So, does Golmaal Again deliver the laughs? The guffaws that echoed through the cinema from the first scene itself, meant it probably did. The director wastes no time starting off with the tale of how six kids from Jamnadas Orphanage spend a frolicking childhood together until they're eventually separated; only to meet again in rather unexpected circumstances. Lucky's (Tusshar) 'oohhaa-oohhaa', Gopal's (Ajay) fear of spirits, Laxman 1's (Kunal) senseless one-liners, Madhav's (Arshad) over smartness and Laxman 2's (Shreya) slurry speech, all prove to be the perfect ingredients to create a khichadi called Golmaal. However, unlike the other films from the franchise, Golmaal Again sees Ajay's character taking centrestage, displaying machoism and comedy in equal measure. This is a little disappointing since the humour from the other four characters gets completely side-lined. And truth be told, we can all do with a little less of Ajay Devgn in our lives. Moving on to the female leads, Anna (Tabu) who plays the librarian of the orphanage and the person who connects to spirits is underutilised as all she does throughout the film is try to chaperon a bunch of confused souls. Khushi (Parineeti) is the ghost (Yes, you heard that right) and is mostly seen supporting the male leads. This is a sheer waste of two talented actresses who have proved their comic worth in the past. But when did Rohit Shetty's films ever be about proper characterisation or things like plot, depth and meaning?! The story (yes, there is one here!) moves from being a simple comedy to a group of orphans seeking revenge for the death of their caretaker and moh boli sister, Khushi. Over here, let's take a moment to appreciate the comic timing of Bollywood's ultimate laughter machine- Johnny Lever who proves to be the perfect addition to the group of goofballs. A romantic angle is needlessly inserted, portraying a budding relationship between Ajay's character and Parineeti's (after all Ajay is hero no.1, na?) but that too doesn't make an impact, overshadowed by all the buffoonery around. Overall, Golmaal Again is an entertaining watch targeted at families looking for a harmless break. Not one to take an instant liking to slapstick humour, it took me some convincing to understand the essence, but once I submitted to the madness, I found myself chuckling on many occasions. (Note to self: keep brains well locked behind while walking into such films). Golmaal Again is packed with so many sub-plots that at one point, you may find yourself losing track of what the core is all about. But clearly, the writer's intention is not to convince you. The lead stars have enough chemistry and charisma to make you stay put in the theatre and you won't regret the three hours spent watching this one. If however, you like to take your brains with you to the movies, this Golmaal might not be the way to spend a memorable Diwali.

All the rest of the series kept being less funny one after another and this 4th was worst work..
Golmaal 1 = Best no doubt 10 Golmaal 2 = melodrama but still 5 of 10 Golmaal 3 = overacting and crap 2/10 Golmaal 4 = I hope imdb ever introduce NEGATIVE rankings..

GOLMAAL AGAIN REVIEW : Logic Nahi, Only Magic... The tagline already told you to keep your brain at home when you go out to watch the film. I agree, it's a good idea but how far you can tolerate illogical things? That depends on everyone's individual mind. I have enjoyed watching Golmaal films in theater only, watched 2, 3 and now 4th one in theater and Golmaal Fun Unlimited still remains the best film of the Franchise, and i don't think even Rohit can ever think to make a better film than it. For me, Golmaal Again comes 3rd best after Golmaal 1 and Golmaal 3 while Golmaal 2 holds the last spot.
Golmaal Again starts very slowly, i have never seen previous films starting this much slow. Unexpectedly this one became story-oriented for first 30 minutes and then as expected Laugh riot starts and makes you laugh hard with Jokes, punches and entertains with Action. First half was approximately 90 minutes long and that's a surprise for me, i never expected this much longer fun but if you see actually then those story oriented first 30 minutes looks useless so you count only next 60 minutes which defines the franchise value. Second half is less entertaining than first half but it has emotions (some of them doesn't really connect due to no logic thing) and then predictable happy ending climax ends this fun ride. Acting wise everyone is ordinary but i don't think this film really needs acting skills. Cinematography is High Scale, Production value speaks through visuals. This one has to be most Lavish film ever in the Franchise as well as in Rohit's career. Credit goes to technical team for eye pleasing VFX work. Music is Dull, Title Song is Best Cinematic Experience in theater this year, that Carnival, choreography and that Bass is just WOW. Other Songs are irritating and useless. Screenplay looks lose because of useless Songs and too much flashback stories. Direction is Strictly Average, Writing saved the film otherwise Rohit almost made a crap. The only thing for which Rohit needs to be appreciated is that he gave exactly what audience wanted at those moments, when you expect Fight, Fight scenes happens. When you expect Comedy, it happens, when you expect a twist, it comes so credit definitely goes to Rohit Shetty. But i must say, Rohit has lost his old touch, come on man we don't want you to deliver a one time watch every time, we want High Repeat value films too. Hope he Makes it soon.
Film has some illogical moments and forgettable but some are just over and you ask question yourself that if this can happen without any problems then why the hell were those entire flashback stories build up? Excluding these minuses Film has everything what you expect from a typical Golmaal franchise film. Overall, Golmaal Again is a Sweet Diwali dish for families which should be tasted once. As far as Box Office is concerned this film will be unstoppable for first week but then it is likely to slow down in second week as it lacks that repeat value. I'm going with 6/10* stars. Go For This One but don't expect a Logic, just enjoy the Magic, Laugh, recover your money and forget it.

