Lisa is coming!
The 27-year-old Blackpink icon revealed that she will release her long-awaited debut solo studio album, Alter Ego, on February 28, 2025, via her label Lloud in partnership with RCA Records.
In her official Alter Ego teaser clip, Lisa showcases five different characters representing facets of her personality as five points on a star.
Lisa’s most recent single from the forthcoming album is “Moonlit Floor,” which interpolates the classic “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer. Prior to that, she dropped “New Woman” featuring Rosalía, as well as “Rockstar.”
In an interview earlier this month, Lisa revealed she was “scared and nervous” to go solo, and spoke about her current image, as well as her massively successful K-pop girl group’s support for one another. Find out what she said!

Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez has shared a cover of The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven” as part of his monthly YouTube “Claudio Covers” series.
With the recent release of The Cure’s highly anticipated comeback album, Songs of a Lost World, the Coheed frontman celebrated the occasion by covering one of the band’s classic songs.
As Claudio tells it, he was actually introduced to the track via the brilliant cover version by Dinosaur Jr.
“This song was introduced to me by some friends as a cover done by Dinosaur Jr,” Sanchez said (via the YouTube description). “They were skaters, so the reference to ‘tricks’ at the top of the song conjured up ideas of a smitten lover’s curiosity for executing kick-flips and rail slides.”
He continued, “At the time, I didn’t know much of The Cure’s discography outside of ‘Boy’s Don’t Cry,...

Earlier this year, Tyla and Lisa both happened to be free one night in Los Angeles — and it turned out to be perfect timing. The South African singer was preparing to release her debut album, Tyla, and the Blackpink superstar was in the studio with producer and songwriter Sammy SoSo, who’d worked with both of them. So Tyla hopped over to the studio and let Lisa listen to her entire album. “I didn’t know what to expect,” she tells Lisa, recalling the moment they met for the first time.

Blackpink’s Lisa made a stage out of the runway at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The singer joined the event’s first-ever all-women performance lineup to open the show with her fiery solo hit, “Rockstar.”
Lisa, fittingly dressed in a two-piece leather look, hit the stage riding a motorcycle suspended in the air, while backed by 10 dancers as she joined in for the five-star choreography. Each week, Consequence rings in New Music Friday by highlighting new albums to stream. We’re now in October, and we’ve got lots of new music to ring in the new month.
This week’s highlights feature a personal recording from Leon Bridges, an emotional album from Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and fresh music from rising artists like Drug Church and Geordie Greep. Plus, Finneas releases his sophomore album, while The Smile returns with their second album of 2024.
Here are 12 new albums to stream today.
A Place to Bury Strangers – Synthesizer
Aptbs have always been shrouded in noise and giant walls of fuzzy, affected guitars, and for their seventh record, Synthesizer, they’re once again upping the ante. The veteran noise rock/shoegaze act built a custom synthesizer specifically for the new album, resulting in a whole new world of disorientating sounds.

Lisa is interpolating a Nineties classic on her new single. On Thursday, the Blackpink star released her solo track “Moonlit Floor,” which reimagines Sixpence None the Richer’s 1997 song “Kiss Me” into a catchy dance-pop track.
“Moonlit Floor” — co-written by Jessie Reyez and Ryan Williamson — takes the original Matt Slocum-penned lyrics, “Kiss me beneath the milky twilight/Lead me out on the moonlit floor,” and switches them up to “Kiss me, under the Paris twilight/Kiss me out on the moonlit floor.”

Although his debut could be derailed by a potential preemption later this week, “As The World Turns” alum Van Hansis (ex-Luke Snyder) is returning to daytime television when he takes over the role of Lucas Jones on ABC’s “General Hospital,” last played by Ryan Carnes.
According to TV Insider, which first reported the news, Hansis is set to hit Port Charles on the Friday, October 4 episode, albeit contingent on whether or not ABC’s coverage of the Major League Baseball Wild Card Series causes a last-minute preemption of the drama series on Thursday, October 3.
While storyline details have not been announced, it looks like Lucas is back in town just in time for the awakening of his cousin, Lulu (now played by Alexa Havins), who requires a liver transplant.

