This was an interesting little show, which only ran for one series. Part Sci Fi, and part Fantasy, the hero (John Wells) walked into a looking glass and found himself in a different world every week (Think of a cross between Alice through the Looking Glass, and Mr Benn). The episodes were made on a low budget, so the scripts had to be well written to compensate, and the writers outdid themselves with their imaginative worlds and characters.
Subtly comedic, with some sentimentality, and some genuine pathos, this was an excellent show and I wish that somebody would post it on the Internet.

I have fond memories of this series which came out when I was 15 so it clearly had a big impact on an impressionable imagination. I support the comments made elsewhere about imaginative backdrops and excellent narrative but the element that sticks in my mind was the 2-3 musical numbers in each show. I chased up with the BBC a couple of years ago hoping it might be made available via iPlayer and was informed that, sadly, they cannot locate the original tapes.
