Just like with another Netflix series "Safe", "Muted" has a promising beginning, keeps your attention throughout all 6 episodes (though not everything makes sense) - suspense is high, acting is great, so you naturally expect some really clever culmination...just to get disappointed in the end. So many question remain unanswered. If his Mother was a saint, why the observation room? What about the experimental medicine? What was it about the older guy who the policeman was meeting in secret places? They really messed up Noa character-nothing makes sense about her. What about his aunt and grandparents? Why were they brought into the play? I can continue with 10 more whys.. Still, the series are so different from the modern day Hollywood productions, so I don't regret watching it.

It's not what it looks like. The beginning is not indicative of the rest of the show. I agree with another reviewer who said they stretched it out too far. And the character of the shrink was so unbelievable, it's hard to look past it. Seriously, it cannot be overstated - that character is just unreal. No adult would make those decisions.
The acting is ok. Not terrible, not great. The story line is just convoluted. This is a good show to have on while you do other things. After watching the first episode, get the laundry done, clean your kitchen, and check back every once in a while. Be back for the final episode, and you won't have missed anything.

Tv-show is called muted and the premise is that the main character hasn´t spoken to anyone in six years since he killes his parents. But in fact he speaks to everyone except some people in the police and law department. This pretty much ruins thew whole premise of the movie and it never gets any better. A really boring main actor who just looks like he is misplaced in every scene he is in. Surronded with a few more b- actors/actresses makes this a snooze fest and except for the first 10 minutes when the murder is committed there is just nothing engaging about it. You never feel sorry for the main actor in any scene, you just feels he is pathetic and weird. I won´t spoil the ending but come on, really???? Number one stupidiest tv-show this year.

No pun intended - the show may be a bit too long, but it has something to say too. And while I reckon it could have been said a lot earlier ... the movie has punches and it does not hold them back. If an individual is broken, it may need a lot to heal. How deep is the truth buried? Or is it buried at all? Things to know and things to find out.
And if you have an individual that is out to try to help you (for reasons that are slowly revealed with some twists waiting until later) ... well it helps. Though you will have others who will try everything to keep things hidden ... their agenda? Well you have to watch to find out ... I would argue not everything makes sense and some things are made more difficult to make this seem more complex than it is in the end ... but it's still an interesting show to watch ... if you are into crime and whodunit and all that stuff ... Not so silent after all ...

I don't often leave really bad reviews, but I hated it. Like really hated it. Some people called it a crime thriller, but I just thought the story was surreal, progressed slowly, the end made no sense at all. Well, the only sense it made is that the makers want to do a season 2, but it won't be for me. While he's just smashing things or people for the whole series, his little naive fling girlfriend keeps on spinning between him and the other guy (who is a complete moron) and the psychiatrist is just perverted. Then there's a bunch of bad guys around, but you never really know why and they don't add anything to the story. My advice: watch something else.

Why would anybody with the kind of power shown in the first episode spend that kind of money to track just one person that stayed in prison for such a short time for such a horrible crime?
That crucial question was not explained by anyone, thus rendering the entire show a moot point.
The people watching "Sergio" are MORE disturbed than Sergio, whose reason for the crime was explained in less than one sentence and did not make sense.
The show reason for being has not been explained adequately yet, the movie expects to raise the tension of the show with diversion that also have no reason for being because they have no relation to what the producers think is the central theme (that gas not been explained.
The show is what is called "a self eating watermelon."

A lot of the reviews seem to be quite negative, but tbh I didn't think it was that bad.
Yes, some aspects may seem unrealistic and yes some decisions were questionable, but I think Aron Piper's acting was good enough to get you through it.
Through the series I think the plot and the twists we were presented with were pretty good at keeping you guessing as to what was happening. Though it wasn't revolutionary or anything, I enjoyed it . The ending was something I actually didn't mind which may be controversial. This whole review may be controversial by the looks of it.
Overall though it was decent and I'd say you should give it a go if you're into the genre.

