Not good
This movie reminds me the French "Taxi" movie series (from Luc Besson): bad action scenes, bad acting, bad script, bad camera work....
I don't know how Scott Eastwood got involved in this movie. Because he can have a pretty good acting career like his father by selecting better projects.
Ana De Armas is not good either (before her big break in Blade Runner 2049). Surely because of the crappy and unoriginal script.
And I don't know how this movie got funded. Surely it can be a nice TV movie, so forgettable.

The creators of this Movie should be charged and tried
I've been reading reviews on IMDb for about 6 years now and I never felt compelled to write one myself. However, the characters in Overdrive change this.
The two brothers are criminals to begin with. There is no reason to justify their crimes yet they are super- cool, stylish and over the top in every aspect. The two girls who are thieves themselves also possess the same excellent qualities like the boys do. That's just not it, one of them is okay to throw herself at any men, to be taken advantage of, she comes across. The other one is so annoying and treats the protagonist with utter disrespect that it's hard to be with her for just one minute for any men with a little sense of self- respect let alone be a life-partner but our protagonist can't imagine his life without her. I'm yet to see a character in any movie that has so low opinion about himself.
These protagonists display all the qualities of low-life, cheap, immoral, uncivilized, lowest of the low, small time thieves that should have been suffered in the movie yet they are portrayed like super- cool F**** who won it all in the end. Bad lesson for the young people.

Not a Fast&Furious film
I saw this film by chance in my local cinema. To begin with, it is nothing like some of the best actions from European creators, such as Taken, District B13, Transporter, etc.
The action is good enough, with a couple of silly moments. The leads are handsome, but they don't give the performance of their lifetime. Some good funny moments, very beautiful landscapes from France, stereotypical villains and very rare and exotic cars. The plot is also not very original and the directing is nothing special - it has no special vibes like the action/criminal films by Luc Besson, Pierre Morel or Olivier Marchal.
It is a "popcorn movie" not worse than the most of the recent films that stars like Nicholas Cage, Bruce Willis, Val Kilmer and even Robert DeNiro are part off. I believe that Scott Eastwood is getting better and better in acting, he just needs some more challenging roles, not just handsome guy for average actions and romantic films.
6,5/10 in order to stimulate more the European film creators and young actors.

Downgraded version of The Fast and The Furious
The best parts of the FF franchise are the effects and action scenes which require a massive budget.
Take away the budget and you get this movie which is a boring, clique'd, uninspiring mess that should have not been made.
Not absolutely horrendous but you will forget that this movie existed after walking from the theater.

OK caper movie
Overdrives your brain into dullness
Overdrive mashes so many ideas from other movies that it was hard to keep up with all of them and so I stopped counting when I couldn't keep up. Sure, stealing from other movies isn't a bad idea when you add your own touch. As some guy once said "steal like an artist" but with this one, it's like you're watching a weird reenactment of cool ideas from other movies without adding your own details or imprint or at least gluing them together with some sense.
And this is the case with this movie. They made a soup of ideas from other films: vintage and sports cars, protagonists that get trapped in doing a "job" for the rich douche bag, pretty locations, chases, and cute faces.
But when you add in really bad acting, way too many plot twists and side characters, an absolute lack of chemistry between the main actors, boring racing scenes and some of the stupidest lines of dialogue one can only wonder how come no one realized it was destined to fail in such a loud way?
Speaking of loudness - here is a message to its creators: turning that goddamn volume up to 1 million won't make it more entertaining but instead leave its viewers with a gigantic headache.
I could, however, see 2 qualities in this racing flick: some pretty panoramic views of France (a la Fast and Furious, of course) and the protagonist half-brothers who actually felt like they were half brothers.
Teens will probably fall in love with the cute faces but otherwise, you should stay away from this poor man's Fast and Furious because it "overdrives" far from its inspiration points way up to the realm of too much, or too little. Drive Over it and go see something else.
Also, who the **** eats cereal at night?

My Kind Of Movie!
The reviews on this are very low which i don't understand. This is one of my favourite films and i love it so much. I don't know why people are rating it poorly as it's brilliant. Highly reccommend!
Pretty decent. Don't believe? Read below.
Classic old school plot. Classic getaway. Classic cars. Classic chases but with beautiful shots of tight mountain roads. Pretty girls (only two of them). Nice soundtrack.
The makers of this movie failed to add depth to the main characters, because they shouldn't have even tried. The movie has enough pretty cars, two(yes, only two) pretty girls, decent pace which was watered down with shallow love stories. For some reason it gives the feeling that they cannot fail which spoils the thrill: "How are they gonna make it now!?". Yes, acting was cheesy, but convincing enough so you can bare it before the next chase. Clint Eastwood's son was so stiff, that I was expecting him to spit tobacco and to get on the horse at any moment now. The good thing - every single stunt was very real. No zero gravity, no "turn off the physics for a while" moments. Engine roar, rubber and grip. I would prefer this one before any of the last FF movies.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star honestly
This is one my very bad movie experience in Malaysia. Only 10 people were there to watch this movie after 35 mins 5 left.. I don't know how to express about this movie.. Lots of money invested but no story no climax nothing. Through out the whole movie they are Just forecasting dozens of expensive cars.

Nice cars and a scenic France...that's pretty much it...
Great car movie
Saw this movie in a shop and read the 'not great' reviews and to be honest if it hadn't been cheap i would have given it a miss, i'm glad i didn't! Just watched it and really enjoyed the cars and scenery, it's a great way for anyone into cars to pass a few hours. It reminds me of some of the luc besson movies the way it's filmed, like Taxi and transporter, of which i'm a big fan.
Sure, it's got faults, but overall an entertaining movie and one i'd watch again.

