Beyonce is nominated for multiple Grammys in 2025, but historically, she’s been shut out from the top awards on multiple occasions.
Her newest album Cowboy Carter is nominated for Album of the Year, but that is one Grammy she has never won. While fans are rooting for her, it’s more than likely that she’ll miss out again.
Understand, this is not a criticism. However, in the past, Beyonce has been favored to win Album of the Year at the Grammys multiple times, but she’s always come up short when the final award gets handed out.
In our humble opinion, Cowboy Carter is certainly deserving of the prize, but there’s definitely no saying whether she’ll get the award next year. And as we’ve learned time and time again this year, history has a way of repeating itself.

The 2025 Grammy nominations are here with Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Kendrick Lamar among the artists slated to compete for the biggest prizes next year.
Beyoncé, thanks to Cowboy Carter, led all nominees this year with 11, scoring looks not only in the three major categories — Song, Record, and Album of the Year — but four different genre categories: Country, Pop, Rap, and Americana. Her 11 nominations also made Beyoncé the most nominated artist in Grammy history with 99 (she previously shared the record, 88, with her husband, Jay-Z).

It’s a yee-haw for Beyoncé and Sabrina Carpenter at the Grammys.
Queen Bey’s latest album, Cowboy Carter, will compete for best country album while Carpenter — whose pop star breakthrough came with the release of her sixth album this year — will appear on the ballot for best new artist, according to a source.
The Recording Academy held its screening committee meeting last week, where members determined the categories in which albums or songs will compete, as well as who qualified for best new artist, where Carpenter is the frontrunner along with Chappell Roan. Over the years, the Academy has updated the rules for best new artist to keep up with the ever-changing music industry, and in the past it has been criticized because it placed a song and album limit, disqualifying certain performers.

Taylor Swift has set yet another milestone with her monumental win at the 2024 MTV VMAs, the event where Kanye West notoriously interrupted her acceptance speech for Best Female Video, insisting that Beyoncé was more deserving, in 2009.

Attention, all humans: singer-songwriter Beyoncé is watching House of the Dragon, HBO's Game of Thrones prequel show. She revealed as much to GQ, which asked her what in music and media is inspiring her right now. "The best movie I’ve seen this year is Inside Out 2," she said. "I think it’s brilliant, and I’m currently watching House of the Dragon and The Chi."
The Chi is a Showtime drama about a neighborhood on the South Side of the Chicago. And House of the Dragon, of course, is about a bunch of blonde-haired dragon-riders burning each other to death. The show's second season wrapped up last month, and we're not sure when exactly Beyoncé started watching or where she is in her journey.
I wish I had more to say about this revelation, but it kind of speaks for itself. Beyoncé did "Crazy in Love" and "Single Ladies" and "Texas Hold 'Em.

Despite revolutionizing the medium by introducing the concept of the visual album to the general public, Beyoncé notably did not create any music videos for either release in her ongoing Renaissance series (Renaissance and Cowboy Carter). Now, in a new interview, the Grammy-winning artist confirmed that fans shouldn’t be expecting to see new music videos from her any time soon.
“I thought it was important that during a time where all we see is visuals, that the world can focus on the voice,” she revealed to GQ. “The music is so rich in history and instrumentation. It takes months to digest, research, and understand. The music needed space to breathe on its own.”

After four seasons, Queen Latifah has established The Equalizer as a quality mainstay of epic entertainment proportions, but is that really that surprising?
It's Queen Latifah!
The Equalizer has certainly come a long way since it first premiered in 2021, but the show has only gotten better without ever losing sight of its source material or straying from the aspects of the series that make fans tune in every week.
While she could go back to her CIA days, Robyn prefers to balance her time as a badass vigilante in the Big Apple with being a cool mom to Delilah, her teenage daughter.
The show mixed things up over the first three seasons, especially by swapping out Chris Noth due to off-screen drama.