The falling bodies onto the streets and roofs of cars caught my attention from the trailer and the first episode did get off with a good start. As the detective unravels the crime scene by describing the events that took place, that was quite good.
But then the show begins to stall by episode 2 and it doesn't pick up again until the last episode. Episodes 2 through 5 feel more like filler material and my attention began to give out on this show. They could have cut out huge chunks of this film and made it more interesting. I think it had enough material for a 90-minute movie. But a 6-episode limited run series, I don't think they had enough story material.

Bruh... all these comments here saying that everything is so unreal because that thing can never happen in real life. Guys it is not about reality, it is a f... series on Netflix 🤣 there is no need to ask why would someone follow a guy like him, why would government invest in such an investigation. Why are you not saying as well that Game of Thrones is not realistic because they are riding horses and in 2016 there could drive cars.... yes, the show it's not the best, but these are not proper reason. I think that I am a little bit too old to be attracted by the bad guy and to find myself in the story of Marta switching between boys, but I am sure that for a teenager who's looking for something suspenseful it is a great series. There is no need for a tv show/movie to contain dragons to be fictional. Get over all those questions.

The opening scene of this show is the only scene worth watching. I can't believe the time I wasted watching this absolute garbage, but I kept thinking surely it can't be this bad and will get better. It didn't.
The premise is absolutely ridiculous with all the cameras, the amount of people watching, etc., and lengthwise what should have been a 2-hour movie is painfully dragged out into a 6-part series. Awful. I don't think I've ever seen a worse show. The ending scenes with the supposedly professional doctor/investigator are so uncomfortable and cringeworthy you want to hide your eyes. The final ending of the show is very unsatisfactory and really brings no resolution or closure, except to make you question your own intelligence for spending so much time on such ridiculous television.

Honestly, I was thinking between 6 and 7 but I saw many negative reviews. The show was not so bad if you do not care about everything being realistic. For me, the psychological part was interesting because every character was different, and some of them were truly interesting. Nevertheless, some parts were completely unnecessary and the show could have 4 ep instead of 6. Some characters did not have "time to shine" while others were just boring... I hope there will not be season 2 because that would be a complete mistake. The show ended in a way that you could understand and all was said and done with those last 15 minutes of the last episode.

I REALLY wanted to like this! I began watching with no expectations, or preconceived notions; other than I usually love foreign, suspense, thrillers and the topic seemed riveting. The first episode was EXCITING and unexpected. But now (and I am 3.5 episodes in) and I am dying a SLOW death of a thousand turtles! I'm not sure if it's the translation, the captions, or what, but even the dialogue is BORINGGGGGG! Perhaps I need to watch it in Spanish. (Maybe THAT will give a different vibe to the show). But, like I stated, I really wanted to like this, but I cannot recommend this, UNLESS you are looking for something to help you sleep. If so, just start at the second episode, and you will have NO problem.
Intriguing story that is told in just the right way to keep you watching. Piece by piece the final plot is revealed. Acting of especially the main character Sergio is great. I like the photography, nothing spectacular, but professional craftsmanship. Yes, the story has some plot holes and things that aren't realistic. The whole story is far from realistic. That's why it's a fictional story, so for me not a problem, unless it becomes plain stupid, which is not the case here. This is less a thriller than it is psychological drama evolving around giftedness, corruption, acceptance, being different and crime. Be prepared for an ending that is unexpected, as well as dramatic. Some questions remain unanswered, leaving room for a second series.
Well done and - contrary to other reviews - definitely recommended.

Inspired by a real life case. In a prosperous suburb of Paris, almost an entire family were murdered. The only two survivors were the adolescent son and a small baby. The boy confessed having committed the murders. It was a kind of "Amityville" in Louveciennes The murdered father was a Russian businessman, with a perfectly normal family. It sounds like a Russian Mafia or Secret Service operation to get rid of a liability. Something that the Russians excel at. Muted takes things down a conspiracy trail even stranger than Russian Gangsters or the Secret Service being responsible. Secret surveillance. Mind control. Pharmaceutical companies being involved. Many twists and turns with secrets revealed. On Netflix 7/10.
