Based on a real life story of series creator Cristianne Fridman. Her father died at a lottery retailer in Rio de Janeiro, in 1984 - which generated a turmoil, with people looking for his supposedly jackpot ticket. In fact, a clerk had lied about Fridman's father hitting the jackpot.
Scenes were filmed at the Northern Brazilian state of Pará due to the show becoming a hit there.
