John Boyega's feature film debut came in 2011 with the release of Joe Cornish's excellent alien invasion film "Attack the Block." Boyega, striking and intense, immediately caught the attention of those who saw Cornish's film, and he would almost immediately go on to appear in numerous British TV and film projects like "Becoming Human" and "Law & Order: UK." In 2015, he appeared before a global audience with the release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," one of the biggest box office hits of all time. Despite his immediate high profile, Boyega remained pragmatic, even cynical about his new place in the pop culture firmament. In a 2019 interview with Variety, Boyega was asked about the potential of expanding his "Star Wars" role beyond feature films, to which he responded, "You ain't gonna Disney+ me."
Indeed, Boyega often seems to have an eye on his career trajectory. In a recent interview with The Daily Beast,...

While Xbox may have revealed several new systems for their players, Sony’s annual E3 press conference was all about the games, especially when it came to their plans for Playstation Vr this year.
First up was the return of fan-favorite Kratos in God of War, who hasn’t been seen since 2010’s God of War 3. Depicting Kratos and his son hunting in the forest, they encounter a Troll and Kratos takes him down with his signature melee combat. No specific release date was shown but the footage looked spectacular.
Next, a trailer for a new Playstation 4 exclusive, Days Gone was unveiled. From what we can gather, Days Gone about an apocalyptic and abandoned world and centers around a biker gang. Sony also ended the conference with Days Gone, showing some extended gameplay featured the main character fighting off hoards of zombies in an abandoned train yard trying to survive. No word on release yet.
A demo for another new property, Horizon: Zero Dawn was also shown. The open-world game featured a world where all animals are machined out of parts that the player is able to break down for different uses. With huge mechanical dinosaurs and tons of abilities, this looks to be a very cool and stylized adventure game.
The next game Song revealed was titled Detroit: Become Human. The player takes control of an android hostage negotiator by the name of Connor an in the demo, a rooftop hostage situation between Connor and another android who is threatening to drop a little girl off the ledge. Once Connor fails his mission, time rewinds to show other steps he could have taken to ensure the girl’s safety. In Detroit: Becoming Human, it seems that you must read people and make correct choices in order to get your desired outcome. This is definitely one to check out as it seems like it has infinite playing possibilities to explore.
Capcom then confirmed that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is coming later this year, showing off a killer trailer for the upcoming new entry in the Survival Horror game’s legacy. Game footage followed a player moving through a dilapidated house with figures moving around in the shadows. As the main character enters a room with a ringing phone, he answers to hear a voice say, “They will kill you if you don’t get out of there,” just before the trailer ends. The big reveal was that Resident Evil 7 will be playable all the way through on the upcoming PlayStation Vr. The Playstation Vr seems worth it alone just to play this game, as it looks immersive and really creepy. A demo is now available for PlayStation Plus members to try for free and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be officially released on October 13th, 2016.
Speaking of Playstation Vr, the add-on peripheral will set you back $399 and boasts an impressive 50 available titles at launch, including Resident Evil 7, Star Wars Battlefront X-Wing Vr and Batman Arkham Vr. You can get your hands on the Playstation Vr on October 13, 2016.
Activision Blizzard debuted a new trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare showcasing an epic battle aboard a space station, which is definitely way out of character for the Call of Duty series. It will be released on November 4, 2016. Also announced was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, which will be bundled with premium editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare later this year as well.
A trailer for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens then played, featuring the whole cast in Lego form in various scenes from the film. Like previous Lego games, this will surely be fun for fans of previous Lego games and Star Wars fans alike. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on June 28, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. There is also a demo that is available now.
With the one-two punch of Hideo Kojima and a digital Norman Reedus in the buff, Sony and Kojima Productions dropped the trailer for Death Stranding. Little information was revealed in the trailer, which only showed a character played by Reedus waking up covered with scars and dusty handprints, on a beach surrounded by dead whales and fish. Kojima kept things mysterious for Death Stranding so hopefully more will be revealed soon.
Sony closed out their E3 press conference with a presentation from Insomniac Games, the creators of the Ratchet & Clank series, had a new Spider-Man game to show off. Teaming with Marvel, Insomniac has created a brand-new story centered around the web-slinger exclusively for the Playstation 4. The trailer, narrated by who is revealed to be Peter Parker, shows game play mechanics you would hope for from a Spider-Man game, and all the movement looks super fluid. No official release date was given.

