only nice. without great ambitions, with few good pillars - François Berleand, Hippolyte Girardot - , stage for sweet- macho Rodrigo Diaz, it is far to be impressive. collections of clothes, light of a time, poor adaptation of Stendhal novel, it can be perfect option for a rainy afternoon. it is only a game with childish/ kitsch nuances. sure, after good adaptations, it can not present nothing original. so, its ambition is to be a kind of introduction, to cover pieces of novel in skin of little soap opera, to conquer readers of pink novels and to impress delicate souls. so, a film. not so bad but nice, sweet, fool of fake sugar of fake emotions.
It was great but french story (Fabrizio in Waterloo) is so awful in general. And that it was my favorite episode in the novel.
