Netflix giveth, and Netflix taketh away.
"Blade Runner: The Theatrical Cut" was just added to Netflix streaming, but now it's facing a harsh expiration date of May 16. (We'll be up on the roof, holding a dove and crying.)
And dude! So bogus: Unless you have a time machine, you only have until May 1st to stream "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" (1989).
Also leaving in May 2016: "Election," "Clerks," and "Black Hawk Dawn" as well as classic Marilyn Monroe movie "Bus Stop."
Here are all the movies and TV series leaving Netflix in May 2016. As always, all titles and dates are subject to change.
Leaving May 1

"Anna Karenina" (1948)

Detective Laura Diamond will have to learn the hard way that bad things happen when you mix tequila with a former Gossip Girl.

Kelly Rutherford guest-stars as an old friend of Laura’s on Wednesday’s Mysteries of Laura (NBC, 8/7c), and it appears the spirit of Lily van der Woodsen is still very much alive, as she challenges her to a PG-13 game of Truth or Dare. (Minus the Truth.)
But will Laura accept her pal’s challenge and hook up with a mysterious bar hottie?...

If you need any further proof that "Saturday Night Live" has lost whatever edge it once had, there's the news that Sarah Palin is planning to appear on the show's 40th anniversary special, airing Feb. 15. Remember, just seven years ago, Tina Fey's impression of the then-vice presidential candidate was widely credited with losing the election for her and John McCain. Since then, in speeches and Facebook posts, Palin has not been one to let a personal grievance slide. And yet, here she is, returning to the "SNL" studio at 30 Rock. This is more than just being a good sport or burying the hatchet; it's an indication that she doesn't consider whatever satirical softballs "SNL" may lob her way to be any kind of a threat. Maybe there's no such thing as bad publicity, but clearly, no prominent person, not even one as polarizing as a partisan politician, is afraid...

Well it’s that time of year again – the one where websites across the globe churn out Top 10 list after top ten list. So why should we be any different?! Yet whilst we may be following the predictable end of year lists, I can guarantee that my list is anything but predictable, featuring films from across the globe: including the Us, Canada, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and even good old Blighty!
This year more than ever there has been film after film that knocked it out of the park for me – which is why my Top 10 list has Two sections: the Top 10 and then the pick of 35(!) more brilliant movies (I would have loved this list to be a Top 45, honestly). So what’s my criteria? Well it has to be a movie I’ve seen this year, one that was released this year, i.e. making its UK debut,...

Years before they became an Emmy-winning late-night host and global music superstar, Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake were just two dorky pre-teens sharing a room at summer camp. Or at least that's the hilarious premise for the "Camp Winnipesaukee" sketch from Tuesday night's Tonight Show, in which the two roomies play an awkward game of Truth or Dare, sing a glorious duet of Third Eye Blind's angst-filled 1997 classic "Jumper" and annoy their counselor, Mr. Fletcher (played by head writer A.D. Miles).

Lifelong friendships are forged at Camp Winnipesaukee! Justin Timberlake made a surprise appearance on NBC's Tonight Show Tuesday, joining Jimmy Fallon in a sketch about two nerdy campers in 1997. The bit started with Fallon inviting his curly-haired Bff to play a game of truth or dare. "Is it weird that it's just two boys?" Timberlake asked before picking truth. "Truth or dare: do you have a crush on anyone?" Fallon asked. "Yeah," the sheepish singer confessed. "Who is it?" Fallon wondered. "Kimmy Gibbler from Full House!" Timberlake said, earning him an air-five. Fallon noticed that Timberlake was sporting a beard, which he deemed...

Several Oscar contenders are heading to New York and the Broadway stage as the Oscar season progresses in Hollywood. With projects on both coasts, these contenders could score both Tony and Oscar nominations during the upcoming awards season.
Director Bob Fosse won two Tony Awards and an Oscar in 1973. The two Tonys were for direction and choreography for Pippin and the Oscar was for directing Cabaret. Director Stephen Daldry won an Oscar for The Reader and a Tony for Billy Elliot the Musical in 2009.
Five actresses have won both awards in the same year: Shirley Booth won a Tony for The Time of the Cuckoo and an Oscar for Come Back, Little Sheba in 1953; Audrey Hepburn won a Tony for Ondine and an Oscar for Roman Holiday in 1954; Ellen Burstyn won a Tony for Same Time, Next Year and an Oscar for Alice Doesn’t...

Well this years Frightfest is over and I’ve had a week to digest everything – it’s safe to say this year was… interesting. The move from the Empire to Vue West End, whilst not without the odd teething problem, was a success. Yes, the atmosphere had changed a little, at least in terms of experiencing a film with hundreds of people instead of thousands, but the positives of the move truly outweighed any negatives. My personal positive? The wide range of films on show this year and that fact there was No problems getting into the Discovery Screens this year – which in my own case, was where I saw some of the best films of the festival.
Speaking of films, whilst there was no outstanding, totally blown me away, movie this year, there overall standard was Very high, with only one real dud of the entire week (and I...

