The movie was shot in only thirteen days.
The rocking chair with a dead Ms. Joy was the first thing that Russell wrote in the film.
Most of the eighties props were obtained from Goodwill, Salvation Army and eBay.

Two houses were used for the sorority; one being a bed-and-breakfast hotel (where all the cast and crew would sleep at) which happened to be adjacent to the main house that Russell and his crew was renting out and making the movie in. Several shots - of certain locations - were also done at the same hotel.
