Plot

Jimmy is an environmentalist who finds comfort in animals. He is a strong believer in the existence of a beautiful mermaid due to bed time stories told by his mother throughout his childhood years. Despite being outcast by the other villagers, Jimmy's faith in the mermaid changed his life and his community.—Dr Shireen M Hashim

Duyung tells the tale of a young man named Jimmy who has this habit of taking care of the environment. He also has a weird habit which is not well received by the other villagers. Jimmy befriends Orix an apeman species. Quietly he developes this feeling for Aspalela the daughter of Tok Mudim the leader of the villager.
