Beth Behrs is reflecting on her time on The Neighborhood and is “grateful” to CBS for picking up the sitcom for one final season to properly say goodbye, unlike with 2 Broke Girls.
Behrs’ post comes after the eye network renewed the sitcom she co-stars in with Max Greenfield, Tichina Arnold, and Cedric the Entertainer for an eighth and final season.
“Most of my 20s were on 2 Broke Girls, almost all of my 30s were on The Neighborhood and I’ll usher in my 40s as we end our story,” Behrs posted on Instagram.
“Kat Dennings and I never got a goodbye or an end to our 2 Broke Girls story, and I’m just so grateful to CBS for a chance to say goodbye to Gemma the right away.”
Dennings replied to Behrs post, saying, “Woooo!!! Go Beth!!!!”

Millennials of a certain vintage may know “Deli Boys” creator Abdullah Saeed from his cannabis-related content for Vice, including shows like “Weediquette” and “Bong Appetit.” With his new Hulu sitcom, Saeed has both made the switch to scripted series and upgraded to harder stuff. The namesake protagonists of “Deli Boys,” two spoiled rich kids who suddenly lose their father, are stunned to learn their family legacy isn’t actually a regional chain of Delaware Valley convenience stores: It’s the cocaine smuggling ring for which the delis were just a distribution front.
A crime comedy with a heavy skew toward the comedy, “Deli Boys” sets its unserious tone with the slapstick demise of patriarch Baba Dar (Iqbal Theba), who gushes blood after taking a golf ball to the head as his slack-jawed failsons Mir (Asif Ali) and Raj (Saagar Shaikh) look on in horror. A guest spot on a television sitcom, especially one as insanely popular as "The Big Bang Theory," is basically television law. There's no legally binding mandate, per se, but it would get pretty monotonous if every week followed our series leads with absolutely no one else showing up for a laugh or surprise jolt from the live studio audience. Given the show's primary focus on "geek culture," or rather a heavily commercialized version of such, it makes sense that nerdom heavy hitters like James Earl Jones, Mark Hamill, and Adam West would make an appearance throughout its 12-season run. But then you can't sustain a roster of guest spots without expanding your star power horizons.
The series' 11th and penultimate season saw folks like Kathy Bates, Peter MacNicol, and Jerry O'Connell pop in for a quick hello, but you may be surprised to learn that "Fallout" star Walton Goggins and his beautiful scruff did too.

Marvel Studios has enlisted a lot of A-List actors for the Multiverse Saga, only for the majority of them to be relegated to one-off appearances in post-credits scenes. We're hoping to see more of them down the line, of course, but is another big name now being lined up to join the MCU?
Many of you may remember Jennifer Coolidge best for her roles in the American Pie and Legally Blonde franchises. In recent years, she's received widespread acclaim for her work in HBO's The White Lotus, winning two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe.
Today, scooper @MyTimeToShineH brings word that Coolidge is "being considered for a major role in the MCU." As of now, "It's unclear if she’s had a meeting yet, but they’re interested in meeting with her."
So, it's early days and there's nothing to say the actor will even be interested in boarding the franchise.

Throughout the nearly two and a half decades that she has been a part of Hollywood’s entertainment industry following her debut through Sex and the City in 2000, Kat Dennings has arguably led one of the most commendably successful careers. This includes her becoming a part of some of the most iconic pieces and fan-beloved franchises.
Not only is she a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having starred as Doctor Darcy Lewis in the Thor film series and WandaVision, but she has also played major roles in pieces like 2 Broke Girls, her hit series. After getting her breakthrough as Norah in Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist in 2008, the said sitcom further cemented her as a household name in Hollywood.