Venice - Truth or dare? This is a game played by two characters in magnificently acidic metatextual comedy "Birdman." It's also the film as a three-word question. Truth or dare? Real stage actor or star? You can have your artistic integrity, or you can have a hit. You can go Method, or you can really fly. You can be Riggan Thomson (Michael Keaton), or you can be Birdman (Riggan Thomson). Initially, "Birdman" poses as a trenchant critique of the seemingly endless parade of men in capes that is the summer blockbuster season (Michael Fassbender and Robert Downey Jr. are name-checked as fine actors currently otherwise occupied), but it's actually rather more nuanced than that. The values of the sober-minded art espoused by a poisonous critic (Lindsay Duncan) and the untrustworthy joys of escapist cinema are both probed and prodded in this film. It's impossible for a film featuring the nightmare...

A happy 56th birthday to the Queen Herself. I was out for drinks with two friends the other night (Hi, Sue & Jordan!) and somehow the conversation turned to Madonna -- I can't remember how it got there -- and the Best Actress for Evita Golden Globe was discussed. 'Her one shot at an Oscar' ...but then of course she wasn't nominated. (1996 was an overstuffed year in Best Actress of course but even if it hadn't been, The Academy probably would have resisted.) But of course it wasn't her only shot at Oscar. They've snubbed her repeatedly in that Best Original Song category though two songs she sang but didn't write won the actual gold man ("Sooner or Later" from Dick Tracy by Stephen Sondheim and "You Must Love Me" from Evita by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber).

Fact is ... Kris and Bruce weren't even married at the time, but they were dating. The kiss was part of a Truth or Dare game, and it was more like a peck on the lips.

Matthew Davies has become the fourth housemate to leave the Big Brother 2014 house.
The 23-year-old media graduate was up for nomination alongside five other guys in the house as part of the latest Power Trip twist, but was evicted after receiving the majority of the public vote.
Matthew told Emma Willis that it felt "strange" to be out of the house and to hear his "posh, camp" voice on the Vt, but that he understood why he had been voted out.
"I think a lot of them are really likeable in the house," he explained.
"I shot myself in the foot this week... some people didn't get my sarcasm and I guess it can come across as bitchy."
When Willis mentioned his confrontation with Helen during a game of Truth or Dare, Matthew cringed.
"Oh do we have to?" he said as the footage began to play.

Big Brother housemate Matthew Davies has admitted that he doesn't like most of the people still on the show.
Matthew - whose friend Toya Washington was evicted on Friday (June 27) - explained in the Diary Room yesterday that his mood has become "lower and lower".
"I'm out of my comfort zone," he said. "I don't really like most of the people in this house... I don't really like the cliques and the dynamic."
Matthew went on to say that Marlon Wallen "should be embarrassed" about his behaviour but reserved most of his ire for Helen Wood, with whom he fell out last week over a game of Truth or Dare.
Suggesting that the female housemates are scared of Helen, he said: "That's why Kim [Kisselovich] and Jale [Karaturp] are friends with her. Not because they have genuine relationships with her... or genuine common interests... They're afraid of her."
Later, Matthew also discussed Helen with Christopher Hall,...

Big Brother housemates Helen Wood and Matthew Davies exploded in a hurl of "saggy boob" and "pigeon chested" insults after a game of Truth or Dare went horribly wrong on Tuesday night (June 24).
The argument appears to have kicked off when Matthew said that he was not playing the game, prompting Helen to tell him to "bore the f**k off".
When Matthew questioned why she was getting rude when he just didn't want to talk about sex, Helen replied: "It's a joke. He sat back saying, 'This is why I don't play' - don't f**king play then! Why are you playing? If you're not playing, why are you contributing with your f**king mouth?"
Matthew fuelled the fire by telling Helen: "Close your mouth, maybe you should learn to close it for once."

This week's "Ask Drew" covered some ground, which is exactly how we want to do it. You guys hit the video team with a ton of questions, and every single one got read by someone. I was worried that after the first episode, this was going to turn into some sort of oddball game of "Truth Or Dare" each time. I should have trusted the awesome video team here, though. They selected the questions, and I saw them for the first time as we began recording the episode. You gave us some great valuable feedback last time, and we've made some small adjustments to the format and the staging this time. No more sealed envelopes. We let things run a little longer. Written by Paul Simms
Directed by Jamie Babbit
Airs Sundays at 10 Pm on HBO
In “Free Snacks”, Girls gets to flex its comedy muscles, and writer Paul Simms sticks hilarious words in the mouths of Hannah (Lena Dunham) and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet). But he also crafts those two characters’ overall arcs along with giving Mamet rapid fire dialogue that would make her father smile and letting Dunham emote about food and writing, mainly food. This episode is a lot of fun, and good things happen for Hannah, Adam (Adam Driver), and Ray (Alex Karpovsky). However, like most episodes of Girls, “Free Snacks” has a dark lining, mostly having to do with Hannah feeling like a corporate sell-out and Ray and Marnie’s (Allison Williams) mutual loneliness.
Girls Season 3 has been much funnier than Season 2 (especially “Truth or Dare”), and Simms has exchanged some of...

