The film was permanently banned in France in 2022.
The idea for doing an anthology film on the character of Nurse Meow was suggested by Lloyd Kaufman.
The previous world record holder of most banned film was Cannibal Ferox which was distributed by Vipco Ltd and Calling Nurse Meow beat the record for the first time in nearly 40 years but Calling Nurse Meow is also distributed by Vipco Ltd.
The film has been banned in 40 countries.
