- The protagonists, JohnColeman and Roxanna Peakssen, discover the family history of time-travel from their grandfather, who tells them to use the old local steam train, Steamy, to travel the time-vortex. Unfortunately, Steamy is to be broken up for scrap very soon, if the land deed cannot be found in time, because a global corporation wants to build there. Grandfather says the deed has been lost in history and asks the kids' help in finding it. They travel on Steamy and visit compelling young historic characters from 1700 to 1939. Each time travel adventure holds a clue as to the location of the missing land deed. While on their time-travels, friends in the present day Rusty Bucket Kids Club help thwart those who want to discover the time-travel vortex for their own evil purposes. If the deed is not found in time, Steamy and the time-travel vortex could be lost forever.
