In one episode a character is drinking an Alien X themed smoothie. He describes the drink as being disappointing and tasting like filler. This is a reference to the fan reception to Alien X's sole appearance in the prior series, Ben 10: Alien Force.
Unlike the first two series,Ben uses Ultimatrix which has the power to bring out ultimate forms of his transformation, the power which his Omnitrix didn't have
