Homecoming may be the best short film I've seen in a while. It was beautifully composed with superb editing. The story makes you feel like you are living the story with real life believable characters. The acting was simply amazing and developed the characters giving them their own personality. From the opening scene to the final play shoots are crisp, clear, and stunning. Scenery that gives the feeling of a small town fits the movie perfectly. It is presented brilliantly through flashbacks that are triggered by key points in the teams homecoming football game. Mike Dugan who plays Carl Conner the school's math teacher has nothing left but his daughter and one final season as the the football coach is put to the ultimate test. He must rally the team and get a winning season for the first team in a decade or face the end of his legendary football program. Conner also has to worry about the school's superintendent who seems persistent on Conner failing and the football team being disbanded after the season. Altogether Homecoming's success is because of Brendan Nagle who edited, starred, directed, produced, and wrote what has set the bar for all future short films to meet.
