The people from the bar use high proof alcoholic beverages to kill the alien bacteria. Yet when they pour these very flammable liquids on the burning pieces of the blown up sculpture the fires go out. The fires should have gotten bigger instead of being put out.
The Russian satellite destroyed during the first seconds of the film is named "Sputnik Witch Doctor Sosmo Phone Dertr", which makes no sense neither in Russian, nor in English.
After Jake and Ethan return from picking up "gutters", Jake tells him to get to work while he runs an errand. In the next scene, we see Ethan measuring and cutting 2x4s. Gutters are not made from 2x4s.
