Exclusive: South Asian film star Taapsee Pannu has signed for representation with Crimson Media.

She becomes the latest Indian talent to sign with Crimson this year, coming after the likes of Farhan Akhtar, Sayani Gupta and Rajshri Deshpande.

Pannu, who works across Hindi, Telugu and Tamil film, is coming off 2023 hit Dunki, where she appeared opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rajkumar Hirani’s feature about an illegal immigration technique called ‘donkey flight.’

In Tamil film, her notable roles gave come in the likes of 2011’s Aadukalam, comic horror Kanchana 2, tense action thriller Arrambam and thriller Game Over. In Telugu cinema, she first gained attention from her role in K Raghavendra Rao’s 2010 feature Jhummandi Naadam and romantic drama Mr. Perfect, which also starred Prabhas.

The announcement was made by Sun Pictures on Sunday evening on its official Twitter handle. Tentatively titled D44, the movie will be the fourth collaboration between Sun Pictures and Dhanush. The previous three outings of the team were Padikathavan, Mappillai and the National award winning movie Aadukalam. Apart from the tentative title, no other details are known about the project yet. Actor Dhanush, meanwhile, has a slew of films in his lineup. He is currently shooting for Karthik Subbaraj’s untitled film. After wrapping up the first schedule that went on the floors in London earlier this year and was wrapped up in 60 days, the actor has resumed shooting for the film.

Actor Dhanush, who is also an established singer, has revealed that he has crooned a raw, soothing number for the upcoming Tamil revenge drama Asuran, directed by Vetrimaaran.

Actor-composer G.V. Prakash Kumar took to Twitter to announce that he has recorded a song called "Pollathaboomi", featuring voices of Dhanush, Ken Karunas and Tee Jay.

"Dhanush, Ken and Tee Jay sing a song together in Yugabharathi's lyrics. A peppy track on way for Vetrimaaran," tweeted Prakash, who previously made Dhanush sing in his films such as Pollathavan?and Aadukalam.

Dhanush tweeted that he had fun recording the song and that he can't wait for audiences to listen to it.

"I am very kicked about presenting this game-changing film in Hindi. This film proves yet again that the quality of filmmaking from the south is just outstanding and it's great to see how Ashwin Saravanan (director) has pushed the boundaries and has made a genre-bending film, something that we all have never seen before," Kashyap said in a statement.

The film marks Taapsee's return to the Tamil film industry. She had earlier featured in "Aadukalam" and "Vandhaan Vendraan".

The upcoming film is a thriller that unfolds inside a house.

"For whatever little trust I have built in my audience for my choice of films. I am very confident that I will strengthen the belief further with 'Game Over'," she said.

This year, the 46th International Film Festival of India has become a memorable and learning experience for cinema lovers and aspiring filmmakers. With its newly introduced special series titled “In Conversation”, the festival has been able to bridge the gap between the audience and the filmmakers and create a platform for discussion on art and craft of films. The series offered film lovers a unique opportunity to travel down the memory lane with path-breaking Indian directors like Rajkumar Hirani, Madhur Bhandarkar, Shyam Benegal, Vettrimaran, Kaushik Ganguli, Priyadarshan, Anand L Rai and Singeetham Srinivasa Rao among others.

Mumbai, Feb 27: Actress Taapsee Pannu, known for Telugu and Tamil films "Mr. Perfect" and "Aadukalam", respectively, now wants to try her hand at Hindi movies and has shifted from Chennai to Mumbai, the hub of the Hindi film industry.

"Moving to Mumbai was a conscious decision and it's something that I have been planning for long. I had been living out of my suitcase, so it made complete sense to have a place here that I can call home," Taapsee said in a statement.

She made her Bollywood debut with David Dhawan's "Chashme Baddoor" in 2013. Her next is "Running Shaadi.com".

Chennai, July 29: After the overwhelming success of recently released Tamil romantic-drama "Ethir Neechal", which was produced by Dhanush's home banner, the actor has decided to produce his yet-to-be-titled next project as well.

"Guys, glad to announce on my birthday that we just designed a project in Wunderbar Films, starring myself and Amala Paul," Dhanush posted on his Twitter page Sunday.

The film will be helmed by debutant director Velraj, who had previously worked as cinematographer in Dhanush's films such as "Polladhavan", "Aadukalam" and "3".

Composer Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to take care of the music.

Chennai, July 17: Actor Dhanush, who is busy wrapping up Tamil comedy "Naiyaandi", will team up for the third time with filmmaker Vetri Maaran for an upcoming yet untitled Tamil project, expected to go on floors in November.

"I'm in the process of finalising the female lead. This process should be done in a few weeks. I have also done test shoot on a few actresses, but nothing has been finalised yet. If all goes as planned, then we will start shooting from November," the film's director Vetri Maaran, told Ians.

Mumbai, May 14: Southern star Dhanush, who is set for his Bollywood debut with "Raanjhanaa", says he will soon launch his own music label and it will be called - Wunderbar Studio.

"Hey guys we have decided to launch our own music label soon under the name Wunderbar Studio. Will make an official announcement soon," tweeted the 29-year-old.

Dhanush made his acting debut in Tamil cinema with 2002 movie "Thulluvadho Ilamai" and has since heworked in over 28 Tamil films. He also won the best actor National Award for his performance in "Aadukalam".

"Raanjhanaa", which stars Sonam Kapoor in the female lead, is set to release June.

Chennai, May 3: After successful Tamil films such as "Pollathavan" and National Award winning "Aadukalam", actor Dhanush and filmmaker Vetrimaaran will team up to work in an untitled Tamil venture to be produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri.

"The script is locked for Dhanush-Vetrimaaran project. The technical team is finalised and pre-production work will start in full swing," said producer Dhayanidhi in one of his tweets.

They will make a detailed announcement soon, he said and added that the project has materialised after "three-year" long wait. "We are finally here and it's time to lock and load," he further posted.

Chennai, April 16: Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj, who reaped gold with Tamil blockbuster "Pizza", has roped in southern actor Siddharth for his untitled second Tamil-Telugu bilingual project.

"Karthik will direct Siddharth in a mega budget project, which will be simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalised," said a statement from the production house.

Kathiresan, known for producing Tamil films such as "Pollathavan" and "Aadukalam", will produce the film under his home banner Five Star Movies.