Don't watch whatsoever, Worst movie, i do not know why this director and these actors wasting their time as well as the public time. Alright they can do other work like movie talks, dancing, singing unwanted music, they can do some worst shows on streets, they can play in gullies etc. but please do not make movies like these. I do not know about the producer mind why he is wasting his money on this director. This director do not know what a movie is.

A very good movie filled with nice comedy, colorful scenes, emotion, music, sounds secret, good story and dialogs. A Must watch in theater for fun time and full Entertainment.
Go for it. If you like fun movies and liked Golmaal movies then you will definitely love this movie. This one is actually way better than second and third part.

I have just done watching the movie, really had to come and write the review about it as it was the only worst movie i have ever watched from Rohit shetty. Every other movie he made was some way or the other good. But when it comes to the sequel of golmaal, where i had a lot of expectations to the name it self, came out to be really disgraceful. It was such a time waste watching the movie, no proper story no proper timing for anything, The worst part was it was not focused on the primary characters at all, leaving behind the character comedy it went with something else, also the story line was too main stream and could be predicted easily. Never expected this from Rohit Shetty.

Writing a review on a Diwali release is, I think, not recommendable. Because in India, this is the only festival, where people meet and greet with their relatives for at least 3 days. These days are having the highest number of viewers watching cinema in a theater. Therefore, I'm sure you will going to watch this one, as it is known that Golmaal is a fun entertainer which can be seen together with an entire family.
So, Rohit Shetty and team are back after exactly 10 years (Golmaal 3 in 2007 Diwali) with 4th installment of the biggest comedy-movie franchise. This time, after doing a lot in comic genre, they are introducing ghosts and spirits in Golmaal Again. The story of an orphanage owner and his children. Entire story has been developed around that orphanage. And let me tell you one more thing, it is a revenge story! I'm not talking about anyone's performance, as we all know that they can act good. I was amazed to see Prakash Raj doing dancing in the second half. And in that scene, you can not miss Johny Lever's talent, too. Oh man, he is the best comedian. The Bhulaa act is very known, but you will laugh out loud in the mike act. It was the best hilarious moment for me. Though, I was laughing very loudly in the film around 15 times. So, believe me, this is the comedy, a laugh-out-loud one.
But, as a matter of fact, I don't consider it a comedy film. As the base is completely different from other Golmaals. Despite having spiritual connections, these characters are more realistic. Also, this is the finest work of visuals by Rohit and team. Each frame of spirits or magics has been executed superbly. In addition to that, there is beautiful Ooty. You would not, even once, look anywhere apart from screen. So, I would say this is the best Rohit Shetty & Team work.
I was not expecting great. But unfortunately or say fortunately, my ticket money has been recovered during the title song itself. Rohit Shetty's comedy films are my The Most Priority to go to city's best theater for the sake of watching the title song. I was tapping my foot continuously, even my teeth were dancing, too! So much of colours and beats and dancers and cars, and what not! This song describes how big this franchise is! Rohit's films do not have classic songs, so do this. In the beginning itself I got the suspense, but it was not for the climax, just the bomb at interval. Hehe! That was a mistake I think, as it was clearly predictable. Other than that, in the second half, I feel that humor level was lower because the story is unfolding. That is why it looks slower. Though, comedy is at its peek in the first half. And everyone was laughing, clapping and enjoying around me.
For me, this Diwali clash winner is undoubtedly Golmaal Again. I will go with my family again. For rating, I would like to give the installment number, 4. This horror-comedy genre in a well known franchise by Rohit and team have been attempt successfully. Kudos to all. Enjoy festivals with this year's biggest Bollywood commercial film.
At last, whether you call it a comedy (C-O-M-A, Comedy) or a ghost story (G-S-T, Ghost), I would like to term it as a Blockbuster (B-L-A-C-K-B-U-C-K, Blockbuster) entertainer!

I thought after 3 films this was gonna be a crappy and cliché movie. But i actually ended up enjoying it and i think it was a great movie. Its not an award winning film and there is more drama than any other in the series but not a bad movie by any measure. That is all that matters, give it a chance and you might end up having some laughs. I know i did.

Does not deserve it...I would have rated it 0 if available...Rohit bhai....making such films does not entertain anybody. Never expected such a bad bad movie from Rohit shetty and team, just the waste of time money and patience, no words to explain how bad it is.

