Recently, ABC dropped the new,official synopsis/description for their upcoming "Scandal" episode 12 of season 5. The episode is entitled, "Wild Card," and it turns out that we're going to see some very interesting and drama-filled stuff go down as two, new mastermind plots get set up by Cyrus and Elizabeth North! We're also going to see Jake get the 3rd degree from Olivia about just what the hell does he intend to do, and more! In the new, 12th episode press release: While Fitz is preoccupied with his own interests, Cyrus will start to construct his next master plan, and Elizabeth North is going to use David to mastermind a plan of her own. In the meantime, Olivia is going to continue to question what exactly Jake is planning in his new role as head of the Nsa. The episode was written by Mark Fish, and it was directed by Allison Liddi Brown.

After the train wreck of the YouTube round, I for one, was totally stoked to see which familiar faces would be vying for redemption during the America's Got TalentWild Card round.

Horsman's steampunk set and the glass case that let us actually see what he was doing, was a huge improvement over his last performance. Howard Stern commented that the case, which steadily filled with concrete as Horsman worked toward his escape, added that "real sense of danger" that was missing in his previous escape.

Really, Howard? It was Stern's decision to invite the slapstick loving Horse back to the stage. Declaring "Cups are for cheaters!" Horse did more of what Horse does: get hit in the balls. Howie Mandel and I made the same look of disgust the entire time.

USA Network has made it official — drama pilots Over/Under and Wild Card will not be going forward. The pilots had been in limbo since they were screened by USA brass back in November. Over/Under, in particular, had strong supporters at USA, but its darker tones reportedly divided the network brass. The chances for both pilots got even dimmer when USA in January gave a straight-to-series, six-episode order to Greg Berlanti’s Political Animals, which will launch in the summer when USA would’ve premiered a newly picked-up drama. Wild Card, starring Jennifer Finnigan and Ben Lawson, and Over/Under, starring Steven Pasquale, were two of three drama pilots USA greenlighted back in November 2010. Last year, the network passed on the third pilot from that group, Eden. USA has two other pilots still in contention: an untitled drama from White Collar creator Jeff Eastin drama and a comedy starring Nathan Lane.

Jennifer Finnigan has joined the cast of USA's pilot Wild Card. The comedy drama, which also stars Ben Lawson, focuses on two very different lawyers who look after people misbehaving on nights out in Las Vegas. Finnigan has now signed up for the female lead, Deadline reports. She will play one of the lawyers on the show, Eliza Evans, while Lawson will appear as attorney Will Garratt. The back-from-the-dead "Fear Factor" will return to NBC with its original host, Joe Rogan. Still no word on when the show will debut, but Rogan is happy to be back on board: "The idea of sitting at home and watching someone else host it would have driven me crazy," he says. [TV Guide]

Reports of Mariska Hargitay's absence from "Law & Order: Svu" this season were apparently exaggerated. She's still cutting back to spend more time with her family, and the show will still feature two new detectives in Danny Pino and Kelli Giddish, but an NBC spokesperson says Hargitay will still appear in every episode. Jennifer Finnigan is leaving her monotonous Better With You married life in the past, in favor of some crazy Vegas antics as the star of Wild Card, a pilot for USA Network.

Per our sister site Deadline, Finnigan has landed the female lead in the procedural, which follows two Sin City lawyers as they solve the legal problems of its misbehaving inhabitants and visitors the morning after. The Deep End‘s Ben Lawson, who is currently recurring on Covert Affairs, co-stars as her legal counterpart.

Edi Gathegi ("Laurent" in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon) has just gotten himself a new leading role in Wild Card, a USA TV series about lawyers in Las Vegas who have to work the night shift.

According to IndieWire, Gathegi will portray an investigator who aids the two attorneys in getting their cases solved "before the sun comes up."

This is great news for Edi Gathegi! The series is expected to hit this fall.

Gretchen Egolf has been tapped for a lead role on the USA pilot Eden. The project, from Universal Cable Prods., centers on a young hotel worker (Nick D'Agosto) who, with the help of his escaped con artist cousin (Enver Gjokaj), gets a job as the concierge at an elite NYC hotel. Together they manage to provide the hotel guests with whatever they desire, Egolf, repped by Cornerstone and Gallant, will play  the Eden Hotel's striking Ivy League-educated General Manager.
