I was disappointed with the movie because I thought Sara would finally get her punishment. How can a teenager get away with so much evil acts. The movie was unrealistic because the people who knew waited for her to continue to kill and not do anything even though they knew what she was capable of doing. I watched both movies and for her to continue her killing, was a little bit far fetched. It only showed that evil over powers the good. I don't think I will watch the next sequel if there is one because it showed a poor storyline. Let's hope in real life this would not happen because it would really be sad to know how easy it is for teenagers to do evil acts.

No one can say that the original Bad Seed (1956) is not a riveting psychological horror/thriller. Watching a mother slowly realize that she is raising a straight up psychopath is nothing short of horrific. Great film.
The Bad Seed (2018) is a watered down version of the classic with the twist of a father learning these truths about his daughter. It's an average watch because it just didn't bring anything fresh enough to give it a je ne sais quoi to make it very appealing. Also, its hard to measure up this father/nefarious daughter film with Orphan (2009) being similar but setting a much higher standard.
I was interested to see where they would take the storyline with an older McKenna (even though I would've preferred seeing an older version of Rhoda from the '56 film). True to deranged form, McKenna doesn't fail to be an uncomfortable person to watch.
She's still a shrewd egotist and masterful at hiding her darker side. We watch a few of her schemes turn into close calls and missed opportunities but the movie falls flat in terms of payoff. However, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a third film on the horizon.
It was 'meh'. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. It was just a middle of the week, night on the couch watch for me. If they make a 3rd film, I'll watch it just to satisfy a slim curiosity.

First of all, don't be put off by it being a Lifetime movie, if they start making all their movies this good, camera work, script, locations and acting, their reputation for movies will skyrocket. Worth a watch, and so glad I wasn't put off by it being a Lifetime movie.
It's on par with quality films releases by Netflix or Prime, a lot of talented people involved in the acting through to bystanders and small details.
The protagonist did remind me of Britney Spears' Baby one more time.
Ignore bad reviews who compare it to the 1950s movie, it's 2022 now and stands on its own as a film. Try it, or watch the first one with the same actress in first, from 2018.

10 points for Ella Dixon great acting, she looks like a diamond in the rough. She brings out the most of her character, creating some mystery with her body expression.
But the plot of the movie is too simple, too predictive and there is 0 suspense or something to make you think after the end.
The characters in general seem naive, their decisions and acts in front of tragic facts are very unreal.
Frankly, the thing I really liked is Ella Dixon's performance, that manages to give her character a bit of depth, since the plot doesn't give us much.
I enjoyed watching the movie, but I don't think it's one I'll watch again after a while.

Do not waste your time with watching this movie... I never wrote reviews here, but now I must, because I'm looking on that as on my obligation for the other people... Just pass this awful movie. Bad script, bad direction, very bad acting and terrible music about psychopath teenage girl who wanna to execute everyone in her life, without any feeling's, but she's are very stupid and script are on the level of elementary school... On the other hand, without any further goals or motives for that what this girl doing, like some kind of fun, but with very bad acting and thus isn't thriller or horror, neither drama, this is a stupid teenage comedy, by my opinion...
From me ZERO of 10, but zero isn't possible, because this movie doesn't deserve a better rating score here...

Perfect movie - the first one and this. I'm giving it a 10 because I know people who think they are badass critics will criticize this somehow as they always do. But it does deserve a 10 for what it is. A lifetime movie. If you have high expectations - please go watch a marvel movie!
The story line was good, clearly similar to the original as it should be. Good music too. I think that was almost the best part. Acting also on point from all the cast.
She is also talented for writing and producing herself too - I've seen it on her Instagram. Lovely actress with a bright future.
Give it a watch if you are having a relaxing day in watching movies or simply if you watched the first movie, you will be pleased.

I have watched my fair share of horrible thriller/horror movies but this is by far the worst (or best at being horrible?). The writing and logic can be likened to what I would've created as an 8 year old.
A bunch of unfortunate coincidences happening around a certain girl does not raise eyebrows? Maybe her blonde hair gave her plot armor because she's invincible without reason
Imagine this: a girl suspects someone to be a serial killer but get this... she willingly go to her house to talk about boys over hot chocolate? I think the appropriate genre for this is comedy because it's actually hilarious to watch how stupid the writers can get with this disastrous film.
Hope the next movie is even more terrible so I can watch my new favorite comedy.

Completely waste movie. If you like to watch it, suggesting you to see some movie reviews not the entire movie. Same plot as first. Expected she will get the punishment finally. But totally waste of watching. Still the girl kills everyone and escape from everything. I think whoever it is not good to watch such boring films.
Same plot as first. Waste of time. The writers want to make money by making a big series of this film by extending the climax. Not worth watching at all. First time feeling a movie such a piece of trash.
Completely trash. Waste movie. Maybe they have thought they can make us interesting by making the bad person be alive always. But when you seethe first part, u will get irritated that she is not dead yet. Still same thing happened in the second movie. You get more and more irritated. Not worth of watching such a trash.

I think this girl McKenna is going places, good acting. The reason I only gave it a 7 is because this movie drags out. The movie would have been much better if it had been shortened quite a bit, lots of the scenes were just to slow, and numerous scenes could have been eliminated. It's kind of a shame, because this could have been a real blockbuster if they just did better editing, shortening it, maybe putting in some better action scenes. I don't think you can compare this to this original bad seed movie made in 56, that was a great movie based on that time frame. Sometimes the movie producers just don't get it, a movie isn't a better movie because it's a long movie. This is the case here.
Secret psychopath Emma Grossman (Mckenna Grace) is now living with her aunt Angela's family. Kat is the new girl at her high school who comes from her old life. Kat suspects Emma for all the deaths. Of course, Emma has not changed and cannot change.
Mckenna Grace is almost an A-lister at this point, or Lifetime wouldn't continue this franchise. I don't think that she should continue this thing anyways. This reminds me of Macaulay Culkin doing The Good Son. It is always tough to have a villain as the lead character who has anti-rooting interest. I'm wondering if we should be following Kat instead.

This movie was better than the first one for me due to some reasons. Music being the first of them. The music in this movie was perfectly fitting for the genre and not many movies out there had nailed it like this one.
And it's kinda funny to read the comments of people who has criticized this telling she didn't get what she deserved and similar to the first movie and stuff like that. First of all its not that she just kills in both movies it's how she gets away with them. And not every movie is supposed have a happy and calm ending (if you want that kind of movies you should stick to marvel and Disney as they are critic friendly).
So considering all these facts it's up to the person whether they really like the movie or mot. Sure this isn't meant for everybody but it's not advisable to stupidly criticize movies just because you expected a totally different thing to happen.
If you liked the first one, you'll most probably love this even more so surely give it a try.

It's great. The film skillfully portrays Emma's evolution, creating a complex, chilling protagonist whose manipulative nature captivates audiences. The strong performances, particularly from the young lead, add authenticity and emotional weight. The narrative's tight pacing and clever twists keep viewers engaged, while the cinematography enhances the eerie atmosphere. Additionally, the film's exploration of nature versus nurture deepens its thematic richness, making it a thought-provoking and thrilling continuation of the classic story. Plus. I've rewatched it 5 times because of how well made this movie is.
