is diving once again into horror with its upcoming project, which will no doubt please fans of their recent efforts in The Quarry, and in the ongoing The Dark Pictures Anthology.
Speaking with Video Games Chronicle, Supermassive Games studio director Will Byles stated that the team’s next horror project will be about the same scale as The Quarry, with a targeted release of 2025 or 2026. “We’ve started working on [the next game]. I can’t really tell you very much at all about it, but we have started. Again, it’s the same sort of horror genre, we’re sticking to that. It’s equivalent in size to The Quarry… and that’s about as much as I can say without giving too much away.”
Byles did allude to what can be seen as a departure from what Supermassive Games had done with their horror games in the past. “I...

Supermassive Games has recently announced that the latest entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me will be released on November 18, 2022. In addition to the recent announcement, I had the chance to preview some gameplay footage, as well as hear from Game Director, Tom Heaton, about the inspirations and influences that impacted the development of the game. Referred to as “the season one finale of the anthology”, The Devil in Me already looks to be an amalgamation of lessons learned from previous entries in the anthology and feedback from its playerbase, and the preview has left me eager to dive back into The Dark Pictures come November.
The premise this time around isn’t focused so much on a specific event in history or mythology, but draws inspiration upon a specific historic figure: H.H. Holmes. For those unfamiliar, Holmes is one of the most notorious serial killers in modern history,...

While we won’t be getting a new entry for The Dark Pictures Anthology released in time for Halloween this year, November seems just as good. Bandai Namco also dropped a new trailer for The Devil In Me, touting some of the entry’s new features. Those include two requested multiplayer modes being brought back for the game: the ability to share your story online with a friend, and the offline 5-player pass-the-pad mode.

It’s been two years since Greg A. Sager made his directorial debut with The Devil in Me (aka Devil Seed), a slice of demonic Canadian terror that made my Top 10 films of the year list and I’ve been eagerly awaiting his follow up ever since. Well now the wait is over as Kingdom Come, another superb supernatural horror from the Great White North, hits DVD and VOD across North America.
Starting out in a similar vein to the original Saw movie, Kingdom Come sees a group of strangers wake up disoriented in a seemingly abandoned hospital. However unlike that franchise, this group of strangers soon find themselves being stalked by a supernatural force with sinister intentions.

Greg A. Sager was the director of possession thriller Devil Seed. Devil Seed was a rehash of several Exorcist tropes, which was not well received by this critic. However, everyone loves a comeback. And, Sager is returning to horror with his next title, Kingdom Come. Kingdom Come is a mysterious story. Several strangers find themselves trapped in a mental health hospital, after being abducted. While gathering their wits, they are assaulted by all manners of demons and ghostly entities. Why were they chosen and more importantly, how will they escape? The first trailer for Kingdom Come was released late last month. This film fan missed the debut of this clip and other horror fans might have missed it, too. The official trailer for the film is here, for fans of the supernatural. Release Date: March 17, 2014. Director: Greg A. Sager. Writer: Geoff Hart, Greg A. Sager and A. Jaye Williams. Well here it is. After hinting at some of the films on Twitter and promising that this will be unlike any top ten you see this year, I’ve finally compiled my Top 10 films of 2012. However, I originally compiled my list before seeing Pitch Perfect, which I felt Had to be included in this list; therefore my choices for ninth and tenth film on the list now share tenth place.
I’ve also included a hell of a lot of honorable mentions (enough to take this up to a Top 25 if I had included them all), three of which are short films. Three short films which happen to be the best I’ve seen in years and give some of the feature-length films released this year a run for their money. Consider everything on this list a recommendation of the highest order…

Director: Greg A. Sager. Writers: Geoff Hart and Greg A. Sager. Cast: Michelle Argyris, Shantelle Canzanese, Vanessa Broze, Kevin Jake Walker and Wayne Conroy. There have been a number of possession styled thrillers released since 1973's groundbreaking The Exorcist. The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005), Drag Me to Hell (2009), The Last Exorcism (2010) and recently The Devil Inside (2012) come to mind. Devil Seed does nothing to improve this genre. Devil Seed, much like its former name The Devil Inside Me, does not set itself apart from exorcism films of the past. Worse, this supposed horror tale does little to create tension nor scares. The story has been written many times before. A young woman enters a haunted locale. Here, she is raped by a demonic figure, possibly Satan. She becomes pregnant with the unclean while tormenting her two roommates: Breanne (Vanessa Broze) and Jessica (Shantelle Canzanese). Even her boyfriend, Brian (Kevin Jake Walker...

I’ll admit it, when I saw the original synopsis for The Devil In Me (which is also known as Devil Seed, which tells you a lot more about what happens in the movie than the UK title) I thought it was merely a knock-off of The Devil Inside and the similar “possession” flicks that have been flooding the market recently. However now having sat down and watched the movie my opinion has completely changed… Yes, The Devil in Me is yet another film about possession, but it stands head and shoulders above its competition thanks to a superb performance by Michelle Argyris as Alex – the young student undergoing the supernatural torture – and some fantastic creepy imagery from director Greg A.
