I'm a big fan of the Sly Cooper series. This game is everything you'd want out of a great franchise though not without a few weaknesses, but on the whole a fun experience. Whereas the third game was a bit of a rushed jumble, this one at least gets a few things right such as the amount of characters, including the original trio, Sly's ancestors and later a reluctant Carmelita. Even though Sly unintentionally messed up their relationship, will Carmelita learn to fully respect Cooper and his gang? That's for you to find out. While the writing can't hold a candle to the 2nd game there are a few good moments. Of Sly's ancestors, my favorites are Rioichi for his calm, cool demeanor and Tennessee for his wild playfulness. The concept of costumes is a little flawed, some work, some don't, my favorites are the Archer and Thief costumes. Carmelita becomes more playable than she did in past games, even getting a challenging boss fight compared to the ones in the 3rd. If there's anything disappointing it would have to be the ending. I won't reveal it here, but it will have you begging for a 5th game (which as of now has no news, but don't give up hope.)

Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time is a fantastic followup after the events of the original trilogy. While it may be the weakest of the franchise with the one twist villain that ain't the one from Band of Thieves, it still manages to be a great sequel thanks to the whole structure in this game that's about Sly visiting his ancestors. And they all fit well to its gameplay. Like with all the moves each ancestor of the game have show their great personalities. Speaking of the gameplay, it also gotten exciting while playing the game it terms of new style it would have for collectibles and levels that involve Bentley's hacking. That and the boss levels make the action seem absolute top notch. And the graphics have changes for the PS3 in order to try to stay relevant, and it really does work. It would improve its textures in the gameplay and the animation cutscenes are able animate as some of the characters narrate the events that would happen. There hasn't been any announcement for the fifth game in a decade after this. I won't spoil specifically, but this has ended on a cliffhanger. So yeah, I do recommend this game for fans of the franchise. Sly deserves attention not just for generations, but as the PlayStation mascot. This one may not be as spectacular as the others, but it was worth reviving the game franchise we know and love eight years later.

Sly Cooper 4: Thieves In Time is totally excellent!
After a 7 year absence, our favorite thieving raccoon is back for an all-new adventure. This new game stays true to the spirit of the original PlayStation 2 trilogy, and adds some new, exciting elements at the same time. This game is a total blast for long-time veterans of the franchise as well as newcomers. Another plus is the cutscenes are very funny and entertaining. Also the old characters are their same old selves, and the new characters are engaging as well. But one caveat is there is no strategy guide or printed instruction manual (there's a downloadable digital instruction manual on the disc). Hopefully Sony will release a fifth game soon! Go out and buy it today!