I already knew that this movie is going to be a big torture since I had lost confidence in Rohit Shetty after his big blunders- Dilwale and Golmaal 3. But since I had already watched Secret Superstar with my friends and my parents wanted to watch a movie, I had to choose Golmaal Again. And Trust me, it was worse than what I thought. It was like a nightmare to tolerate this garbage for 2.5 hours. I could have left the theater in the middle, but my parents said that it would be a wastage of money, which we had spent for tickets. So I sat and watched.
Now coming to the essence, this movie has only a few seconds during which you can actually laugh. Seriously I am not exaggerating anything, the movie has only one or two scenes during which I really felt to laugh that too for very few seconds. Now rating each and every sphere of the movie.
Story: The film doesn't have any story-line. Nothing!!! A plain boring journey with no humor, no horror, and suspense. I agree, film poster already says "no logic only magic", but at least there should be some humor, there should be some good performances. But not a single moment of entertainment. Plain boring and forced story (not worth telling at all). 0/10 for the story.
Direction: Another dismal and miserable attempt of Rohit Shetty to make people laugh and this time it has got worse than it could be. He knows it really well that how to fool people by taking a huge star-cast and releasing his movie around a big festival. 1/10 for direction.
Performances: The movie is filled with tons of stars. But none of them makes an impact expect Johnny Lever and Prakash Raj. Ajay Devgn is one of my favorite actors in Bollywood, but in this movie even he seems helpless, trapped between poor story and no scope to perform. Another big disappointment was Tusshar Kapoor who also fails to create humor. Rest of the star cast just blindly followed whatever said to them. 2/10 for performances. One each for Johnny Lever and Prakash Raj.
Music: Music has nothing to do in the film. But still, it is OK and accompanied by a good choreography.
Cinematography: The ONLY thing that gave pleasure to my eyes was the terrific beauty of Ooty, which was well captured in this film. I had never thought Ooty to be so beautiful. This film has really created an urge in me to visit Ooty during my next vacation. 10/10 for cinematography.
The last verdict: Golmaal: the fun unlimited was awesome, Golmaal Returns was average, Golmaal 3 was poor and Golmaal Again is the worse thing you can see in a comedy movie. It is a complete waste of time and that time can be spent better somewhere else. If you really like people slapping others and making them bounce and spin here and there and you call it a comedy, you can go for it, otherwise, please go for Secret Superstar, it is a way better movie and a must watch.

Attention! Beware! Golmaal Again is not a movie. It is 3 hours long strategically placed ad break with the humour the size of a needle tip. I can't think of a single reason that can justify why this movie was even conceived in the first place.
Parineeti Chopra, Tabu, Ajay Devgn & Arshad Warsi fall flat in a script which has little to offer to their characters while Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Khema & Tushar Kapoor seem to be under Rohit Shetty Rozgaar Yojna which ensures that they get a movie once in a while to get their bank balance going. Even the talents of Sanjay Mishra and Johnny Lever have been wasted in this lacklustre comedy.
In reality, Golmaal Again's tagline 'Logic nahi only Magic', which is, by the way, repeated several times in the movie for no reason at all, makes you wonder how dumb do the directors think the audience is.

I never thought Golmal series will turn out like this worst. Truly speaking there isn't any rating to this movie. I just can't accept all crap things happening around without any reason. Director just gathered all actors to build this meaningless, time wasting, over hyped movie! Please actors read or listen the story properly before agreeing to any movie at least you can stop these kind of movies and give some peace to audience!! we really expect something for given money!!

Rohit Shetty has a different taste and direction towards humor. Sometimes it goes too much from level of humor to cheap.
Golmaal One was the best from the slot, with no high budget involved the movie humor was excellent. Especially Tusshar Kapoor acting only in part 1 was ultimate, while acting a mute he was really good. Something which is missing in the other parts where he is actually / literally speaking words.
coming back to this addition, it is having no sick jokes, the story line is amazing, the cast at times seem a bit over load but Rohit has done his best to adjust them all. Beside Ajay all know that these actor(s) single identity is not worth the money.
Movie, its story, the effects and all are way good then the last additions. No stupid songs, no stupid over imposed, nonsense action scenes. All in limit and all with fun. Especially the ending has been directed very well with the effects.

There are bad movies and then there are ones where people leave the theatres in interval. Golmaal Again is best left alone and rather not try going through excruciating pain of watching these mindless piece.
A comedy movie is as good as the amount of laughter it generates and this is the biggest problem of the movie. It has not got a single scene where any your funny bones will get tickle. The amount of fun and laughter has followed a decreasing trend with every movie of Golmaal franchise and this time Golmaal again has touched a new low.
The dialogues and scenes looked very childish and none of the jokes worked. Even the ghostly comedy plot didn't work being it very predictable and childish.
The writing and pathetic dialogues have made some good actors look bad especially Sanjay Mishra.
It is best to have some sleep in your home rather than going through horror of watching Golmaal again.

I don't know why name of Rohit Shetty is in hype. If you look at his carrier you might hardly find a movie which was great or at least watchable.
He simply makes banging sound now and then and a good actor like Ajay Devgan becomes puppet in his movie.
See dialogues, plot, story, songs of this movie, all are awful. And direction - pathetic.
Comedy scenes in this movie irritates you!! There are hardly 1 or 2 scenes where you would smile, that it. Rest of the time you would think "Why I came to watch this movie"
