“The Office” star Oscar Nuñez will appear in the upcoming Peacock spinoff series.

Nuñez will reprise his beloved role as Oscar Martinez in the new mockumentary series, which is set in the same universe as “The Office,” an individual with knowledge told TheWrap, though additional details about the storyline involving Nuñez are being kept under wraps.

It’s unknown how heavily Nuñez will be featured in the new series, but he joins the ensemble cast alongside “About Time” star Domhnall Gleeson and “The White Lotus” Season 2 breakout Sabrina Impacciatore. Cape Fear is based on John D. MacDonald’s novel The Executioners — which inspired the 1962 feature of the same name directed by J. Lee Thompson from storyboards devised by original director Alfred Hitchcock — and the 1991 remake directed by Scorsese.

Apple has lined up a second A-list name for its Cape Fear series.

Amy Adams will star opposite Javier Bardem in the thriller, which counts Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese — who teamed for a 1991 remake of the original 1962 film — among its executive producers. Adams will also be an EP.

As with the two films (and the John D. MacDonald novel The Executioners that served as their source material), the Cape Fear series will follow the events when a killer, Max Cady (Bardem), is released from prison and begins to harass the couple he deems responsible for his sentence, married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden. Disney's Enchanted, a beloved classic with 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, is an excellent movie to watch this holiday season. Enchanted has stellar songs, a star-studded cast, and a compelling narrative. Although Enchanted's Giselle is not an official Disney Princess, she is still widely beloved and one of the best unofficial Disney Princesses.

Exclusive: Laughing Dragon Studios recently grabbed a skateboard for a Tony Hawk toon, and now the Canadian production house has switched focus to the festive season.

The company has unveiled Christmas series Coal, which is due to drop in December 2025. Shaftesbury is signed up for international distribution, with Muse Distribution handling Quebec. The Shaw Rocket Fund and Telefilm have provided funding.

The three-part special will follow Ethan Bishop, an eight-year-old boy navigating a difficult time in his life that lands him on Santa’s naughty list. In response, Santa implements ‘Plan C,’ sending a legendary Lump of Coal to guide Ethan on a “ho-ho-hilarious journey.” Through a series of positive and negative experiences with the coal, Ethan discovers a life-altering artistic talent.

Cast includes Lucinda Davis as Ethan alongside Zariah Ellis (Blue’s Clues & You), Briauna James, Ralph Prosper, Mara Lazaris, Eric Davis and Bruce Dinsmore as Santa Claus.

Laughing Dragon is billing it as a “playful 2D animated series, complete with specialized magical charcoal-style sequences” for kids aged 6-10, and is planning it as an “festive tradition that can be cherished year after year.”

Guillaume Chassé (Curious George, F Is for Family) is directing and René Veilleux from Vérité Entertainment oversaw the voice direction and casting. Astride Noel and Christopher Bernard are the writers. Laughing Dragon CEO Ryan Sohmer (Kabu, Disenchanted) is the executive producer.

Amy Adams will star in At the Sea, the latest drama from Kornél Mundruczó, the Hungarian filmmaker behind acclaimed films Pieces of a Woman and White God.

Sea reteams Mundruczó with Kata Wéber, his frequent collaborator who wrote Pieces of a Woman and White God and penned the script for the latest feature.

Producing the drama are Ar Content’s Alexander Rodnyansky (Loveless), Ryder Picture Company’s Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett (Dumb Money, Arrival), Hammerstone Studios’ Alex Lebovici (Barbarian) and Jon Oakes (Drive). Stuart Manashil and Viktória Petrányi, who produced Pieces of a Woman, are also producing along with Mundruczó.

Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.

Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things), Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.

The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions.

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

The legendary skateboard champion has teamed with Montreal’s Laughing Dragon Studios to develop Skatebirds, an animated TV series aimed at kids aged 6-11.

The series, inspired by Hawk’s ‘Birdman’ nickname, will aim to “celebrate skateboarding’s playful community while emphasising its adventurous nature,” producers say.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jack Reacher’s Alan Ritchson are to co-star in a Christmas movie for Amazon/MGM called The Man With The Bag.

Of all the films Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in across his long career, 1996’s Jingle All The Way was undoubtedly one of them. And, almost 30 years on from that festive comedy, it’s announced that the Austrian Oak is making another Christmas film, this time for Amazon MGM Studios.

It’s called The Man With The Bag, and according to The Hollywood Reporter’s plot summary, sees Santa Claus on the hunt from his stolen, enchanted bag. This leads Santa to “team up with Vance, a reformed thief and denizen of the naughty list” to find it, with Vance’s daughter and a “team of misfit elves” also taken along for the adventure.

Adam Shankman is directing the family Christmas comedy that will see Schwarzenegger star alongside Alan Ritchson, whose involvement was previously announced. Allan Rice wrote the script for the movie that counts Ritchson, Lawrence Grey, Ben Everard, Reg Tigerman and Dan Spilo as producers.

The Man With the Bag centers on Santa Claus learning that his magic bag has been swiped, leading Old St. Nick to team up with Vance, a reformed thief and denizen of the naughty list, to get it back. The duo also enlist Vance’s daughter and a team of misfit elves to help them save Christmas.

The trailer was released Wednesday for the thriller that features Keaton as director and star. The movie centers on Keaton as a hit man diagnosed with dementia who learns that his estranged son (James Marsden) needs help after committing a violent crime.

“I’ve never asked you for anything in my life,” Marsden says in the footage. “But I’m desperate.”

Later, Keaton acknowledges the reality of his deteriorating health: “It’s like a curtain coming down. I’m running out of time.”
