- A miser bequeaths his property to his two destitute nephews, provided they within a month marry girls who are well mannered, high family, beautiful and young (22-24 age) issue-less divorcees, divorced within 2 months of marriage.
- A Miser bequeaths his sizeable property to his two destitute nephews (Anup Kumar and Samarjit), but with a condition. They have to marry within a month girls who are beautiful, well mannered, of same (and high) caste, from good family, 22-24 age bracket and divorcee. In addition they must have divorced within two months of marriage and should be issue-less. With all these perfect properties, it would be next to impossible to get two girls, unless there had been a complete misalliance. The two dance to the manipulations of the family advocate (Niranjan Ray?), his wife (Basanti Chatterjee?) and their friends Lili Chakraborty and her fiancee Ajoy Ganguli. They try to fix it up with two of their friends, sisters Juin and Samita. They are all of that, except they aren't divorcees, in fact they are not even married. With Jahar Roy (Anup's guru) and Robi Ghosh adding to the confusion. The movie could have been excellent, except that the reason why the two girls agreed to play along (before getting attracted) isn't convincing. Nor is their going ahead with the affair, even after finding that the two boys, were ready to run away leaving the girls behind, when faced with danger. Very good as comedy, but with these two flaws removed it would have been an excellent movie.—S Basu
