The big-budget project, which is currently filming in Croatia, is the English-language adaptation of one of Michael Ende’s most beloved fantasy novels. The prequel series “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” at Starz is rounding out its cast with six new additions.

As previously announced, the series will explore the lives of Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine), and Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy).

With its list of new releases for June 2023, Prime is bringing a handful of Amazon Originals and many recent movie hits to the fold.

It’s actually quite a busy month for non-American programming in Amazon Originals department. Shows and movies like Deadloch, My Fault, and Medellín all originate from outside the U.S. and U.K. For the American and British crowd, however, the streamer is debuting two big tentpoles.

Irish producer James Flynn of Metropolitan Films, whose credits include the Bafta and Oscar-nominated The Banshees Of Inisherin, has died aged 57 following an illness.

Flynn founded production company Metropolitan Films in 1997 with his wife Juanita Wilson, and had credits through the company on titles including Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel and hit romantic comedies P.S. I Love You and Love Rosie.

His death was first reported in The Irish Times.

Although Emily Cooper has made it her missions to take selfies in every corner of Paris in “Emily in Paris,” star Lily Collins doesn’t have as many Parisian recommendations as you would think.

“I don’t have as much free time as I wish that I had to explore,” Collins told The New York Times in a recent interview. “I’m constantly discovering new places and asking for people’s lists because I like the non-tourist spots.”

Despite already filming three seasons in Paris — with the Season 3 finale making a splash in a drama-filled finale — Collins says she still gets excited about shooting in the historic city when she sees the classic Parisian landmarks.

Phillip Noyce is to direct the true-crime love story “Peggy Jo,” starring “Baby Driver” and “Yesterday” actress Lily James. The film is loosely based on the true-story of the life of Texan Peggy Jo Tallas, who takes to robbing banks while posing as a man. Adapted for the screen by “Appaloosa” writer Robert Knott the film will be shot on location in Southern U.S.

“Peggy Jo” is produced by Simon Brooks through his L.A.-based production entity Canyon Creek Films; Brooks previously produced “Love, Rosie,” and executive produced “White Noise.” HanWay Films has picked up international sales rights, and will introduce the project to the buyers at the Cannes Virtual Market. UTA Independent Film Group is handling the U.S. sale.

Alcon Entertainment has acquired the film rights to “Postscript,” a sequel to the 2003 romance novel “P.S. I Love You” that was adapted into a feature film in 2007 starring Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank, the company’s co-founders and co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson announced Tuesday.

The follow-up novel from author Cecelia Ahern was published in the UK this past September via HarperCollins and is releasing in the Us on Tuesday via Grand Central Publishing.

Alcon produced the 2007 film directed by Richard Lagravenese and it will co-finance and co-produce “Postscript,” along with Black Label Media. Johnson and Kosove will serve as producers, as will Molly Smith and Trent and Thad Luckinbill for Black Label.

No cast has been set for the follow-up feature.

Jason Isaacs, Steven Berkoff and a host of other new names have signed on for “Creation Stories,” the film being exec-produced by Danny Boyle about Creation Records co-founder Alan McGee. The producers also unveiled the first shots of Ewen Bremner (“Trainspotting”) as the music mogul.

Production is underway on the Irvine Welsh-penned project, with “Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels” star Nick Moran (“Telstar: The Story of Joe Meek”) helming. Well-known British actors and comics including Ed Byrne, Paul Kaye, Thomas Turgoose, Rufus Jones, Perry Benson and Mel Raido appear in the film.

The new names join the previously announced Suki Waterhouse and Bremner in the feature. Leo Flanagan (“Hanna”) will play a younger version of the label boss, in his feature film debut.

The Constantin Film rom-com, which is based on the 2005 novel “Where Rainbows End” by Cecelia Ahern, chronicles twelve years in the friendship/potential romance between Rosie (Lily Collins) and Alex (Sam Claflin), two best friends who have been inseparable since they were five-year-olds. The Film Arcade and Paramount Home Media Distribution have acquired Contantin Film’s romantic comedy Love, Rosie. Film Arcade will distribute the film theatrically in the U.S. with Paramount Home Media handling all other platforms domestically. Release dates are tentatively scheduled for early 2015. There’s a fine line between friendship and romance, and in the new trailer for Love, Rosie, Alex (Sam Claflin) and Rosie (Lily Collins) are all but dancing on it.

Based on Cecelia Ahern’s 2004 novel Where Rainbows End, the film follows Alex and Rosie, two best friends who meet at the age of 5 and, over the course of their lives, journey from being inseparable to being separated by an entire ocean. Is "Love, Rosie" the sort of British answer to "Knocked Up"? Maybe on the surface. The promo arrives on the heels of two introductory videos - focusing on lead characters Alex and Rosie - which debuted in April.

The romantic comedy sees the pair play Alex and Rosie, two best friends who plan to move to the Us together to attend university. The pair's lives change dramatically over the course of the next 12 years but they're still able to preserve their friendship.