Next on our list of salutes to BBC Three geek favourites: Toby Whithouse's much-missed Being Human...
It started off as a joke, a silly fantasy twist on a generic sitcom premise, but Being Human somehow, against more odds than we remember years later, ended up becoming one of the defining British genre shows of the decade. It was both of its time back in the vampire-saturated late noughties and classic in the way few shows manage to be. It was lightning in a bottle, and much of its power came from just how unexpected it was.
Back in 2009, BBC Three wasn't known for quality genre drama. The BBC arm aimed at tempting the eyeballs of the notoriously difficult to engage 16-34 age bracket, the channel had been going through an identity crisis since its inception and needed something to define it as an entity in and of itself.

20 year old newcomer Sally Messham, a final year student at Rada, has been cast as Jane Watkins, the daughter of exorcist Merrily, in ITV Encore’s new three-part drama Midwinter of the Spirit.
Sally (represented by Curtis Brown), will leave Rada early to take up the role alongside the double BAFTA award-winning actress Anna Maxwell-Martin who leads the cast as Merrily Watkins, a single mother who isn’t your average country vicar.
Merrily’s newly acquired training has put her on the dark side of the pulpit. She’s become one of the few women priests working as an exorcist - a job increasingly mistrusted by the modern Church and rarely talked about, even though it operates in virtually every diocese in the UK.
Merrily is deeply human in her doubts and scepticism, but her knowledge of the paranormal underworld brings her to the notice of local police who need...

With the major cast of Jj Abrams's Star Wars: Episode VII confirmed at long last, the hyperactive rumour mill isn't likely to wind down so much as shift focus - who are these people playing? How many roles are still to be cast? How involved is George Lucas, exactly?
But in the meantime, let's take a look at the seven actors that have been confirmed. While many of them couldn't be described as unknowns, a few of them do fall squarely into the "that guy" category - you've seen them in a handful of movies, but you may not know their name.

Being Human U.K. fans figured Aidan Turner’s bloodsucker Mitchell wasn’t long for the show the second Peter Jackson cast the actor in The Hobbit. But did they also assume he wasn’t long for the world? Perhaps… primarily because the majority of this current season centered on a prophecy that Mitchell (who murdered 20 people on a Bristol train) would be slain by a werewolf — the knowledge of which sent him spiraling from a determined hero to paranoid lunatic. Not even the love of a good woman — or ghost, i.e. Lenora Crichlow’s Annie — could save him.

After the success of webseries Becoming Human (which attracted 1.5 million hits online), BBC3 were encouraged to stitch the eight episodes together into one 50-minute special that aired last night — premiering the story’s conclusion in the process. But I’m sure this was the Beeb’s intention from the start, considering the production standards of the webisodes, and its clear intention to become a full-blooded TV spin-off to Being Human.
Becoming Human has largely the same premise as its parent series, only with adolescent characters and a few gender swaps. If Being Human’s high-concept logline was “a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost share a house together”, Becoming Human wonders what would happen if a vampire, a werewolf and ghost went to school together. Continuing the story of Adam (Craig Roberts) from Being Human’s “Adam’s Family”, the 46-year-old vampire trapped in the body of a 17-year-old enrolls...

Directed by Moss from The It Crowd, Submarine stars Craig Roberts (the young vampy boy from Being/Becoming Human) as Oliver Tate. Oliver is a very smart, very serious, fifteen year old with designs on busting his cherry with schoolmate Jordana. This hard to get, blunt fringed, cutie is portrayed by Yasmin Paige – an all grown up Maria Jackson from The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Oliver divides his time between delivering a sardonic voiceover, the attempted pulling and plucking of Jordana and trying to keep his parents together in spite of the threat of a new-age numpty played by Paddy Considine (Hot Fuzz and Dead Man’s Shoes).
