Gaspard Ulliel was going to portray Arnaud Mimran in this miniseries and had even started shooting it in December 2021. He was on a break from shooting and was expected to return to the set on January 24, 2022, when he suffered a skiing accident at a resort in Savoie, France and died on January 19, 2022. On February 18, 2022, it was announced that Ulliel had been replaced by his friend Niels Schneider.
Based on the book "D'argent et de sang" by investigative journalist Fabrice Arfi, that was published in 2018.
