Why man. I just don't get it. The acting is bad enough but the first thing that draws my eye to the lead actress is this. Why does an attractive young lady like this need to alter her appearance. What she has done to her face is painfully obvious.
The eyelash implants are absurd and unnatural looking. Then there is the lip plumping. Her lips look like they could explode and it makes me want to poke them with a pin to see what comes out. This is something reserved for the aging who've lost lip volume, not for young women wanting bigger lips.
Now that I've trashed Chelsea. The male MC is certainly handsome enough, and I love the interesting look of the secondary interest.
The story is shallow and lacking any substance and in the end, I just can't get past her face.
Lets talk about the acting because it is seriously that bad and they're conveying to us that the camera makes them nervous. I just can't get past those eyelashes and lips. Sorry. For me this is one of the things that ruins this movie.
Oh look. It's a year later, 2023, I took away a star and I'm back to once again make fun of her lashes & lips. I think they should change the name of this movie to Have a Lashy Lippy Christmas.

I could not watch past 20 minutes, and that's a lot as I was ready to switch the movie off after 5 minutes. The first hard pill to swallow was the main actress Chelsea Gilson's eyelashes and lips, it was just extremely hard to get past.
Then the acting... my daughter is a Theater major so I try not to critique too harshly and give all actors a chance but the acting was a disaster.
I was disappointed because I have enjoyed many movies Lexi Giavagnoli has been in so I was looking forward to this one.
I watch and enjoy all kind of cheesy, cliché Christmas and rom-com movies but this is a hard pass.

Firstly, I'm an avid watcher of these types of Christmas movies. I watch one-two during the daytime leading up to Christmas Eve. I like the feel-good simple romantic comedy spirit about them.
With that said... While the plot for A Merry Single Christmas seemed Christmas-y entertaining and right up my alley, between the writing (that is, the dialog) and the acting, this is completely unwatchable. I have seen better acting at high school plays. There's only one scene that was worth anything: The last scene of Juliet's, which isn't even the lead character.
I strongly suggest not wasting your time. You will want that one hour and twenty-eight minutes back...just like I do.

Its nearly impossible to engage in the plot, however simple it is. I keep expecting her eye lashes to stick together so she can't open her eyes. That much eye makeup went out years ago. I'm wondering if the actress didn't object to that much cake with the eyes, and the lips followed suit. What a beautiful girl if she had gone natural. Its also funny to count the ways production made sure all categories were covered in the group. It gets so old having the blend always be the same. Of course right down to the middle aged, overweight woman. Somewhere in this production there might have been a fun movie.
If you are looking for a feel-good movie with a talented cast, this movie is it. Chelsea Gilson and Andrew Rogers play the romantic leads with Sarah Armstrong as the quirky retreat manager. We've seen this trio together in other movies, and their experience working together is evident. Gilson, Rogers and Armstrong make the most of their characters while at the same time bring out the best in their supporting cast. The beautiful Chelsea Gilson brings kindness, sweetness and a bubbly enthusiasm to her role as Morgan, with just the right amount of sadness and vulnerability thrown in. Andrew Rogers is funny, humble and likeable as the handsome Liam. Morgan and Liam must hide their relationship history from the retreat manager, while being forced to work together on their assigned holiday 'crafts and tasks'. The pair share some wickedly icy moments in the beginning, but things do warm up when Morgan hatches a plan to create the perfect first date. Liam helps her execute the plan. Tim Shelburne, as Harry, makes us root for the underdog. This holiday movie checks all the right boxes. I recommend it.

Sometimes you really need to zone out and watch a feel good Christmas movie and that's exactly what A Merry Single Christmas delivers! The lead actors had such great on screen chemistry that I actually believed they were a real couple! I felt transformed into the movie and even dreamed about going on a retreat to get away for the holidays. The blonde actress who played the lead role was so adorable and extremely talented! The story was really cute and although we all know the formula for these movies, it will still fun to watch with a little twist! I highly recommend this movie as it's one of my new favorite "Hallmarky Holiday movies" and can't wait to watch it the second Thanksgiving is over!

If you believe the negative reviews then I have some swamp land to sell you. Very cute Christmas Rom-Com. Filmed in the Cleveland area and suburbs including Coe Lake in Berea Ohio. As Rom-Coms go it is on par for top ratings. Good story, photography, and acting. Lexi Giovanoli did a great job directing. Very much worth watching during the Holiday season. Scenes, homes, lighting done very well and look great o. Our 75" 4k Samsung. So grab the holiday beverage, hot chocolate, wine, beer and cozy up on the couch to enjoy a wonderful movie. Thanks for the fun. Shame that those that focused only on the negative and stopped watching missed a great show.

Who doesn't love watching an adorable holiday movie while setting up the Christmas tree? A Merry Single Christmas is fun, lighthearted and a great one to watch (along with all of the Hallmark classics) during the Holiday season. The actors have some real chemistry and it's fun to watch their story unfold.
The storyline is unique and unlike many of the other holiday movies we've all seen before. Kudos to the writers for stepping out of then box with a fresh take on the typical Holiday love story. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll fall in love with this cute film!
Add it to your December hit list and you won't be disappointed!

This is a cute little movie with a cast that you can't help but fall in love with
The lead actress , Chelsea Gilson, is adorable with her big smile, and she is completely believable in her role as the heart broken Morgan. She is the perfect match for the charming lead actor, Andrew Rogers, who is trying so hard to "play it cool" around her.
They look good together and there is genuine chemistry between them.
It's a cute story line - NOT exactly the same as every other Christmas romance movie. The supporting cast is likeable and sweet in their roles, and they add some fun twists to the plot line. The entire cast compliments each other and work so well together.
I definitely recommend this little movie to anyone who love Christmas movies and I would watch it again if it comes on again next year.
