It's a nice, simple, easy-going series showing a middle-class family's trials of building their modest home. Everyday casual situations between a close knit family portrayed well..two things that stand out for me is the way they show the slowly strengthening of family bonds, how their relationship matures and the excellent performance by the young adults..so its not just the 2 stalwarts carrying the shown on their own. Anything to do with Nidhi Bisht and Biswapati Sarkar can never fail to entertain. Don't miss it.

Finished all the episodes continuously. Shows the life of a middle class family. It will give same feelings like Gullak. Many of the instance are similar to things which happens in every middle class family. Wonderfully shown. Simply marvellous. Rollercoaster ride of emotional, funny. Leaves a smile on your face.

A 100% must watch, complete family entertainer. Truly a lovely watch, a good call to have sit with parents and siblings and watch this. PoshamPa Pictures makes hell of the relatable content, this is a story with how much difficulty a middle class family builds a home. With every episode, we remembered similar episodes that actually happened with us while building our own home. It shows the ugly yet lovely siblings spats in a wonderful fashion.
It will surely take you down the memory lane of the times you had while building you abode with your family.

This series will definitely give you happiness. Amazingly written and acting is too good. Don't miss it. The episodes are not too long. All the characters in the series connect with each other so well and most of you would connect with your life too. Enjoy.

With the arrival of OTT i have been always wondering why its cluttered with violent and nudity filled shows.
Nothing for family watch devoid of abusive language though there are very few exceptions but nothing so great .
This show Home Shanti has been really refreshing and casting/acting has been really top notch.
Plus without inducing forced nostalgia this is based on current context and its makes it even more likeable.
Perfect family watch.. :)

Home Shanti (2022)
Series Review -
A Hilarious And Poetic Family Entertainer That Will Make You Feel At Home!
There aren't many web series that have funny family products that you can watch with your family and laugh with them. Family dramas aren't new to Bollywood. We have had big hits and many popular films made over the years, and they still enjoy a cult following. In the 90s, everything was going great for this genre, especially with Hum Apke Hai Kaun (1994), which set the benchmark for such films, but in recent times, such films are being missed badly. With Home Shanti, Hotstar Specials brings you the medicine for that illness, and believe me, it is damn too effective. Home Shanti is exquisitely funny, vibrant, humourous and, most importantly, it has its heart in the right place.
Home Shanti hasn't got any extraordinary story, but a simple one, which is both simpler and more fulfilling. This 6-episode series is about the Joshi family, who intend to build a new home. Sarla Joshi (Supriya Pathak) is a school vice principal, and her husband, Umesh Joshi (Umesh Pahwa), is an unknown poet. They have a daughter, Jigyasa (Chakori Dwivedi), and a son, Naman (Poojan Chhabra), who are just like any other siblings, always fighting and loving each other. The series follows them on their journey of building a new home, the challenges they face, how they stand together in the face of adversity, and how much they learn about family values in pretty exciting and funny ways.
Supriya Pathak as Sarla will remind you of any passionate working-class wife and mother who is also a great housewife. She is brilliant with her accent, that typical wanna-be-strict-mommy kind of thing, and the wanna-be-perfect woman stuff. Manoj Pahwa is always a treat to watch in such funny roles. That hidden poet he portrays is definitely lovable. Also, his narration in the ending portion of every episode will leave you spellbound. The young brigade, Chakori and Poojan, will make a direct connection with every young viewer, especially the siblings. All the four members of the family have hilarious one-liners of their own, and they just don't stop throwing them at you.
The screenplay of Home Shanti keeps you engaged without any out-of-this-world theories. It's so grounded and relatable that you will feel at home. Watching this series with your family will be an unforgettable experience because you will find yourself in the shoes of one of the reel-life characters. A grand salute to the entire unit of writing, screenwriting, and dialogue writing. Home Shanti has impeccable humour, which is hard to beat and hard to find nowadays. While most of the web series are geared towards vulgar and adult material, Home Shanti provides you with a family entertainer and how. The poetic features of the series not only entertain you, but they also teach you a lot about family and relationships.
Aakanksha Dua deserves to be hailed for cracking the perfect formula of a modern-day family entertainer. It seems like ages since we got such an enchanting family comedy that is so relevant and mesmerizing. I was laughing so loudly at moments and was so hooked on the story that I kept reminding myself that this is a series, not a film. Such was the grip and hold Aakanksha had on the narrative. I was like, why is it not a film? This should have been it. Dear Aakanksha, why? We need a family film so badly in today's time. Why didn't you come earlier when Bollywood was busy tearing family films into pieces? Better late than never! That's all I can say. Home Shanti is a must watch shanti-filled (peaceful) break from all the crappy, loud, vulgar, and useless series we see nowadays, so please make sure that you don't miss it. It may create a small chaos for a moment in your family, but at the end of it, there will be nothing but SHANTI..!
RATING - 6.5/10*

The makers of this web series have tried to imitate successful 'Gullak', but unlike 'Gullak' every character is irritating here. Nobody in the family seems to be worried about the pooja, which appears like a burden on them. Even the pandit ji is making jokes on rituals. In 'Gullak' viewers fell in love with the Mishra family in the very first episode. The members of Joshi family in 'Home Shanti' do not attract like them.
Really a good web series
Each and every episodes connects emotionally... Didn't expecting this kind of amazing content when i started this web series.

