When Jordan Klepper signed on for a day embedded with a Georgia militia group, he was expecting to find answers to solving the problem of gun violence in America. What he got — at least at first — was a quick workout.
“It’s a fascinating experience to be a fly on the wall of a day of militia training. Something that we didn’t realize is that you forget how long a day it is. We arrived and did calisthenics for the first 30 minutes and it was just guys getting their heart rate going,” Klepper said in an interview with IndieWire.
It’s just one example of how Klepper and a team of writers uncovered some unexpected results over the six months that spent researching America’s complicated relationship to firearms. The result is “Jordan Klepper Solves Guns,” a one-hour special premiering Sunday night on Comedy Central.

Everyone knew “The President Show” was going to have to adapt to a rapidly evolving political landscape. For a show that, to some, seemed like a one-joke premise, each new week was going to bring with it a chance to cover yet another angle of the ongoing White House upheaval.
Four episodes in, Comedy Central has given the show a seven-episode renewal, taking the Anthony-Atamanuik-as-Donald-Trump-led talk show through to the end of the summer. And it couldn’t have come at a better time: “The President Show” just aired its best episode yet. (And, in regard to that “one-joke” argument, there are few other shows on TV right now that could get away with hiding a video of a decomposing fox in plain sight during its opening credits.)

H. Jon Benjamin is one of the most prolific voice actors working in TV today. As the central character on “Archer” and “Bob’s Burgers,” his growly baritone is as recognizable as it is an instant shot of personality for any character he voices. (Plus, how many actors can claim that their involvement in two shows led to a crossover scene that also doubles as a tribute to David Cronenberg’s “A History of Violence”?)
Six years ago, Benjamin added to his string of title characters, this time playing a fictional version of himself on the criminally short-lived Comedy Central show “Jon Benjamin Has a Van.” Part sketch show, part investigative news team parody, it helped give birth to a wave of comedian-led metashows that yielded some of the best comedies of the decade. It took the “Daily Show” correspondent model familiar to many of the network’s viewers and...

H. Jon Benjamin has achieved fame and glory because of his unique, commanding and versatile voice work, but the 49-year-old comedian doesn't necessarily think of himself as a "voice actor." In fact, he wouldn't even recommend people seek the profession out without other sources of income. Despite iconic roles — cult or otherwise — in "Dr. Katz," "Home Movies," "Wet Hot American Summer" and "Aqua Teen Hunger Force," to current series "Archer," "Bob's Burgers" and "Family Guy," plus a highly-anticipated reprisal in "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp," the Massachusetts native is still working toward having his own show. Benjamin co-created the animated comedy "Freak Show" with longtime friend David Cross in 2006 and landed in front of the camera for "Jon Benjamin Has a Van," but he's far from done. Benjamin came up in the comedy world with sketch actors, working with...

Even though a series called the Vice Guide to Parenting seems like a can't-miss virtual roadmap for child read, the most recent episode revealed that Jon Benjamin has been playing a prank on his son... for nine years.
The comedian is known for his practical jokes, but this one takes the cake (although the prank probably isn't real). Benjamin explains that he's been speaking to his son exclusively in a British accent since he was a small child, and his son has no idea that his dad isn't British.
"He likes sports like squash and cricket," says Judah Benjamin in the video. "And he calls an umbrella a 'bumbershoot.'"
Benjamin is known to blur the line between reality and scripted comedy. His last show to do this, the funny-but-canceled "Jon Benjamin Has a Van," can be seen in its entirety on Netflix Instant. He also stars as the voice...

Washington -- Now that the show is over, the van is going on the road. Star of "Jon Benjamin Has A Van," Jon Benjamin, along with Leo Allen and Nathan Fielder, are headed to the Black Cat Wednesday night.
The voice of Archer from "Archer" and Bob from "Bob's Burgers" and a bunch of other excellent Comedy Central and Adult Swim shows will be presenting his style of anti-comedy. A mixture of filmed pieces, some sketch and mostly stand up, there's a reason the show is being staged at a rock venue and not a comedy club.
The Huffington Post caught up with Benjamin right before he boarded a plane from Boston to D.C.
The Huffington Post:Tonight will be the second night of the tour.
Jon Benjamin: I'm already really exhausted.
HuffPost:Why are you doing the tour?
Benjamin: Sounds like you're trying to talk me out of it.

