Rising young actor Austin Abrams shared his experience working alongside legendary stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney in the hit Apple TV+ movie “Wolfs.” Abrams, known for roles in “Euphoria” and “Dash & Lily,” plays a key part as “Kid” in the crime thriller alongside Pitt and Clooney.
In a recent interview, Abrams said landing the role in “Wolfs” was a surprise. “It was something I never imagined could happen,” he explained. Both Pitt and Clooney have lengthy careers and are regarded as two of Hollywood’s top actors. Abrams recalled feeling doubtful during the audition, thinking “Why am I even trying out? I won’t get this part.”
Despite initial uncertainty, Abrams secured the role of “Kid” in “Wolfs.” The movie centers around two “lone wolf” fixers, resembling Pitt and Clooney’s characters, who are hired to cover up a crime in New York City. On set, Abrams found...

“Penelope,” a new TV series that premiered Tuesday on Netflix, follows the story of a 16-year-old girl who leaves her life behind to build a new one closer to nature.
The premise sounds like a parent’s worst nightmare. It likely would have been handled far more scandalously in other creative hands. But the new teen drama from Mark Duplass and Mel Eslyn, starring “Little Fires Everywhere” standout Megan Stott, makes a bolder statement about young life through its quieter approach.
“This show is about Penelope’s unraveling, and having that moment where she’s creating a new version of herself that she can look at and say, ‘This is totally me,’” Stott told TheWrap. “I want people to be able to watch and reflect on themselves and their lives, and find things that really help set that fire inside of them.”

Exclusive: Everyone’s favorite tabloid anomaly, Bat Boy, is poised to be the star of his own live-action TV series. Netflix is developing Bat Boy, a YA horror-comedy from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Joe Tracz, sources tell Deadline.
The character of Bat Boy — the half-bat, half-boy who became infamous for his cover stories in the supermarket publication Weekly World News in the ’90s — previously was brought to life in the Off-Broadway show Bat Boy: The Musical which premiered in Los Angeles in 1997. That stage production has no connection to the contemporary TV reimagination, we understand.
Reps for Netflix and Warner Bros.Television declined comment.

If there’s one upcoming MCU project that has been talked about in recent times, it’s ‘Thunderbolts.’ In September Kevin Feige announced that David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, and Olga Kurylenko would be reprising their roles as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Ava Starr/Ghost, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, John Walker/U.S. Agent, and Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, respectively, in the film. He also confirmed that Yelena Belova would be a part of the Thunderbolts team in the film.

Among the highly anticipated upcoming MCU projects, ‘Thunderbolts’ has been a frequent topic of discussion. In September, Kevin Feige revealed the return of David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, and Olga Kurylenko in their respective roles for the film. Additionally, Yelena Belova was confirmed as part of the Thunderbolts team.
Rumors then circulated about Steven Yeun playing Sentry, which was later confirmed. However, Yeun recently withdrew from the role due to scheduling conflicts resulting from the recently concluded SAG-AFTRA strike. Now, according to Daniel Richtman, a reliable source, Austin Abrams is reportedly being considered for the role of Sentry.

Regardless, Abrams bears a striking resemblance to the comic-accurate Sentry, particularly in his pre-Golden Sentry serum days, during his less-than-ideal moments.

The latest Blumhouse film, "Unseen," has a new trailer that just dropped, and it looks like a totally unique offering from the popular horror studio. While Blumhouse is best known for its scary good track record, which includes "Insidious," "The Invisible Man," and "Paranormal Activity," the production company's latest (which also comes via MGM+ and Paramount) is actually a thriller-comedy with a wild high-concept premise.
"Unseen" stars "WandaVision" and "Orange is the New Black" actress Jolene Purdy as Sam, a gas station clerk at a dead-end job at a place called Gator Galore, where her boss seems to be a bullying redneck and she's clearly not having a great time. Enter: Emily ("Dash & Lily" star Midori Francis), a woman who ends up needing Sam's help in a major — and majorly unexpected — way. Exclusive: Following a lengthy audition process, sources tell Deadline that Euphoria actor Austin Abrams has landed a coveted role in the untitled Apple Original Films pic starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt with Jon Watts writing, producing and directing. Amy Ryan also recently joined the cast.
While the film ultimately is a two-hander between Clooney and Pitt, the role Abrams met for is almost considered the third lead and became one of the more sought-after parts for any 20-something actor in town last winter given its star-making potential. Watts and Apple execs met with a number of individuals, which included watching dozens of taped auditions, and insiders say Abrams’ two tests ultimately blew the director and Apple away.

Ever since Barbie Ferreira announced she won't be reprising her role as Kat Hernandez in season three of "Euphoria," fans have been wondering what this means for Austin Abrams, who plays her ex-boyfriend Ethan Daley on the show. As of now, it looks like the 26-year-old is expecting to return for the third installment, though in what capacity remains unclear.
While speaking with The Nerds of Color in February, Abrams shared his hopes for the upcoming season. "Yeah, I got no idea. I don't know what is happening or going on," he said of season three. "I mean, I think [season two] for him has been a cool change and awakening. I feel like he's just becoming more of an adult now, just having more of a backbone and standing up for himself, which I think is super cool. But yeah, I got no idea. I mean, Sam [Levinson] always surprises me.

Maya Hawke, Camila Mendes, a Bougie with a capital B high school and two thirsts for vengeance complete the recipe for Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s latest film, “Do Revenge.”
Based broadly on Alfred Hitchcock’s “Strangers on a Train” (1951), “Do Revenge” sets a similar switched “getting back at” story in a younger scenario: the elite Rosehill Country Day high school full of entitled and wealthy students. If the story or cast doesn’t sound appealing, maybe the soundtrack will.
Fans of the work of Hitchcock and of Mendes in “Riverdale” or Hawke in “Stranger Things” as well as Austin Abrams’ work in “Euphoria” may be wondering how to watch “Do Revenge.” We’ve rounded up all the details below.

Why you won’t see ‘Heartstopper’ at the Primetime Emmys and where you’ll find it instead [Exclusive]
“Heartstopper” fans might have actual heart attacks on Thursday, June 16, when Primetime Emmy voting starts with the Netflix sleeper hit absent from the ballots. But worry not, the show hasn’t been dismissed from awards contention. It’ll simply be competing someplace else. Netflix told Gold Derby exclusively that they’re submitting the breakout teen dramedy to the Best Young Adult Series category at the Children’s and Family Emmys, where it will also be eligible for categories that recognize performers, writers, directors and crafts.