Terius Gesteelde-Diamant, a songwriter and producer for Beyoncé and Rihanna, has been sued for rape, sexual battery and sex trafficking by a former mentee.
In a lawsuit filed on Tuesday in California federal court, Chanaaz Mangroe accuses Gesteelde-Diamant (also known as The-Dream) of falsely promising to promote her career only to trap her in an “abusive, violent and manipulative relationship filled with physical assaults, violent sexual encounters, and horrific psychological manipulation.”
Gesteelde-Diamant has been behind a number of hits, including Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” and “Break My Soul,” Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake’s “Holy Grail,” Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body” and Justin Bieber’s debut single “Baby,” among others. This year, the eight-time Grammy winner was shortlisted for an Academy Award after writing an original song for the remake of The Color Purple. Billie Eilish may not have debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200 with her new album “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” but she still achieved some personal-best metrics. The album accumulated 339,000 equivalent album units, her highest total ever in a single week. Of those units, 191,000 came from traditional album sales, also her strongest result. And the lead single, “Lunch,” debuted at number-five on the Billboard Hot 100, the highest debut of her career yet. Given Eilish’s stellar track record in top Grammy categories, could we then see “Lunch” win her Record of the Year and Song of the Year again?
Eilish has already made history in both categories. She won Record of the Year in 2020 and 2021 for “Bad Guy” and “Everything I Wanted,” respectively, making her just the third artist to win that award in consecutive years; that feat had previously been achieved by Roberta Flack (“The First Time Ever I...

A decade into her solo career, Beyoncé effectively evaded irrelevancy by wresting control of her own narrative. After her 2011 album 4 failed to produce a Top 10 hit—to date, her only album to do so—the singer began dropping albums without any pre-release promotion, sidestepping chart expectations and reimagining the traditional pop album release strategy. Since then, she’s done few interviews and often glides into awards shows donning dark shades and a straight face, shrewdly creating a superstar mystique in the vein of Michael Jackson and Prince.
That approach, thankfully, has been accompanied by some of Beyoncé’s most creative, political, and inspired work to date. Her 2016 visual album Lemonade drew on her personal experiences as a Black woman to comment on feminism and racism in the Me Too and Black Lives Matter era, while its follow-up, 2022’s Renaissance, kept the focus squarely on the music, inspired by and dedicated...

Before joining The Walking Dead universe as Pearl Thorne in The Ones Who Live, Lesley-Ann Brandt starred in a variety of roles for TV and film. The South African actor is well-known for taking on projects in horror, fantasy, and other traditionally “nerdy” genres, having appeared in shows like Gotham, The Librarians, and most notably Lucifer.
With a variety of roles under her belt, here’s where else you’ve seen Lesley-Ann Brandt before.
Lucifer
As mentioned previously, Brandt is most known for her role as Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) right-hand Mazikeen in the hit TV series Lucifer. Mazikeen a.k.a. Maze is known for her fierce loyalty, though she sometimes struggles to adapt her brash nature to the human world. Brandt does a phenomenal job of portraying Maze’s growth from demon with a penchant for sadistic torture to a slightly more vulnerable and human demon with a penchant for sadistic torture.

If you’ve attended a mainstream country concert in the past decade, you’re probably familiar with the part of the set where the headliner sprinkles in a non-obvious cover from an adjacent genre like pop, R&b, or classic rock. It’s a move with any number of purposes: to show an artist’s range of influences, to reel in a drifting crowd with a massive hit, to appeal to a wider audience, or to highlight how fluid and arbitrary genre borders really are when you strip a song back to its essentials.

When hitmaking producer The-Dream got the call to write an original song for the remake of The Color Purple, he almost couldn’t do it. He was busy — busy with Beyoncé.

Destiny’s Child is one of the biggest, most influential R&b-pop girl groups of all time.
The legendary troupe first debuted in the late ‘90s, delivering hits like “No, No, No,” “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Say My Name” that sent them skyrocketing to superstardom in the music industry.
Throughout the years, the group experienced several member lineup shake-ups, before ultimately landing on their most well-known iteration, dubbed “DC3.” Together, the trio would release fun, empowering smashes like “Survivor,” “Bootylicious” and “Independent Woman Pt. 1.”
Since their last studio album in the mid ‘00s, Destiny Fulfilled, all of the members have gone on to embark on solo ventures expanding beyond music into acting, writing, presenting, and appearing as judges on popular reality TV shows.

