Before returning to the Wasteland with Fury Road after three decades, George Miller embarked into the realm of animation to kickstart another IP, mainly geared towards children. Interestingly, Happy Feet became the first entry in his filmography to make Miller a recipient of an Oscar, and the director has been vocal about his adoration for the franchise.

However, it has been just crickets since Happy Feet Two‘s release, which was seen as a step down from the original release, and as for the franchise’s future, it doesn’t seem Miller is going to revisit the IP anytime soon.

A Chinese trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine was released yesterday and, seeing as it appeared to be identical to the English language version, we included it at the bottom of this spoiler-filled article.

The remake of Epic Mickey called Epic Mickey Rebrushed will finally be released this fall on various platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (via Steam) on September 24, 2024.

The game is made by Tq Nordic and Purple Lamp Studio and will cost $59.99.

Those who have digital pre-orders for the game will get 24 hours of early access staring on September 23 and downloadable “Costume Pack” featuring “Steamboat Willie, “Brave Little Tailor,” and “Football” costumes for Mickey Mouse.

If you do not buy early digital access, you can still purchase the “Costume Pack” for $4.99.

The game is available for preorder on Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and GameStop.

Following the overwhelming success of the Fallout series on Prime Video, many fans thought Bethesda would speed up the development of the next main game in the franchise. Unfortunately, this was dismissed in a recent interview with Todd Howard, where he talked about the future of these games and how the company is handling them.

Fallout: New Vegas was released in 2010, following the release of Fallout 3 in 2008. In such a small time gap, Obsidian, the studio behind Fallout: New Vegas was only given 18 months to work on the game and finish it.

George Miller’s Mad Max franchise is one of the most revered action franchises of all time. After it spun out the Tom Hardy-starrer Oscar-winning Mad Max: Fury Road, all we got is a prequel about the character Furiosa. Starring Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy, two immensely popular actors, the movie made its debut with rave reviews but has been struggling at the box office.

While even fans described the film as incredible to watch, the movie failing to live up to its expectations at the box office can be attributed to one Star Wars movie. Solo: A Star Wars Story was a bomb at the box office despite being based on one of the best fictional characters of all time. And while the two franchises share little similarity, the fate of Solo seems to predict that Furiosa was deemed to fail.

Miller and Nico Lathouris wrote the scripts for both The Wasteland and Furiosa as part of the development process of Mad Max: Fury Road, the 2015 Warner Bros. film that became a surprise awards season juggernaut, winning six Oscars, and which became an instant action classic. For 18 years and 148 minutes of runtime, Furiosa simply wants to go home. This primal, human need is a universal motivation, and it takes on mythic proportions in a movie where audiences know that quest is doomed. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is of course being marketed as an “odyssey;” an epic about the formative years of the most badass character to ever cross the Wasteland. Yet because you should remember that the Green Place is long destroyed by the time Mad Max: Fury Road rolls along, this film and Anya Taylor-Joy’s characterization of this woman at its heart is haunted by an air of futility.

… Which makes the unexpectedly hopeful ending all the more beautiful as we discover what exactly Furiosa does beneath a tree with the man who took everything from her.

Lady and gentlemens, the great George Miller has returned with another Wasteland tale! Listen to his words carefully! The prequel to the Aussie post-apocalyptic action spectacle Mad Max: Fury Road has pulled up into theaters. While Fury Road gave enough of a background on Charlize Theron’s character to get us behind her as a protagonist, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is Miller’s attempt to expand on it even further with a larger scope than the series has seen before.

Reviews for Furiosa have been positive, with a certified fresh critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes with an 89% and an audience score of 93%. Our own Chris Bumbray raved in his review, “Miller’s made this a tactile, visceral experience that drives home the point that at seventy-nine, he’s still a master of his craft and making movies directors forty years his junior wouldn’t have the energy or skill to tackle.

Furiosa: A Max Max Saga had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, nearly a decade after the debut of Mad Max: Fury Road at the same festival. The first reviews for Furiosa have begun pouring in, and while they’re just as full of praise as those first reactions, it doesn’t sound like it reaches the heights of Fury Road.

Variety‘s Owen Gleiberman said that while Furiosa contains “a handful of awesome action moments,” the action doesn’t take center stage in the same way it did in Fury Road. “The most important thing to say about ‘Furiosa,’ however, is that what it all adds up to is a movie that can be darkly bedazzling, and that will be embraced and defended in a dozen passionate ways — but it’s one that, to me, falls very short of being a ‘Mad Max’ home run,” Gleiberman wrote.

She is watchful, wary, able to ward off Wasteland degenerates and War Boys alike with a well-aimed headshot. She’s a survivor, a scrapper, someone who makes a compelling case for smeared axle grease as a postapocalyptic fashion statement. You need someone to do repair work on a War Rig going 99 mph on a run to Bullettown? She’s your go-to. One day, she will rescue a harem of “wives” held captive by a psychotic madman, and meet a slightly less mad man named Max. For the moment, however, the...

