[last lines]
Barney: Tell you what. Why don't we sit over here and I'll read you a bedtime story!
Amy: Oh good!
Barney: [giggles] Oh boy.
[Barney, Michael and Amy make their way to the couch and sit down]
Barney: Okay.
[sighs]
Michael: [Michael hands Barney a book, which suddenly becomes bigger once Barney touches it] Whoa, what's this?
Barney: [giggles] Well, I forgot my spectacles. Oh, this is a special story, all about Santa Claus. Ready?
[as Barney begins to read the story, Santa sneaks into the room. He quietly begins eating the cookies and leaving presents around the room]
Barney: Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads, and mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap,
[as Barney reads, he begins to feel sleepy, as Santa continues unloading the presents]
Barney: [yawns] When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, tore open the shutters and...
[yawns]
Barney: threw up the sash.
[sleepily]
Barney: When what to my wondering eyes did appear, but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer
[yawns and his voice weakens]
Barney: With a little... .
[yawns]
Santa Claus: [Santa turns to find Barney, Michael and Amy all asleep on the couch. He finishes off placing down the presents, as Barney continues to snore. Santa walks to the lamp next to the couch, when he looks up at the viewer, whispering] Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
[he turns off the lamp, and the scene transitions to Santa flying past the moon on his sleigh, being pulled by his reindeer]
Santa Claus: Ho, Ho, Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas!
[he flies off into the night, as the episode ends]
