Title describes it perfectly. Really funny, hilarious Irish slang, if you're an American English speaker you'll likely have to watch with subtitles.

I'm a bit late to the HB party, only discovered this recently.. couldn't stop laughing, season 2 is my favourite for sure.
I'm from Glasgow and found the humour very similar to what we get at home.. anyway give it a bash!

Stumbled across this gem on Netflix. I'm from the UK and can just about understand them. Subtitles recommended!
The show is truly hilarious. Another review described "the Viper" as annoying but I really disagree. He's the character that we all know - a tragic moron who thinks he's the cock of the walk. The situations the Viper gets himself in are basically the only reason I watch this. Oh, and the gems from "salmon"

I don't know why this title came to me on Netflix, and none of my Irish mates do either. English is not my native language, and this accent certainly isn't even close. I don't what it is I love the most. Somehow, it is just so recognizable, wherever you're from. We all have, or have had, those friends, with their grandiose schemes and zero personal insight. It's like whatever decision is to be made, these lads will make the wrong one at every single turn. And this rivalry with Durkan's arch-enemy, Viper... You never know where the episode will lead to next, memories from my own past with this kind of group are brought forth. They are just so utterly useless, and still - so loveable. After all, when push comes to shove, it's all about having a craic. What more could we want from life?

This is an absolute gem of a show. I have been watching since it went on YouTube, if you have not seen some of the stuff only on YouTube I would highly recommend it. Mitzi turbos for life

Thank you, Netflix. Thank you for bringing this too us. This genius show was under "suggestions b/c I watch Trailer Park Boys" (big fan of that as well). I'm very happy they suggested this.
Since then, I've zipped through each season 3 times. It's turning into the new background show in our home.
Everything about this show is genius. The characters. Their life situation. Location. Friendship... and than they let those 4 things ride together and it's non-stop laughs. Very enjoyable and refreshing. Even the so called nemesis, "The Viper", is someone you even end up cheering for. You can tell these Hardy Bucks are real life friends and family by how genuine their performances feel. Eddie and Buzz lead the gang, and the laughs. Other characters you can't help but love, SimCard, Salmon, Uncle Mick, Boo and French Toast make up and ensemble that rivals the best tv show here in the U.S. It may sound like an exaggeration, but give it a go yourself. You may need the subtitles for a couple episodes till you get the hang of their lingo. I did. Ha. It helps you understand the "craic" and pick up on some I may have other wise missed. But soon you'll feel like you've known County Mayo and the Hardy Bucks your whole life. And it will be tough to stop watching.
I'm in my mid 30's. I've introduced the show to my friends that I've been friends with since HS and College - the ones I know who can relate to these friendships. Every one of them has told me they laugh the whole way through. You are truly missing out if you don't give it a try. At least through episode 4, the Hardy Bucks Xmas. Those 25 minutes make my all time, top 5 television episodes So enjoy the Hardy Bucks on Netflix. My friends and I have enjoyed them so much that I'm here on looking for more of their material. Haha. They have a movie on Amazon that is pretty solid. Not as good as the show. But fun and enjoyable. I read in was the all time highest grossing movie from Ireland. Also, they have some stuff on YouTube that led to their discovery. I just started watching those - so far, same result. So go experience the Hardy Bucks.

I am from the US, midwestern area and have no Irish roots or friends. Aside from needing to google the proper definition of 'craic' this show is pretty easy to understand (with subtitles but I have them on at all times anyway).
It is filmed similarly to and has the same dynamic as the Canadian show "Trailer Park Boys", but with its own unique characters, culture, story, and just overall attitude.
This show is absolutely hilarious and for me, relatable in all the crazy stupid shit the main characters get into. SADLY I see myself as such an Eddie Durkan!!!

I watched the initial webisodes on you tube and thought they were very good. I was skeptical of RTE taking over and thought the spontaneous improvise between Eddie and Buzz would have been curtailed. Maybe it was but none of the magic has been lost. This is most hilarious fresh humor to come from Irish comedy since Father Ted. The one liners, particularly from Buzz are gold. How they manage to do it with a straight face is a mystery. The ridiculousness of Chris Tordoff as the viper is a breath of fresh air. Great take on Irish rural life through the eyes of complete idiots who ooze charm. When you find yourself rooting for them you know you are being entertained with true escapism.
Great !

As a fan of Trailer Park Boys and Letter Kenny this show was recommended to me by friends. I honestly think it's so dumb and hard to understand. I watch with subtitles as I do with many shows but this is hard to handle. I felt like this whole show is a giant rip off of TPB but not half as funny. Trying to get through season one is mind numbing. I wouldn't recommend this unless maybe your from Ireland? Even then... From the harsh cut scenes with PowerPoint era slide slow transitions to middle aged men vomiting on themselves, lack of diverse characters and plot and overall poor production value. I couldn't even muster a chuckle. 2/10 would not recommend.

Mark Blank enjoy this outrageous Irish Comedy of sorts. Its Eddie and the band of village idiots out to get plastered and make a quick buck to go vacation in Ibiza, Spain. (That is their Disneyland that they all aspire to to meet chicks and get wasted, lol). The really funny part is that they're always looking for a quick buck when they all know that happiness and joy is found right here at home. Pax and Joy, Murf
Absolutely love this show. If you're not from around the British Isles then it probably won't translate fantastically well to even other English speaking countries but as it stands it's a very funny show with some fantastic characters.
The show suffers quite a bit in the story lines and direction of plots but it's just a brilliant gag-reel and the characters actually feel like real people.
And God bless Viper