This weekend sees an iconic figure of entertainment return to grace our movie theaters with the presence of their sheer awesomeness. But enough about John Woo returning to American theaters with his Christmas themed revenge tale Silent Night, we are also getting the Beyoncé concert film/ documentary Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé.
Coming off the success of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which has amassed a domestic record (for a concert film) $178.2 million comes the second concert film to be released directly by AMC Theaters, bypassing a major studio for its release.
Unlike The Eras Tour Movie, which was a straight up concert film, Renaissance is more of a hybrid concert film/ documentary, in the vein of Michael Jackson’s This Is It, that weaves together background footage of the tour with the actual concert. Unlike The Eras Tour Movie, which was a straight up concert film, Renaissance is more of a hybrid concert film/ documentary, in the vein of Michael Jackson’s This Is It, that weaves together background footage of the tour with the actual concert. Obviously the two closest comps for this title are Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour which...

Exclusive: So AMC’s second concert movie, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, hit tracking recently with a $20M opening projection. You’ll remember that the No. 1 circuit in the world, which is distributing the movie to other exhibitors through Variance (which also was tapped to handle AMC’s concert movie Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour) set a Dec. 1 release date. That’s a notoriously slow post-Thanksgiving frame for moviegoing.
Renaissance, which has more of documentary quality to it than Eras Tour, always was expected to debut in this range, so no surprise here. When the movie was announced, despite Beyoncé’s latest concert tour grossing close to $600M, per Live Nation back in August — the seventh-highest-grossing concert of all time, with wild estimates out there that the tour could rack up $2.4 billion — distribution sources have been figuring that the film would not post Eras Tour-type opening numbers. Moulin Rouge! The Musical has found its next Harold Zidler in Boy George, who’ll be making his long-awaited Broadway return from February 6th through May 12th, 2024.
Currently played by Tituss Burgess through next month, the character of Harold Zidler is the owner of the Moulin Rouge night club, also serving as the musical’s de facto emcee. Coincidentally, Boy George’s last time on Broadway — which was over 20 years ago — was Taboo, another musical about a night club.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical is directed by Alex Timbers with a book by John Logan, and is based on Baz Luhrmann’s eponymous 2001 film. It features a wide array of pop hits like “Single Ladies,” “Every Breath You Take,” and, of course, “Lady Marmalade,” which is all well-charted territory for Boy George, who rose to fame as the lead singer of the band Culture Club.

Upcoming live shows of comic YouTuber Colleen Ballinger, also known by her stage name Miranda Sings, have been canceled following allegations of inappropriate relationships with underage fans and dancing to “Single Ladies” in an old video wearing what some thought to be blackface.
Ballinger has denied the claims, singing in a video (while playing a ukulele), “A lot of people are saying some things about me that aren’t quite true. Doesn’t matter if it’s true, though, just as long as it’s entertaining to you, right?”
Regarding the old “Single Ladies” video, the YouTuber’s legal team has stated that Ballinger’s face was painted green because she previously had performed a song as a witch from the musical Wicked.

The album’s emotional song “Back to December” is rumored to have been about Swift and Lautner’s breakup after they dated for a few months in late 2009.
“I think it’s a great album,” Lautner said about Speak Now. “Yeah, I feel safe.”
But he didn’t stop there. The Twilight actor went a step further to joke that he was “praying for John,” likely referring to John Mayer, who is said to be the target of some of Swift’s less positive lyrics on the album,...

RuPaul’s Drag Race has entertained audiences around the world since its debut in 2009, and the series has only continued to explode all over the globe with international spin-offs. Every episode of Drag Race culminates in a lip sync battle between two (or more) queens to some beloved hit songs. But throughout all those years, Beyoncé songs were notably absent from the lip syncs. In recent years, however, Bey has become a more common lip sync artist.
Beyoncé | Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for The Recording Academy Beyoncé songs have become more common in recent years on ‘Drag Race’
Beyoncé has been a part of popular culture for over two decades, first as a member of Destiny’s Child and later as a solo star. But despite her worldwide fame and hallowed place in the LGBTQ community, Beyoncé songs were notably absent from RuPaul’s Drag Race for many years.

I have to say that last week’s episode of Ru Paul’s Drag Race was one of my personal favourites. I don’t know if it is the fact that I thought that I could have done better in the challenge than ninety per cent of the remaining competitors or that we saw the full scale of success (from queens absolutely nailing it to very obviously struggling) or a combination of the two but I think this was one of the better hour-long episodes! The queens were grouped together to complete a series of interviews with some of TV’s most eccentric personalities and saw Sasha Colby excel after throwing her queue cards in the air during an interview with the queen of the “cuchi cuchi” Charo! On the bottom end of the competition however, we saw Malaysia Babydoll Foxx and Selina Estities battle it out to the iconic “Single Ladies...

