Hyun Young is a comedienne with a distinct voice and this movie is built around her amusing persona. She plays a bumbling journalist who gets involved with a cop played by Lee Dong Wook. He acts well, he has always had comic timing and they make this show funny and enjoyable. They proceed to take down some drug dealers amidst the shady night life scene. The action sequences look quite convincing. Some of the cops and criminals look similar so you need to concentrate when they go undercover. Look out for some familiar supporting character actors and actresses.
This is a 2007 movie so some things feel and look a bit dated and the scenery looks old fashioned but it is quite entertaining still.

For an action/comedy/romance in the Korean cinema, then "The Perfect Couple" (aka "Choi-gang lo-maen-seu") failed to stand out from so many other movies in the genre. That being said, I am not saying that it is bad movie, it was just plain and quite generic, mediocre if you will.
The concept idea of the story was alright. A police officer suffering from an odd phobia bumps into a journalist whom seems to have a lot of bad luck, and his life changes instantly.
While the story idea was alright, the movie just lacked moments where you would be laughing. They simply weren't there! I laughed once, and it was when a supporting character was hit by a Molotov cocktail. In a movie like this it is crucial that there is comedy with the main characters. But director Jeong-Woo Kim just failed to deliver.
The lead actress portraying the journalist carried the movie pretty much all by herself, as the male lead actor just lacked on-screen charisma and wasn't particularly good at acting.
"The Perfect Couple" failed to impress or make a lasting impression. You are better off spending your money and time elsewhere. It is also one of those movies, should you watch it, that you will watch once and never again.

It's an excellent movie with comedy and cute scenes of journalist and cop. Movie started with explaining the phobia of cop, how he has become cop inspite of that and then the cute and funny banters with journalist, how they solve the drug case very interestingly. Lee Dong Wook looks so dashing in a cop role and very cute at the same time, cop's temper and journalist's childish nature is very cute.. In love with Lee Dong Wook's looks. Last 20 minutes of movie, I watched it in loop. It's such a cute scenes, I really want to watch Lee Dong Wook in cop roles more and more.. Overall, I really liked the movie, i recommend to watch this especially Dong Wook's fans.

Awesome Movie. Excellent Acting. The journalist and the cop are Excellent team workers, and their banter is funny. The singing was horrible, though, but I loved the confidence.
What else can I say without giving away the storyline? It's definitely worth the watch. I have been enjoying watching K dramas since I was introduced to them on Netflix. So far, my number one favorite actor in k dramas is Lee Dong Wook. He brings the shows to life-an outstanding actor. You can feel the emotions from the screen. It feels real even though it isn't.
I am enjoying watching his work on the Kococawa app and Viki.