Comedy Central announced three new series starring Jeff Ross, Andy Daly and Nathan Fielder, the cable channel announced Thursday.
Ross, who is all but synonymous with the Comedy Central Roasts of such celebrities as Charlie Sheen and Donald Trump, will star in "The Burn," wherein Ross and fellow comics will riff on the week's subjects.
"My mission is clear," Ross said in an official statement. "To rip the world a new asshole one crack at a time. I can't wait to get started."
We hope that Ross continues to push the envelope on the show without network interference, as he typically does on his Roast appearances. To read more about his views on comedy's role in cultural discourse, read our interview with Ross in the inaugural post of our Crossing the Line series.

Exclusive: Music TV network Fuse has finalized a deal for a series order to half-hour series Funny or Die’s Billy On The Street, starring comedian Billy Eichner. On the series, set to premiere December 22 at 11 Pm, Eichner hits the streets of New York City to test pedestrians on their knowledge of pop culture in a fast-paced and comedic trivia-style game show. Funny Or Die’s president of production Mike Farah, Eichner and Krysia Plonka are executive producers. The project stems from Eichner’s viral “man on the street” videos (sample below), which he initially created for his live shows with the Upright Citizens Brigade. Funny Or Die originally made a video with Eichner last year to post on the site, but then the brass felt the video was a great concept for a TV show and pitched it out last spring. Pilot orders from six cable networks — including VH1, BBC America,...

ABC intends to keep playing with big red balls – Wipeout has been renewed for a fifth season, but with Vanessa Minnillo as the host. I still think the course should be an attraction at Disney.
For reasons that I can only imagine, the small town of Juzcar in Spain has been repainted Smurf blue in honor of the upcoming movie. Sony has promised to restore everything after the promotion, but from the images, I think it looks kind of neat.
There’s a rumor going around that girls are so into getting Justin Bieber’s used Underoos that when he takes them off, a security guard issues him a new pair and takes the used ones to an incinerator. It sounds like an episode of Dirty Jobs, except Mike Rowe wouldn’t even go there.
Five out authors including John Waters, Edmund White and Michael Cunningham name the best gay books in the world.

The voice of "Archer" is stepping in front of the camera to star in his own Comedy Central show, "Jon Benjamin Has A Van," which premieres tonight at 10:30 p.m. Et.
H. Jon Benjamin has made a name for himself in cartoon comedy, lending his vocal talents to some of the best animated series ever: "Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist," "Home Movies," "Archer," and "Bob's Burgers." Now he's taking the big leap in front of the camera in his own live action part-fake news, part-sketch comedy show. Jon Benjamin in real life looks nothing like the suave debonair spy Sterling Archer, nor the burger chef "Bob," but is instead a scruffy guy with a great smile, dry wit, and a microphone. In "Jon Benjamin Has A Van," Benjamin drives around (in a van, natch) foisting that microphone into fabricated-yet-funny scenarios loosely-based on a news format. Sort of "TMZ" means "Candid Camera" minus the big reveal.

In an interview with The New Yorker that ran in October 2001, a month after she died, renowned film critic Pauline Kael said: "I still don't look at movies twice. It's funny, I just feel I got it the first time. With music it's different. People respond so differently to the whole issue of seeing a movie many times. I'm astonished when I talk to really good critics, who know their stuff and will see a film eight or ten or twelve times. I don't see how they can do it without hating the movie. I would." That kind of brash commitment is typical of Kael, but though she was a fantastic critic, the sentiment's a remarkably myopic one. Many times, it's possible to see a film and know that you "got it the first time," but any critic can only ever bring their current experience, knowledge, and understanding to the...