I watched this web series today, more than a month after it released because, generally i watch them instantly when they release but this time some "useless" (reference ya!😂) reviewer on YouTube said "it is not that good". Today when I watched it, i find it to be sooooo good!!
It has comedy, it has poems, it has some light halke fulke drama , all that you need for a perfect light hearted family drama. Everything works in this series. It definitely gives off a TVF series vibes and it is hard to believe it isn't one but anyways, every episode is super enjoyable thanks to the funny brother sister banters that we see in every household, a poet father and a vice principal like mother.
Performances are just electrifying. Before i go to the veterans, i would take a few minutes to appreciate the extraordinary performances by Chakori Dwivedy (Jigyasa) and Poojan Chabbra ( Naman) , the brother sister duo who were so enjoyable to watch. They literally took the scenes to next level and of course, aiding them were the veterans, Supriya Pathak and Manoj Pahwa. Supporting cast including the guy who played Pappu Pathak, Nidhi Bisht and Biswapati Sarkar (these two are from TVF ) all have done superb job.
Overall, it does have the Gullak vibes in it but comparing to it is not good just because it does not belong to TVF. Home Shanti has made a place of its own in my heart and I am eagerly waiting for a more entertaining second season as we will see the grandmother create mayhem in the house.

If you want something refreshing, go for it. Absolutely loved the entire show right from the very first frame. It's a simple but very well executed family drama that doesn't give you any dull moment. Filled with light hearted, humorous and meaningful moments which are so relatable. These kinda shows deserve all the credit in the world. And when you have 2 veterans in Supriya Pathak and Manoj Pahwa, its surely gonna give you something worth your time. The 2 actors who played their kids too portrayed their roles pretty nicely. Overall a brilliant show that you can watch with the entire family..

Honestly, whose life story inspired you to write this totally baseless series.
One of the reviewers has used the word 'repulsive' some where here. That is just the right word used for this series. All characters seem to fake their role.
In episode 1 did you actually expect us to ROFL when the priest started jumping after watching snake. What do you think, we are in Doordarshan Era.
Aur ye Tarai wala episode kya tha bhai..Tarai .. Tarai...Tarai.... Tarai pe episode bana diye yar.

This is a show which was really needed in these times where there are alot of dark shows are being made and as i can see people are comparing this show with gullak. I feel it's totally a different show from gullak the genre is same and comes on giving a light hearted good vibe show but the stories and characters are different and all the actors have given justice to their characters be it naman, jigyasa, umesha and sarla
I loved namans character because i can relate to it as i have seen kids like him in my family also the depth the actor have added in the character as you can see he have got the goofyness into it and the sweetness but also cares for the family thinks about his sister and he is always there although he spoils most of the things but yeah that's how he is hahaha.

I chanced upon this show on Hotstar and thought to give it a try because of the two gem actors-- Supriya Pathak and Manoj Pahwa. But I was in for a big surprise. The whole creative team of this webseries is supremely talented. Each episode is a realistic and heartwarming yet simple story of the life of Joshi family. It is so gladdening to find that without using a single expletive or double meaning phrase or cheap slapstic tactic, every dialogue, every situation and the very characters produce so much humour that you would just want to laugh heartily while you try not to be angry at their stupid capers.
Fantastic acting by the central characters and super supporting team of creators👏👏👏 A million thanks to you Joshi family👍

Lovedd loved lovedd the Joshi Family! The family is a mixture of all emotions the cuteness of manoj sir , the strictness plus the way she cares about the family and being the breadearner of the family played by supriya pathak ji. The Naughtiness of naman plus how he always gets into the trouble unintentionally and how cutely he make his ways through it also getting mature with time understanding the family needs and being with them wonderfully played by the actor Poojan Chhabra would love to watch him moreee on screen. Even his sister chakori dwivedi have done a great job loved there brother sister duo would wanna watch them more on screen .
The contractor happy ranajit have also done a great job ! The bond with umesh and how clear he is with his things plus he also feels like a part of their family and how the family also accepts him. Beautifully written .... All this happenes in a middle classs family!
Loved the direction by akkanksha dua and creation by Nidhi bisht ,amit golani ,sameer saxena, biswapati sarkar, saurabh khanna.

Veer very disgusting web series. They are comparing swastik with nazi symbol. Made complete fun of rituals in the name of comedy. Completely waste of your time.
