So I just saw this thing. And it was pretty good.
The animation is wonderfull and so is the color palette . The plots for for each episode are strange, but creative and different. Characters are stereotypical, but i cant really imagine it working otherwise. The jokes, although aren't very often funny, they still work in theory. It's also important to know that the show doesn't use being black as a punchline. Instead, the blackness of its cast uses as an explanation to all possible questions.
This show is not masterpiece, but it's still great and worth watching.
It's a crime that no-one has written a review for the animated series!
Keeping it simple - if you enjoyed the live action film of Black Dynamite and found it amusing then you'll love the animated series. A lot of the cast return to give their voices to the characters that were created in the film.
With animation you have the freedom to do anything and the creators use this freedom so well! I'm only 4 episodes in but so far the takes on real life celebrities of the 70's (Michael Jackson, Richard Pryor, O J Simpson) is absolutely hilarious. Incorporating such icons into a manic mickey taking episode is fantastic. The writers are on fire for the gags and stories so far.
If you enjoyed and laughed your ass off at Black Dynamite the movie, you'll do exactly the same with the animated series. It's adult humour all the way.

One of my favorite shows on the Adult Swim Lineup; the series has some of the best animation (which I believe compliments the 70's style era very well) and hilarious dialog (again, with that 70's flavor. Can you dig it?).
I'll have to rent the live action movie one of these days but I enjoy re-watching the season one episodes. I'm very excited that the series has been renewed for a second season! Its epic, all of it is epic; Michael Jai White is EPIC!
My top 3 Adult Swim shows: 1. Black Dynamite 2. Venture Brothers 3. China Illinois

Black Dynamite is pure hilarity. I agree that if you liked the movie, you will love the animated series. It's well written and beautifully drawn for a captivating and gut busting series. From an artist's standpoint, the dynamic angles and figures and bold color tones and lines instantly satisfy you visually. The characters are perfect and each fit their roles nicely. A sense of humor is required though. If you're uptight and can't laugh in the face of racism, than don't bother watching the series. Its satire engulfs how foolish stereotypes are and incorporates celebrity guests to add to each episode's flare. Hands down an awesome series that literally makes me lol every time. Can't wait to see more!

This show is an exaggeration of black culture in the 70's, which was notoriously misogynistic and homophobic. The writers aren't going to rewrite history so certain groups don't get offended. It quite literally is indiscriminate in its offensiveness, and everybody's balls get busted at one point or another. If you can't handle that, watch a different show. This show has incredibly vibrant and aesthetically pleasing animation, its an interesting and fresh take on the blaxploitation genre, and is easily one of the funniest and most ridiculous shows I've ever seen.
Yes, I know. It's a 10 year old show but I cannot stop watching it.
In between of the 70's pop culture with its darkness, filthy streets, the martial arts, drugs and prostitution they mixed all of these together just for the simple "why not?, it's funny, exaggerated and gives you a sense of epic.
Of course, feminists are going to hate it, SJW and others will complain about it, but they forget one important fact: it's a bloody cartoon. Period.
Perhaps those people should stop their hypocrisy and realise that imagination is what brings out the best of comedy. Comedy is like words: simple and honest and it cannot be censored by some groups who think that social justice as well as political correctness have the right to stop freedom of speech.
People, this is a tremendous tv show and I would encourage everyone to watch it. Just sit down, laugh about the animation and the crazy stories/adventures and remember: it's a cartoon. Don't be an idiot and relax, there are more serious problems in the world than a cartoon posing as a threat.....like feminism and their friends who will do their best to prove their point, including burning buildings, schools, churches, etc.
Watch it! is not for kids but it will make you want more and more.

The series is written so well with jokes/cultural references firing faster than Black Dynamites machine gun. This is a masterclass in Blacksploitation, taking the genre to its ultimate climax.

First off, I LOVE the movie. One of the funniest things ive ever watched. This is terrible though. Boring, rehashed plots (Black Jaws, Black Warriors etc.) The joke is... They're black. They take every popular black joke or pop culture reference, from the history of black comedy and pound it into the ground a million times (Im Rick James B***h (LOLOLOLOL), Everything Richard Pryor ever said, Michael Jackson used to be black LOLOLO). Not funny. Not original.

Michael Jai White is an underrated actor who no doubt should have played Luke Cage and still could a Luke Cage in my opinion.
Black dynamite and so-called black based and karate show that is non-stop fun and immature content. This was one of the greatest shows. It features many known actors doing voice work as well staring MJW the Kung fu master.
It also features Cedric Yarbrough, know as the infamous DuBois from Boondocks.
BD is no doubt one of the greatest, action, fighting, adult show of all-time but because its so-called "black" it doesn't get the popularity it deserves.

This would be a laugh out loud and imaginative show were it not for the constant, insulting, degrading treatment of women. Every woman is either "bitch", "ho", or just an old woman and still called a gender insulting name. You wanna curse? Fukkit. Go 'head. You wanna poke fun? Be my guest - but make it even. I'm tired of a small group of slovenly men ruining what good be great for everyone. If it weren't for that, I'd give this show a solid nine, maybe even ten. The puns and word play and twisting of pop culture are outstanding. Take anything from your childhood and watch this show twist it into hilarity. Cherished popstars aren't safe either (nor should they be really). This could be a really great show but as it is you have to turn off a part of your brain (the one that says all genders and sexual orientations are human too and deserve respect). That's really disappointing. And it's certainly not dynamite.
