The young actress here Azou Gardahaut Petiteau is a total natural great on-screen presence; the others are adequate at best her young "boyfriend" also does the acting bit stylishly
The story will move anyone remembering those years when all the 60s 70s energy was petering out into neoliberal lockdown in the minds and actions of most ... yuppies were looming in the foreground like evil ghosts sent as a scout party to kick off the next 40 years of greed and selfishness; so Garance here her family her family's friends were the last embers of the 60s 70s fire ....
Much is made of the Brigate Rosse the infamous Red Brigades of the early 80s The Rote Armee Fraktion the RAF is also mentioned ...
It is really a period piece; what always strikes me when you make those types of films is that the body types are not right. People change through the ages; people in the 40s people in the 60s 80s here and now 2020s do not have the same bodies you can dress them to look the part but the way they move speak and interact is just wrong when transposed
Love her cassette recorder absolute corker ... also The Ardèche looks glorious ...
We expect to see the 2 young actresses move through the ranks as they mature; a bit like Jean-Pierre Léaud in his earliest opus The 400 Blows (1959)
Anyway well done Lisa Diaz
go and see it.!!