Actress Kat Dennings talked about the tough body image criticism she faced as a young actor and how Hollywood has changed in the last twenty years to become more inclusive and helpful.
In an interview with People magazine, Dennings, who starred in 2 Broke Girls and will appear in the new show Shifting Gears, talked about the harsh comments she received from casting directors when she started her career. When she was just 12 years old, she was told she “wasn’t pretty enough” and was “fat.” These words, passed on by her manager after the auditions, made a strong impact on her.
“Thinking about it was pretty crazy,” Dennings said. “I’m wondering how someone can say that about a young child.” “This is crazy.” The actress started her career in the early 2000s on the WB sitcom Raising Dad, a time she says was not as accepting as the industry is now.

After 25 years of acting, Kat Dennings has seen the entertainment industry become a much more inclusive place.
The Shifting Gears actress recently recalled casting directors being “very cruel” in her early years of acting, despite the fact they were “talking about a child.”
“The time that I was auditioning and starting to act, it was a very different environment than it is now,” she told People. “There was not a lot of inclusivity at all. It was very harsh. There was a lot of extremely negative feedback and people would not hold back.”
Dennings added, “It was pretty crazy thinking about it. I’m like, ‘How can anyone say that about a little kid? This is insane.’ For example, I was 12. I’d go into an audition and I’d do it, and my manager would call me and I’d be like, ‘How’d it go?’ And they’d be like,...

Shifting Gears has aired its series premiere, and the cast is filled with familiar faces. ABC’s newest sitcom marks Tim Allen’s return to network television, but many supporting characters are played by actors who have worked with Allen before. Others have experience with co-star Kat Dennings in her varied projects, while a select few are breaking into the world of sitcoms with Shifting Gears. The basic story of Tim Allen’s Shifting Gears follows an estranged father (Allen’s Matt) and daughter (Dennings’ Riley) who reconnect when the daughter moves home with her two children amidst a divorce.
While the pilot episode of Shifting Gears earned negative reviews, the show’s impressive array of actors garnered a sizable following. The classic sitcom format of Shifting Gears leaves the door open for endless additional guest stars and cameos as the series progresses, but the main and recurring cast is already filled with heavy hitters.

Tim Allen's new ABC sitcom, Shifting Gears, is off to a strong start and marks a major improvement for its timeslot. Created by Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully, with Michelle Nader serving as showrunner and executive producer, the multi-cam comedy centers on car restoration shop owner Matt (Allen). Reviews are out for Shifting Gears, and Tim Allen’s return to TV is massively underperforming with critics. Allen previously led one of the best 90s sitcoms (Home Improvement) and returned in 2011 for a respectable 9-season run of Last Man Standing. The story of Tim Allen’s Shifting Gears seemed like a familiar continuation of his past hits, with leading man Matt partly modeled after Allen himself.
While Tim Allen is undoubtedly the show’s main selling point, it has other heavy hitters like Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls) who plays his estranged daughter, Riley. Dennings' character and her two children move in with Allen’s Matt, but the father-daughter duo are constantly at odds. Though Shifting Gears is set up like a classic sitcom, reviews have criticized aspects of the plot, writing, and overall execution, with Shifting Gears currently sitting at a “rotten” 45% Rotten Tomatoes score. Tim Allen has starred in two successful network sitcoms, and Kat Dennings has starred in one (2 Broke Girls). Now, they've been brought together on a new comedy for ABC. Will this one also be a hit? Will Shifting Gears be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A multi-camera comedy series, the Shifting Gears TV show was created by Julie Thacker Scully & Mike Scully. It stars Allen, Dennings, Seann William Scott, Daryl Chill Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett Margolis. Jenna Elfman recurs. In the story, Matt (Allen) is the stubborn and widowed garage owner specializing in fixing vintage and custom cars. Helping him are wisecracking and wheelchair-bound Stich (Mitchell) and handsome but not too bright Gabriel (Scott). Matt’s world is turned upside down when his estranged wild-child daughter returns, driving...

