The director York-Fabian Raabe describes the fate of two brothers from a township in Africa in striking images. Connected by their hard childhood, they try to escape the misery of the slum by fleeing to Europe. "Between Heaven and Earth" reveals in powerful images a deeply human yet also political conflict that arouses and leaves its mark on us. We congratulate the director and are delighted to award the ARTE Prize to this outstanding film.
