I found this British film on Amazon Prime and was attracted to it as I remember watching Alma Cohan on black and white television when I was a young lad. A bit corny at the start it matures into a heart warming tender well acted experience. Really enjoyed it.

I booked my tickets online to see this movie in Norwich, I am biased a little as i live not to far from the film location. From the beginning i enjoyed the mood of this story. Actors and actresses all well known to British TV viewers were top class. The location was used perfectly. What a lovely film i heard from most of the cinema audience as they left the auditorium. I enjoyed all aspects of this movie. The story of the end of the pier theatre is not an easy subject but good writing and perfect editing gave it the edge it needed. Not forgetting the plot, what a imaginative script. Alma Cogan, who would have thought that her name would rise again. Such a good evening. Still singing her songs now,