The Venezuelan singer-songwriters are the sons of Latine pop icon Ricardo Montaner. However, the talent in the Montaner family doesn't end with Mau, Ricky, and Ricardo. Mau and Ricky's sister, Evaluna Montaner, and their brother-in-law, Camilo, are also impacting the industry. If you listen closely, the elder Evaluna and Camilo's voices can be heard on Mau y Ricky's new album "Hotel Caracas," which also marked the brothers' return to Venezuela for the first time in over a decade. Family and community are core tenets for the duo.

A beautiful young Black woman sits alone at a bar, waiting for her date to show. When he does, he orders for her, brays about his job in finance, objectifies her “caramel” skin, and later, tries to secretly film her – and worse.
On a different night out, a man tells the woman that she could be a model – not runway, but print – and that while he doesn’t usually go for Black girls, she’s the prettiest one there. She witnesses another man, whose mates are bellowing about taking girls “to pound town”, taking upskirt photos in a club. She makes a beeline for them all, and not because her dickhead radar is faulty but because it’s fully operational and when she gets these men into a dark corner… well, that would be telling.

With one foot planted firmly in the Kiss Me Deadly era of film noir and the other closer to The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, writer-director Allen Baron’s Blast of Silence begins with a brutal, uncompromising invocation of birth and ends with an almost mystically sensitive death. The story of socially isolated hit man Frankie (Baron) who comes to terms with his deferred need for human connection just in time for, one, Christmas and, two, a job that will require him to be especially cold-hearted, Blast of Silence is less a manifestation of the labyrinthine plot trajectories of great noir than an early harbinger of the DIY moxie of the American independent movement.
Baron’s blunt, almost perfunctory story doesn’t reveal much about the inner workings of its central character, instead taking advantage of the downright dull aspects of New York City, a city that films (especially noir...

The English countryside serves as the backdrop for Empress Of and Rina Sawayama‘s dreamy collaboration “Kiss Me.” Last week, the pair began their stretch on the road together as Sawayama continues the Hold The Girl Reloaded North American tour with Empress Of as support. And on their new single, much like on the stage, the two musicians want your undivided attention.

Montserrat Luna-Ballantyne is walking in circles, picket sign raised high, with a scant group outside an NBCUniversal gate on a Thursday morning that is beginning to turn warm. The striking Writers Guild of America member (With Love) comes to NBCUniversal frequently — it’s nearby to where to she lives, and she can take the bus — but this morning is slightly different, less dutiful, than a typical three-hour shift.
As songs like Sixpence None the Richer’s “Kiss Me” and Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” play on a speaker at the gate, Luna-Ballantyne is doing the circuit, from one sidewalk to another, nearby one writer in a Xena: Warrior Princess t-shirt and another in a spaghetti strap dress. She herself is wearing butterfly clips, a choker and earrings shaped like the cartoon cat Luna from Sailor Moon. “I enjoy coming to themed pickets — it mixes it up a little bit,” she says while pausing.

The Cure honored their most diehard fans last night at the New Orleans kickoff of their North American tour with the first performances of Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me’s “A Thousand Hours” and The Head on the Door’s “Six Different Ways” since 1987.
Frontman Robert Smith sang the vocal to “A Thousand Hours” with his arms outstretched, asking the audience, “For how much longer can I cry like this? … For how much longer can I howl into this wind?” as his bandmates played the song’s dreamy synth-and-guitar swirls around him.

Jordan Fisher savors those 7 p.m. showtimes. It’s not that there’s a huge difference on the nights that Broadway’s revival of “Sweeney Todd” starts at 8 p.m. But the extra hour of freedom after curtain call at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre means he gets more time to spend with his family.
“I’ll get to bed an hour early and get up with my son so we can hang and have a little bit more time to chill in the morning,” Fisher says over espresso at a swanky bar in Manhattan’s theater district. He got married during the pandemic, and the couple welcomed their first child in last June. “A lot of my mornings are dictated by how late I go to bed. With a schedule like this, we go to work hours after people clocked out of their offices. My body has to get used to it.