Beyoncé‘s “Halo” was co-written by a rock star. He penned lyrics for the bridge of the song. Subsequently, Queen B decided to take the song in another direction.
Beyoncé | Kevin Winter / Staff Beyoncé’s ‘Halo’ was written because Queen B was a huge fan of a OneRepublic song
Ryan Tedder is the lead singer of the pop-rock band OneRepublic. He wrote songs for other artists, including Lil Nas X’s “Thats What I Want,” the Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker,” and Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love.”
During a 2020 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Tedder discussed the origin of “Halo.” Beyoncé was a fan of OneRepublic’s song “Come Home” and she asked Tedder to write a similar song for her. Subsequently, he hurt his heel and had to get surgery to fix it.
“I had not written a song in probably two months at this point, I called my friend Evan Bogart and said,...

By the end of episode 10 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 15 on March 3, Salina EsTitties found herself lip synching for her life for the third time. This week she was pitted against Malaysia Babydoll Foxx in the ultimate Beyoncé-off to “Single Ladies.” Aside from the Lalaparuza in episode 9, this was Malaysia’s first time lip synching for the judges, but once again they favored Salina in the Lsfyl and Malaysia was sent packing.
We asked in a recent poll if Malaysia was the right queen to “sashay away” and a majority of fans think that the judges did in fact get it right. 42% of fans polled believe that Malaysia was the queen most deserving of elimination compared to the 34% that thought Salina would have been the right one to go. Salina earned a majority of votes in our episode 9 poll, but this week she evaded the chop despite her prior...

This week she was pitted against Malaysia Babydoll Foxx in the ultimate Beyoncé-off to “Single Ladies.” Once again the judges favored Salina in the Lsfyl and Malaysia was sent packing. Vote in our poll below to tell us if the judges made the right choice.
Salina went in to this week’s celebrity interview challenge thinking that it would finally be her chance to shine and possibly score a win. Unfortunately her sit-down interview with Love Connie got the best of her. During critiques the judges pointed out that Salina wasn’t patient enough with Connie and interjected or spoke over her too often.
Malaysia hosted a segment with Frankie Grande where she was supposed to make pizza with him, but her nerves got the best of her.

Loosey Laduca may be the official punching bag of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15, but after processing the results of Friday’s episode, I’d like to direct my attention to a far more deserving queen.
Episode 10 transformed the remaining contestants into TV news hosts, putting them face-to-face with (and occasionally against) three dynamic celebrity personalities — flamenco queen Charo, Ariana’s brother Frankie Grande, and the incomparable Love Connie. (Side note: Did you know Connie played the “Bend and snap? Works every time!” guy in Legally Blonde? Because I sure didn’t!)

Al Roker and Deborah Roberts made the BeyHive proud on Sunday (February 5) night as they celebrated Beyoncé‘s history-making moment of becoming the all-time winningest Grammy artist. The Today show weathercaster and his wife, who works as a journalist for ABC, took to Instagram on Sunday after Beyoncé won her first award of the night for Best R&b Song. The couple paid tribute to Queen Bey by dancing to the song that won her the award, “Cuff It,” from her latest album Renaissance. “Congratulations to @beyonce for her first @recordingacademy of the night, tying for most ever Grammys won. We apologize for this tribute,” Roker captioned the post. Roberts took the lead while Roker slowly spun in his office chair and clapped along to his wife’s choreography. And this was just the reaction to Beyoncé’s first win of the night; one can only wonder how much crazier...

Harry Styles and Lizzo split the biggest spoils as Beyoncé made history — but went home empty-handed in the major categories yet again — at the 65th Grammy Awards Sunday night.
Styles won the biggest prize of the night — Album of the Year — for Harry’s House, besting heavy favorites Beyoncé and Adele. Lizzo took home Record of the Year for “Special,” and in the most surprising win of the night, Bonnie Raitt won Song of the Year for “Just Like That.” The winner of the other major category, Best New Artist,...