Dappy put his head up Luisa Zissman's top on last night's (15.01.14) 'Celebrity Big Brother' after being dared to do so. The N-Dubz rapper cranked up the sexual tension levels in the house yet again this series during a drunken game of Truth or Dare when, after he had passionately kissed the former 'Apprentice' star's neck, Jasmine Waltz challenged him to go one step further. After Dappy opted to do another dare, she said: ''Stick your head up Luisa's top and suck her nipples.'' Dappy wasted no time getting down in front of the brunette beauty, who was sat on a...

"Girls" returned for Season 3 on Sunday (Jan. 12) and, after a shaky second season that tended to go dark and lacked in humor, the HBO series gave lapsed fans plenty of proof that Season 3 is the time to get back on the train to Brooklyn.
1. The comedy is back
Look, first and foremost, the back-to-back episodes were hysterical. Whereas most of Season 2 felt as if it was an exercise in depressing viewers, this premiere brought the funny. The writing was punched up with punchlines, as well as observational moments that were just Lol-worthy. Hannah (Lena Dunham) and her editor eating those chocolate cups? Great. Marnie (Allison Williams) and the taco incident? Hilarious. Shoshanna's (Zosia Mamet) Truth or Dare game with Adam (Adam Driver) and Hannah in the hotel room? Just perfect.
2. Rita Wilson as Marnie's mom
Finally, we understand why Marnie is the neurotic mess that she is. Rita Wilson was spot-on as her testy,...

If you missed the two-part season premiere of Girls on Sunday night because of the Golden Globes — or, you know, living your life — HBO wants to help you catch up before Sunday’s brand-new episode. The network has just made the first two episodes of season 3 available online for free.
The series premiere offers a look into where our favorite 20-something New Yorkers are now — Hannah is playing house with Adam and making headway on her e-book, Shoshanna is busy exploring her sexuality after dumping Ray, Jessa is in the middle of a stint in rehab in upstate New York,...

With single Marnie living with her mom, Shoshanna living it up and Hannah and Adam reunited, Girls' double season premiere episodes "Females Only" and "Truth or Dare" seem to pose the question: what is a good friend? Can someone be a good friend to the one they love and an utter terror to himself and other people? Are terrible instincts about friendship more detrimental than begrudging friendship floating on top of a bubbling cauldron of rage? "Females Only" starts with Adam's erstwhile fling Natalia (Shiri Appleby) and her buddy...

Airs Sundays at 10pm (Est) on HBO
A common complaint from Girls viewers is that the protagonists are quite unsympathetic, especially its main character Hannah Horvath (Lena Dunham). This criticism seems to have made it into this episode. The story picks up a few months after the traumatic events of Season Two, and Hannah’s life is actually pretty stable by her standards. She is living with Adam (Adam Driver) and is having her work regularly published online. Marnie (Allison Williams) is coming off a painful breakup, but is moving into a new apartment. Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) is getting the most out of her last year in college by alternating between “sexual adventures” and studying. Jessa (Jemima Kirke) is in rehab. In “Female Only”, Dunham uses outside observers,...

The article below contains spoilers for "Females Only" and "Truth or Dare," the January 12th, 2014 episodes of "Girls." Of all the reveals in the first two episodes of season three of "Girls," the least surprising may be that Hannah (Lena Dunham) loves Truth or Dare. As someone who has made a habit of unstinting, sometimes ill-advised and often unasked-for honesty ("I was playing Truth or Dare the first time I got fingered!") and who is all too used to humiliation, it's a game that plays to all of her strengths, even if Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) is entertainingly awful at coming up with dares. One could say that Hannah's whole life has been one big game of "Truth or Dare" with herself. The most surprising aspect of the double feature may be how well Hannah is doing at the start of this new season -- spectacularly well, really, given how things had been going before,...

Judd Apatow and fellow Girls producer Jenni Konner took to Lena Dunham’s defense when a reporter questioned the actress and writer about why she appears naked in the HBO comedy series.
Apatow and Konner joined Dunham, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet and Jemima Kirke for a panel at the Television Critics Association press tour, where they took questions about the show.
Reporter Question's Lena Dunham's Nudity On 'Girls'
“I don’t get the purpose of all the nudity on the show — by [Dunham] in particularly,” started one reporter, according to Entertainment Weekly. “I feel like I’m walking into a trap where you go, ‘Nobody complains about all the nudity on Game of Thrones,’ but I get why they do it. They do it to be salacious and titillate people. And your character is often nude at random times for no reason.”
Since the question was directed at Dunham,...