Overdrive: (very) stupid but enjoyable.
Scenery is great (Southern France seashore in Autumn), Opening scene is catching (none can deny it), Ana de Armas, Clint Eastwood's son together with other nice guys and beautiful girls help keep interested, script and direction are good (very professional), dialogue is entertaining
in other words this title is an 87 enjoyable minutes.
Personally I'm not fond of cars and I don't think the 'Fast and Furious' franchise was so clearly better. Surely it ain't more clever. So, if you like action movies and you want to watch something light, relaxing and entertaining, my suggestion is to feel free to enjoy without listening to needlessly scandalized reviews.

Overdrive Film Review
The new action thriller film Overdrive starring Scott Eastwood, Freddie Thorp, Ana de Armas.
In Overdrive brothers Andrew and Garrett Foster (American actor Scott Eastwood - Fast And Furious 8, Suicide Squad and is the son of American actor and director Clint Eastwood and Freddie Thorp - The Head Hunter, To Dream) are not only exceptional drivers but are also known for being the best car thieves in the world. In Marseille, France situated in the south of France they steal a rare and priceless Bugatti 1937 from the local mafia boss Jacomo Morier (French actor Simon Abkarian - Casino Royale 2006, The Truth About Charlie). In exchange for their lives Morier decides to use their talents for his own profit and to get back at his arch rival. Whilst seemingly agreeing to work with Morier the brothers have actually devised a much more daring plan...
Amongst the other actors / actresses in Overdrive includes Cuban actress Ana de Armas (War Dogs, Knock Knock) as Stephanie Andrew's girlfriend, French actress Gaia Weiss (The Legend Of Hercules, Mary Queen Of Scots) as Devin, German actor Clemens Schick (Casino Royale 2006, Point Break 2015) as Max Klemp, Algerian actor Moussa Maaskri (The Family, Corniche Kennedy) as Panahi, Affif Ben Badra (The Ottoman Lieutenant, Kanyamakan) as Panahi's assassin, French actor Frédéric Anscombre (Puerto Ricans In Paris) as Depaul, Ivory Coast actor Kaaris (Fastlife, Braqueurs) as Franck, Abraham Belaga (TV Series The Borgias) as Laurent Morier and Magne-Håvard Brekke as Kuhn.
Pretty much most of Overdrive is shot on location in Marseille in Southern France with some of it being shot in Paris the capital of France.
Overall Overdrive is a good action thriller film filled with lots of car chases, cool cars a good mixture of old and new cars that will make you go wow when you see them, action, shooting, violence, explosions, incredible stunts, on the edge of your seat stuff, criminals, some near misses, thrills and spills, tongue and cheek stuff, some funny moments, cars and things getting wrecked, blown up, destroyed, kidnapping, team work, togetherness, family, loyalty, a race against time, friendship, stunning shots of Marseille and the surrounding scenery of Marseille which is nice to look at, narrow roads in the mountains and many other things throughout the film.
So I will give Overdrive an overall rating of 3 out of 5 stars and Overdrive is worth seeing if you like action thriller films that have car chases in them like The Fast And The Furious films, Need For Speed, Ronin, The Rock, Bad Boys films, Gone In 60 Seconds, Parker, Stolen, The Transporter films, Bullitt, The Italian Job films, The Bourne films, The Bond films amongst others.
So if you get the chance to see Overdrive in the cinema then you should go and see it sooner than later.

Fun but nothing Special
Overdrive is a pretty fun movie, decent car action, ok characters. Overall it's not an awful movie to watch when you have nothing to do, but it is lacking in substance. The storyline is somewhat interesting but leaves a lot of plot holes. I wouldn't not recommend it but I also guess I would recowarn it. It's not the best film out there but there is far worse. I only watched it for Ana De Armas and she didn't disappoint, Scott Eastwood is pretty good and everyone else plays a decent part as well. Not disappointing but nothing to brag about.

This movie just doesn't work
Yet another attempt, rather bankrupt, in search of the formula that has made certain movies extremely successful, traveling with very little grit and very low narrative ambitions the road of the automotive genre in cinema the already asphalted and traveled with knowledge of the by the now historical, mainly in the field of pure entertainment, saga of "Fast and Furious".
The result is a useless film to which eats the elegance that desperately seeks, the grit necessary to entertain and a personality that could have made him at least distinguishable.
The main problem is the unawareness of the director, who seems to have never understood what kind of film he should have shot. "Overdrive" rather than a gripping action film resembles a long advertising that can be perfumes, cars or simply clothing, in short, everything but a movie.
If only Antonio Negret had paid more attention to the development of the plot, which is extremely trivial and hasty, or even just the same attention that he used to continuously frame the surrounding environment and faces as well as the bodies of the various actors, the film could also to work, let's say that the plot is also vaguely interesting and could have given rise to a film at least for entertainment.
Even the cast is not at all helpful with the trivial and cloying interpretations and with a Scott Eastwood who seems to be trying to cover up his surname from film to film. It must also be said that the screenplay proves to be a major obstacle for them, with an extremely superficial writing of characters, an equally superficial characterization and an initial presentation of them that is extremely didactic and irritating.
In short, the film is missing a lot of things just to be considered such but the biggest mistake is probably the fact that the director seems not to have noticed, given his pompous and presumptuous approach.
Disappointed
I was very disappointed with this movie. There was way too much going on and it was hard to follow.