Who would have guessed? Everything But The Girl have returned in one of the year’s most surprising—and welcome—comebacks. The married London duo of Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt quit making music together in 2000, taking time to raise their family while working separately. Fuse is their first collaboration since 1999’s underrated gem Temperamental, which topped off the amazing Nineties trilogy they began with Amplified Heart and Walking Wounded. But Everything But The Girl hit home with their trademark style of ghostly electro-pop, with Thorn’s melancholy voice floating through the glitchy beats.

When The Way Home‘s Kat walked down a staircase in a red dress to the sounds of Sixpence None The Richer’s “Kiss Me” in Episode 5, it was hardly the first time her portrayer Chyler Leigh had paid homage to the iconic scene from the ’90s teen movie classic She’s All That.
Leigh tells TVLine that the producers of Hallmark Channel’s time-traveling family drama “definitely knew” that the actress had already once recreated the moment in which Rachael Leigh Cook’s She’s All That character unveils her makeover while descending a flight of stairs to a stunned Freddie Prinze Jr.

There's nothing like a bit of time travel to muddy the present.
On The Way Home Season 1 Episode 5, Kat and Alice have the past and present running together in their minds, and it makes dealing with those unaware of their time travel a little more challenging.
Even Elliot, who is on the secret but not traveling himself, is navigating rough waters with the women who have been a part of his life for decades.
Brady's return to Port Haven was perfectly timed.
Kat and Alice both needed to reconcile their feelings from the past with the present.
For Alice, visiting the past introduced her to a man she didn't know. Young Brady didn't live up to the man she knew as her father. It made her question everything.
Upon his arrival, Alice treated her dad as if she was meeting him for the first time. She was disrespectful and spoke out of turn,...

Ultra HD puts Stanley Kubrick’s second feature film in a new light — his B&w images of New York lend a ‘Weegee’ flavor to the tale of a prizefighter who comes to the rescue of a dance hall girl. Kubrick does better sticking to the urban streets he knows so well; the cast scores via his strong direction and art museum-quality images. The post-dubbed soundtrack is the weak link, and perhaps Kubrick’s somewhat awkward flashback gear changes. But for 1955 he’s definitely a talent on the way. Kino’s disc carries an analytical commentary by Imogen Sara Smith.

Earlier this season Blake Shelton quoted an article from Gold Derby to remind everyone that he’s the most successful coach in “The Voice” history. The six-time coaching champ is hoping to make it a record-extending seven titles, but he’s feeling the heat after narrowing his team down to just five contestants. So which of them has the best shot at bringing him another championship? See our best-to-worst rankings for Team Blake below.
Next Monday and Tuesday “The Voice” will transition from its pre-taped rounds to live shows where the audience has a say in who stays and who goes. In these Live Playoffs, each of the four teams of five coached by Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson will compete for just three spots in the following round. Two of those spots will be determined by the audience votes and the last one by coach’s choice.

With some considerable help from Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Broadway box office held steady during the Fourth of July holiday week, even with two fewer shows on board than the previous week. Down a small 5%, total receipts for the 33 productions tallied to $34,108,643 for Broadway’s Week 6 (ending July 7).
A solid $1,331,046 of that total came from Moulin, Sro at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, where the musical played only five previews to allow for rehearsals. The show now shifts to a seven-performance schedule until the July 25 opening night, when it begins the standard eight-per-week.
Total attendance for the 33 shows was 288,107, a barely noticeable 3% slip from the previous week, when 35 productions reported figures. More shows than not reported box office slips from the previous week, competition with fireworks being what it is.
As with the previous week, director Alex Timbers’ adaptation of Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 hit movie was among the hottest tickets on Broadway.