“Shifting Gears” is bringing Tim Allen and Kat Dennings back to television, and the ABC comedy’s showrunner has big hopes for its impact on viewers.
The show, premiering Wednesday, follows Matt (Allen), the stubborn and widowed owner of a car restoration shop who is surprised by the arrival of his estranged daughter Riley (Dennings) arrives to stay with him alongside her teenage children. Once the family reunites, they can begin to heal their complicated relationship mired by years of distance and disagreements.
The emotional premise is told through the format of a traditional broadcast sitcom, long a genre that has tackled important topics with laughter and a light heart. And that’s exactly what Michelle Nader, who joined “Shifting Gears” as showrunner and executive producer following creators Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully’s exit before the show was greenlit, hopes to do with this new series.

Casino and The Virgin Suicides star James Woods has been live-tweeting videos of the fire near his home. This included scenes of flames licking his home’s decking and rampaging through the house of a neighbor.

A popular Tim Allen sitcom is coming to Netflix for the first time. Allen will soon be returning to the world of multi-cam comedies, as he'll star opposite Kat Dennings in the upcoming show Shifting Gears. The story centers on Matt (played by Allen), the stubborn and widowed owner of a car restoration shop who gets to reconnect with his daughter Riley (WandaVision and 2 Broke Girls star Kat Dennings) and his grandchildren when he reluctantly allows her to move back in. It will premiere on ABC on January 8 at 8 Pm Et and stream the next day on Hulu.

There was a time, not very long ago, when conservative comedy was generally dismissed. Conceptually, commentators would say, it’s a contradiction in terms, in that the purpose of comedy is to challenge systems of powers that conservatives, definitionally, seek to preserve. In practice, they only have one joke, and it’s not funny. But in a political climate in which hard-right voices are dominant, ABC evidently doesn’t need to be known as the network that summarily fired Roseanne from her namesake sitcom for one racist tweet too many; now it’s the network getting back in the Tim Allen business after cancelling his last show in 2017, and despite his many backward views and unprofessional on-set behavior. His new multi-cam sitcom, Shifting Gears, is too witless to get mad about, but it’s striking how much effort and talent it wastes trying to counter-balance a 21st-century Tim Allen character.

Tim Allen knows his niche. Between Home Improvement and Last Man Standing, Allen has spent nearly two decades on network TV playing a blue-collar, no-nonsense dad who loves his kids despite all his grumbling (and grunting). Now he’s back on ABC with Shifting Gears — debuting this Wednesday at 8/7c; I’ve seen the first two episodes — a new sitcom that’s built to be right in Allen’s wheelhouse. And despite some flat jokes and predictable turns, it’s built surprisingly well, with a lot of the credit going to co-star Kat Dennings, who proves she can go toe-to-toe...

ABC has released an extended trailer for Shifting Gears, the latest Tim Allen multi-cam that features him as a stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop who begrudgingly allows his daughter and grandkids to move into his house.
Kat Dennings plays his kin in the comedy that premieres Jan. 8. The rest of Shifting Gears main cast includes Seann William Scott as Gabriel, who also works at the shop, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell as Stitch, Maxwell Simkins as Carter and Barrett Margolis as Georgia. In December, Deadline revealed that Jenna Elfman will recur as Eve Drake, a spirited choreographer and owner of the dance studio across from Parker Customs.

ABC has released a trailer for its forthcoming comedy series Shifting Gears, which puts Tim Allen in dad mode once more — although the family he heads is a fractured one.
The series, which premieres Jan. 8, centers on Allen’s Matt and his estranged adult daughter, Riley (Kat Dennings), who moves back home with her two kids (Maxwell Simkins and Barrett Margolis) — and the classic Pontiac Gto she took from her dad — when her life hits a rough patch.
Shifting Gears marks a return to ABC for Allen, who led one of the biggest sitcoms of the 1990s in Home Improvement and starred in six seasons of Last Man Standing for the network (the latter show then moved to Fox for three more seasons). ABC placed a series order for Shifting Gears in July.