I originally read a short review of Truth or Die (a.k.a Truth or Dare) in an issue of a horror magazine. The magazine gave it a fairly positive review so I went into it with somewhat high expectations. Truth or Die revolves around young British people who travel to a cabin in the woods after being promised a night of partying. What they get however is a night of revenge executed by the older brother of another teen who they bullied into his own suicide.

On this week's Sleepy Hollow Round Rable, we discuss "For the Triumph of Evil." Some of the topics on the board include the Sandman's worthiness in the Army of Evil, the introduction of Jenny and whether Captain Irving is still giving off suspicious vibes.

What were your initial impressions of Jenny?
Hank: She seemed really angry but of course, we soon learn why. Jenny's meeting with Ichabod, showed us that she has a sense of humor. I love Abbie and I'm hoping if Jenny does join their fight, she's able to forgive and leave the past behind. I certainly don't want to see her mistreating Abbie every episode, I'd...

A British hitman movie, starring Tim Roth, owes a debt to a little-known 1980s Us noir thriller, superbly crafted by Eric Red, which deserves to be better known
Twenty years ago, when I first started reading credits of movies I loved to see who'd written the screenplay, one name leapt out at me: Eric Red. In the space of three years in the late 1980s he wrote the terrifying Rutger Hauer road movie The Hitcher and two brilliant genre movies for a young director called Kathryn Bigelow: the trailer-trash vampire movie Near Dark, and Blue Steel, a feminist cop movie with Jamie Lee Curtis as a rookie up against an amorous serial killer. The first two of those have gone on to become bona fide cult classics. But Red remains little known – as does the film of his I really loved, one he wrote and directed in 1988, Cohen and Tate.

MTV's Ke$ha docuseries, "My Crazy Beautiful Life," will air at 11 p.m. on April 23, the network announced Wednesday. A new clip sees the "Tik Tok" singer fellating a cannoli and pushing her breasts onto a woman's face, so, no, no surprises here.
The special shares the same name as Ke$ha's book and promises an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at a pop star we're supposed to believe is misunderstood. If this sounds familiar, it's because every single pop act, from Beyonce ("Life Is But a Dream") to Katy Perry ("Katy Perry the Movie: Part of Me") to Justin Bieber ("Never Say Never") has tried to tell us that we really don't know them and then made some film or TV feature that confirms everything we already imagined (Beyonce's obsessed with her image, Katy Perry is actually pretty nice, Justin Bieber is a boy). This is an old trick, hearkening back to Madonna's 1991 "Truth or Die.

It never helps when a half-decent indie horror film is saddled with a title that's confusing, generic, or vague. There is an endless amount of solid (or at least decent) horror indies to be found on Amazon, iTunes, and Netflix -- so one could be forgiven for confusing "Truth or Dare" with "Truth or Die" or for mistaking "Would You Rather" with "Did You Know" or perhaps "Spin the Bottle." (How has there not been a horror film called "Spin the Bottle" yet??) Anyway, all of this is a hopefully amusing way to open a review with the opinion that, yes, the strange, savage, and appreciably dark Would You Rather is considerably more interesting than its (confusing/vague/generic) title may indicate.
The phrase "Would You Rather," as you probably know, is a reference to a game teenagers play. ("Would you rather kiss Janie or.... lick a dog's food bowl?...

Many thanks to all the readers who entered our Halloween costume contest this year! We had a great time sorting through all the entries and imagining the awesome parties you were attending, either on actual Halloween last Wednesday or the weekend before. There are a lot of creative people among you, and some of these homemade costumes were so intricate and perfectly executed they could have stepped right off a movie set. But there can only be one winner of the 10-disc DVD giveaway, and that big winner is Ricardo Romero, whose spot-on costume of Pennywise from It will be haunting us as much as the original movie did. Take a look at two of the photos he submitted below. Ricardo will win the 10-disc set from Bloody Disgusting Selects, including the brand-new release Truth or Die. But of course, we can't get so many awesome costume contest submissions and...

Robert Heath, director of horror film “Truth or Die,” said that when he first read the script for the film, he was impressed with its entertaining pace. “I’ve read a lot of horror scripts over the last 10 years and this one was something that wasn’t completely the most original idea in the world and the characters weren’t that original, but there was something about it that was well-paced,” he said. “…[M]ost of the scripts I’ve read over the last 10 years…I just sort of [would think] ‘Well, I know what’s going to happen next.’ This one, I actually felt it was a great read.