Since their beginnings in 1979, George Miller’s hyper-jacked Mad Max movies with Mel Gibson had not received a single Oscar nomination, not even for Tina Turner’s great signature song “We Don’t Need Another Hero” in 1985’s Beyond Thunderdome. But then, 30 years later, when finally the fourth and Gibson-less edition appeared, the snooty Academy got on board and gave the newly regenerated Mad Max: Fury Road 10 nominations including for Best Picture and Director. It won six of them, virtually sweeping the crafts categories.

Nine years later comes a prequel, Furosia: A Mad Max Saga, and Miller, now seemingly ageless at 79 (he was 34 when the first one came out) has perhaps given birth to the greatest Max yet, a wheels-up, rock-and-rolling epic that delivers the origin story of the title character Charlize Theron picked up in Fury Road when she was about 26.

That movie only covered about three days total.

Despite Fallout taking place in the aftermath of a nuclear war, it’s truly not the end of the world for the Prime Video series, which has many miles to go.

Fans of video games are fanatics about how faithfully adapted into movies and series, and according to Fallout executive producer Geneva Robertson-Dworet, speaking recently during an interview with cast and creatives at Deadline Studio at Prime Experience, “there is so much we had to leave behind” in Season 1. “[There’s] potentially thousands of hours of gameplay; we have eight hours to tell our story.”

With a Season 2 order under its belt, as well as becoming the most watched Amazon Prime series launch ever per Nielsen with 2.9 billion minutes viewed, Robertson-Dworet says they’ll now “be able to get to so much more that we love about the Fallout world.”

Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth are ready to “make it epic” when Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga barrels into cinemas on May 24, 2024! As tickets for the full-throttle prequel become available for pre-order, the final Furiosa trailer explodes onto screens with action, drama, and one particular shot that now makes me curious about an element of the film. I’m talking about the shot of the CGI-enhanced War Boy.

My knee-jerk reaction to the CGI-enhanced War Boy is one of apprehension. How large of a role does this character play in the film, and will their cartoonishness offset an otherwise incredible-looking film? I hope not. One of the more thrilling elements of Miller’s Mad Max series is the visual spectacle, and I worry the CGI-enhanced War Boy could be an “arrow to the knee.” I could be entirely off base, and I’m simply being paranoid for no good reason.

The time has come for audiences to start witnessing George Miller’s newest action epic to see if it takes them to Valhalla or leaves them scrounging for food in the desert. The latest installment of the Mad Max saga spins off from Mad Max: Fury Road and sees Anya Taylor-Joy taking up the role from Charlize Theron. It had recently been confirmed that Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will also be the franchise’s longest film, with the Cannes Film Festival website confirming its 2 hour and 28 minute runtime. While that means the film is significantly longer (by a half hour) than Fury Road, it’s worth noting that this prequel tells a truly epic tale that takes place over decades. Fury Road only took place over two days.

Recently, the franchise received a live-action TV adaptation, which has been met with generally favorable reviews, sighing relief to the dubious fan base.

A plethora of interesting Easter eggs have been hidden in the latest TV show, which could easily blow fans’ minds. Fans on the internet are still busy finding more of them. The world they knew remained wasted as they left it in the video games. Bethesda appears to have pulled it straight out of them for the American TV series.

Fans Aren’t Happy About Todd Howard Overshadowing Original Creators

Todd Howard has been overseeing the games’ development since Fallout 3.

As good as the franchise is, Bethesda should be praised for having purchased it.

Walton Goggins, in a gruesome starring role in Prime Video’s apocalyptic sci-fi series Fallout, said he knew he knew he was in for “an intense experience” having to transform every day on set into The Ghoul, a post-human character with melting flesh, a cowboy persona and some semblance of his humanity still left.

The fan-favorite post-apocalyptic video game series Fallout is the most prominent it has ever been, with an ambitious live-action television adaptation coming to Prime Video while publisher Bethesda SoftWorks continues to guide the games moving forward.

However, while Bethesda brought Fallout to new heights in 2008 with Fallout 3, the action RPG franchise goes back further by over a decade. Following Bethesda’s acquisition of the Fallout franchise, major changes were instituted that bristled purist fans of the initial games in the series for the alterations to gameplay and presentation.

Here is how Fallout began in 1997 before it was acquired by Bethesda in 2004 and eventually transformed into the gaming franchise millions of players know it as today.

The “Schindler’s List” and “Harry Potter” star’s sister Sophie Fiennes directs a film version of “T.S. Eliot’s Four Quartets,” the stage production he brought to London and throughout the UK back in 2021. During the lockdown, Fiennes committed to memory the “Wasteland” poet’s four epic poems written during World War II about man’s relationship to time and the divine. His performance, praised as “magnetic” by The Telegraph, was filmed at the end of his run.
