"Late Blossom" is based on a internet comic written by Kang Pool. The web comic was first published on April 17, 2007 via web portal Daum.
The original web comic was then published as a three volume comic book on November 26, 2007. The comic book has sold over 150,000 copies.
It was remade as a 16 episode TV soap in 2012: Late Blossom or Keudaereul Saranghamnida (SBS Plus / 2012).
