Toraji is a yakuza debt collector and a yakuza trainer for his boss's son, and an apprentice of a rakugo storyteller Donbe. Ryuji, Donbe's son who runs a clothing store, is fed up with his employee Risa's eccentricities due to her bad luck with men.

Ryuji's brother Donta is a TV comedian, but he suffers from his lack of popularity among women. The boss heard that Hyuga broke up with his daughter and decided to marry a young woman, so he orders Toraji to ruin their wedding reception in anger. Toraji finds out the bride is a fan of Donta, and comes up with a good idea to settle things peacefully.

Toraji becomes a popular rakugo storyteller for playing funny stories based on events that have happened around him, but he has trouble memorizing classic rakugo stories. Ryuji is excited when a famous production manager assigns him to design a product for a big event.

Toraji is surprised to learn of his boss and Donbe used to be best friends in college, and they were both in love with the same girl. Now, she comes to Tokyo to attend a class reunion to find out which one of them gave her a love letter 30 years ago. Toraji, Ryuji and Ginjiro support her out of curiosity.

Toraji gets to know a Manzai comedy couple Marimo and Maruo coming from Osaka. Maruo has been sober because he was a violent drunk, but now he accidentally drinks and gets into trouble again. His wife Marimo gets help of people to see if he really loves her.

Donta and Ryuji think that Donkichi should get a girlfriend, so they have a blind dating party with Megumi's help. The woman Donkichi likes at the party is actually in debt and trying to get away from the debt collectors Toraji and Ginjiro.

Sayuri tells Toraji why Ryuji quit his career as a brilliant rakugo storyteller. Toraji considers how Ryuji can get his life back.

Ginjiro tries to find material evidence to scare the hell out of his father's enemy because he wants to be the son his father would be proud of.

A familiar gangster asks Toraji to help him due to betraying his boss.

The peaceful days come to an end for Toraji when Kaji begins hunting him to pay him back. His people try every way to protect him.

Three years have passed since the incident. Some things have changed, but some things will never change. It's busy at the Yose theater today as always.
