An excellent finale, no fireworks or mega dramatic plotlines, simply another solid, credible multi-threaded story. This staple has kept this fabulous series running for twelve seasons and thankfully, now a thirteenth.
Some significant decisions are taken which set up a plethora of possibilities for future clashes and challenges.

Blue Bloods is a police drama, not a military one. Danny is a cop, speaking to cops, not marines. Asking for a medic is appropriate. Why on earth would he ask for a corpsman?

Bring the familiar together at work and at the table. Warm and fuzzies with this episode. So good! No crazy ending but lots of feels. Looking forward to season 13. Great episode. Great show.
Donnie is an added bonus (Blockhead in the house!).

I have been watching Blue Bloods for 12 seasons and cannot wait for October 7th w/ season 13 beginning.
Yes , some get a bit corny and dramatic , mistakes are made. But I love this show and the family " Reagan". They all gave their flaws, and sometimes are some are annoying . But that is a family.
Also have heard family dinner annoys people - I personally love it as I grew up in a family that had Sunday dinner with all or some attending every Sunday.
I have been a Tom Selleck fan forever as he is just a nice down to earth man for real and as Frank Reagan. Everyone else fits in well . Glad Joe Hill has settled in.
Wish they hadn't made his mom so mean - Just enjoy the show fans !

I found the ongoing storyline on Erin deciding to run (or not) for New York County (ie: Manhattan) DA to be particularly uninteresting. Her entire consideration time and process is something I would expect for a potential candidate for New York State Governor or a US Senator. I'm very happy she's getting over her fear of losing and get this storyline over with one way or another.
I'm also happy to see Detective Baez finds another purpose in her job. It's not the first time she displays job fatigue in the season. With an adopted child to rear, I can see how she may not want to be a Detective anymore (and exit the show). If that's the case, it'd be a shame because she's a great character that compliments Danny very well.

The back story for Danny Reagan has him as a former combat veteran MARINE with two tours of duty in Fallujah. Both Police Commissioner's were Marines as well. Floating the idea of Danny having a flashback to Fallujah when the bomb goes off by yelling "Medic" is flat out wrong. A Marine would have yelled "Corpsman up." There are no Medics in the Marine Corps. We have Navy Corpsman. I've seen it with my own eyes. A friend who had two Purple Hearts from Vietnam witnessed an event ten years after getting out of the Marines and yelled "Corpsman up." A technical advisor should have caught that. Especially with ALL of the references over the last twelve years to the Marine Corps.
Danny who is supposed to be a Marine calls for a medic after the explosion. The Marine Corps uses US Navy corpsman as medical personnel. He would have called for a " corpsman".
