Star Trek: Discovery is a divisive show. Even if you enjoy it, you can't deny that it changed parts of canon forever, and for no real reason. From the uniforms to the types of engines it uses and most egregious of all, the Klingons. It was a show that really went out of its way to make sure fans knew that the old era of Star Trek wasn't enough.
That thing you loved? It was broken, apparently. So Discovery fixed it! Or so they tried. The thing though is that nothing the show did to improve, fix, or in otherwise change what we understood Star Trek to be made things better. It felt like a lot of pandering to non-Star Trek fans in hopes of expanding the franchise.

Plot: One year after her parents are cursed and become literal monsters, Princess Eilian ventures into the Dark Forest of Eternal Darkness to find a cure that brings her parents back to their rightful forms before the kingdom discovers their secret.
Review: Princess-led animated films are a dime-a-dozen. Since 1937, when Snow White shacked up with seven dwarves and introduced the concept of a spell-breaking “true love kiss” to the masses, we’ve met many beauties in various states of distress and self-discovery. As Father Time has marched through ticks and tocks, his aging bones quivering inside his loosening skin, princesses evolved, gaining grace and agency in the face of mediocre princes and opportunistic father figures. Today, the Elsas, Meridas, Tianas, and Mulans of the world help redefine the princess in fiction and the eyes of adoring young women. We’ve reached a point when a princess can be a conduit...

Michele Placido’s “Eternal Visionary” (Eterno visionario) is a sprawling look at legendary playwright Luigi Pirandello’s inner demons. Sweeping through the 1920s and 1930s, the playwright (Fabrizio Bentivoglio) ruminates on his past as fraught personal relationships tumble to the fore.
The film has scale and sweep. But it’s more interested in emotion and interiority, especially mental landscapes as they shift and are affected across a span of time. One may try to be in denial and repress the emotional shadow of certain circumstances but sooner or later, they will catch up. The haunting of the man hews itself all over “Eternal Visionary.” The wounds and guilt are as persistent as the stubborn ego of the artist who pushes for the ‘human sincerity’ in his work to be recognized. He’s almost deluded in several instances.
The film portrays the genius of a man who feels constantly misunderstood by everyone around him.

Despite the failure of Marvel’s Eternals, the cast members formed a great bond with each other while promoting the film. Angelina Jolie was definitely the star power in the team, and she used her charm to beat her costars in a staring contest.

Everyone knows Jolie can command people’s attention whenever she enters a room, and it’s even more difficult to dare her to a staring contest because no one would win, not even the stunning Salma Hayek, who is also considered one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood alongside Jolie.

Back in 1993, Sega released a fighting game called Eternal Champions, aiming to capitalize on the popularity of the previous two years’ Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat, but also making sure to put “a heavier emphasis” on this game’s story along the way. Eternal Champions didn’t turn out to be as popular as Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat were but it clearly has a following, because more than thirty years after the game’s initial release, Skydance is moving forward with a film adaptation.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger are producing the film for Skydance, while Toru Nakahara, who has overseen the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, is producing for Sony. Rob Ree serves as executive producer. Aimee Rivera is overseeing the project for Skydance.

I think it's fair to say that Monty Python movies, much like the TV show from which they sprung, are all great. The absurdist brilliance of "Monty Python's Flying Circus," which ran on the BBC from 1969 to 1974, saw comedians John Cleese, Eric Idle, Graham Chapman, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, and Terry Gilliam rewrite the rules of comedy. Alongside regular collaborators Carol Cleveland and Connie Booth, the Monty Python troupe established themselves as true comedic geniuses, leading to a run of feature films that remain just as beloved to this day as the "Flying Circus" itself.
Chief among those films is 1975's "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," a deconstruction of the British national identity by way of an irreverent retelling of Arthurian legend. The film was and is much more than its oft-quoted catchphrases would suggest, with the Python boys turning their subversive eye towards British history and sending up...

At the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival back in 2021, several films directly tackled the subject of environmental issues (including the International Critics' Jury Winner that year). This year, the selection skewed more towards emotions of grief, loss, failed relationships. One film at the festival this year could effortlessly have been in both selections though: Ulaa Salim's science fiction drama For Evigt a.k.a. Eternal. At the beginning of Eternal, an earthquake in Iceland opens a huge fissure in the ocean's floor, raising the water temperature, destabilizing the tectonic plates, altering the electromagnetic field surrounding Earth and allowing lethal space radiation to reach the surface. In short: the end of the world is suddenly visible, and mere decades away. Part of the planet's population starts partying...

Thea Hvistendahl’s atmospheric slow-burn “Handling the Undead” took top honors at this year’s Neuchatel International Fantastic Film Festival (Nifff), claiming the festival’s H.R. Giger “Narcisse” prize alongside the Silver Méliès for best fantastic European feature.
Toplined by “The Worst Person in the World” stars Renate Reinsve and Anders Danielsen Lie, director Thea Hvistendahl’s feature debut repurposes walking-dead tropes, reimagining the traditional zombie movie as a more ambient reflection on family grief.
“Full of frail, mortal feeling and overcast last-days imagery, ‘Handling the Undead’ lingers coolly in the bones longer than many zombie films that offer more immediate, grisly gratification,” Variety’s Guy Lodge wrote out of Sundance. “It’s a living-dead nightmare with a brain and a heart, and, most importantly and indelibly, a soul.”
