Very much liberating, this is another teen movie, but with more gadgets! The Bojinov's movie applies some nice to an annoying all-ages comedy of product placement, phone jokes, and daddy issues. I suppose this went down easily enough for our girls because they grew up with this kind of stuff, and can surrender to it as a kind of cinematic comfort zone. But still horror as like movie from Sam Raimi. In trying to reinvent the lazy female modern woman, the filmmakers have lost track of the comedic tone that has helped these simple, gag-driven stories endure for decades. A curious new comedy attempt giving to our girls an origin story and then asking they to do things a galaxy away from what she does in the funny pages. Admirations to all cast and crew..!?