Delano died Friday of cancer in her home in Sherman Oaks, her friend Stepfanie Kramer announced.
“She was big and bold and brought her sharp wit and perfect comic timing to every role,” Kramer said. “Her earthy and raucous presence enabled her to always own the room. She was one of a kind.”

It wasn't great to be a Millennial at the top of the 2010s. Not that other folks were having a ball, but by then people of that generation had spent a solid decade growing rapidly disillusioned with the state of the world upon coming of adult age. They and millions of others had also barely gone through the worst economic recession in the lifetimes of practically anyone still alive today. Plus, on top of somehow being both broke and utterly reckless spenders (or so the "Millennials are killing [Insert Name of Industry]" think-piece cottage industry at the time would have you believe), most of them were still in their early to mid-20s, which is a trying age for anyone who's ever lived.
So, naturally, we did what we always do when we're suffering: looked for opportunities to mock our deeply privileged lives of woe.

Roseanne Barr claims that getting kicked off of Roseanne was the worst thing that ever happened to her. For Sabrina Carpenter, getting cast on it could have been even worse.
Even without Barr, the revival of the beloved 1990s sitcom Roseanne has been a huge success for ABC since The Conners first premiered in 2018. After Barr’s dismissal following her racist tweets directed at Obama administration official Valerie Jarrett, the reworked sitcom sans title character was the #1 new comedy for the 2018 season, and, though The Conners suffered the same gradual drop-off that most sitcoms see in later seasons, ABC is reportedly eyeing 2025 for the release of the seventh and final season of the now-John-Goodman-led comedy.
This means that, in some alternative universe, Sabrina Carpenter is currently getting ready to send off her Conners character Harris Conner-Healy with grace, and Emma Kenney released the song of the 2024 summer with “Espresso.”

Not many shows will spark as much discussion and controversy as CBS’s 2 Broke Girls, a sitcom that danced on the edge of humor and controversy. It follows the lives of two waitresses, Max Black, and Caroline Channing, played by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, respectively.

Earlier, it had turned out to be a rating powerhouse for the network and even became a show with many references, establishing itself in pop culture. But its no-holds-barred comedic approach seems to have backfired because the entertainment landscape is constantly evolving and the showrunners couldn’t keep up, so ultimately, it was canceled.

Having a successful six-season run with millions of loyal followers is no small feat to achieve, but still, the show met its untimely end in 2017. According to CBS, this was solely a business decision.

But its no-holds-barred comedic approach seems to have backfired because the entertainment landscape is constantly evolving and the showrunners couldn’t keep up, so ultimately, it was canceled.

We have a premiere date for the new Tim Allen sitcom Shifting Gears, so here’s what you need to know about the new ABC comedy!
Tim Allen has proven himself one of the best and most reliable comedic stars of his time. Rising up as a stand-up comic in the late 1980s, Allen hit the big time in 1991 with the ABC sitcom Home Improvement. The highly-rated sitcom lasted eight seasons to establish Allen as a comedic star. That led to further success in movies like The Santa Clause, Galaxy Quest, and voicing Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story franchise.
Allen returned to TV in 2011 in the ABC sitcom Last Man Standing, which ran for six seasons and then an additional three on Fox. He then reprised his role in the Disney+ The Santa Clauses series, while still mixing in a few turns as Buzz.

For hardcore fans, the cancellation of a beloved television show can feel like a death in the family. The ardor is sometimes so great that letter-writing campaigns are organized (like way back in the day with "Star Trek"). Occasionally, outdoor demonstrations are held. Nowadays, social media protests spreading across multiple platforms is a sure-fire way to grab the attention of networks and advertisers. Alas, at the end of the day, sometimes there's nothing to be done because it's strictly a cold, hard business decision that should look good at the next shareholders' meeting.
When series don't inflame viewers' passions, the show is left up to the whims of network programmers who value stability above all else (see: the un-killable franchise that is "Law & Order"). They realize not every series is destined to be a top 10 juggernaut, so they look for solid performance in key ratings demographics that might not show...
