On October 18, 1961, the popular film actor Erik SCHUMANN (DARKNESS FELL ON GOTENHAFEN / OF COURSE THE CAR DRIVER) could be seen in a short crime film for SÜDDEUTSCHER RUNDFUNK.
SCHUMANN (1925-2007) plays the young accountant Harry Benson, who, like every week, is invited to dinner with his cousin (Dieter EPPLER) and his wife (Thessy KUHLS). On the way home, something unexpected happens: Harry is threatened by two men who are obviously doing everything they can to murder the innocent man...
A dark atmosphere, an extremely exciting plot that is pushed forward mercilessly! Here, West German television has created a small genre gem that is still worth seeing today because of its cinematic qualities. The acting and the rather banal ending are a little weaker, but 50 entertaining minutes of breathless tension are guaranteed.
A little know-it-all on the side: SÜDDEUTSCHE RUNDFUNK has long since merged with SÜDWESTFUNK to form today's SÜDWESTRUNDFUNK.
