The 2010 Maui Film Festival, which runs from June 16-20 at the Wailea Resort and the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului, will honor Zac Efron and producer/director Taylor Steele and include appearances by Malin Akerman, Justin Chambers and Josh Radnor.
More than 40 film screenings and events are scheduled. "This year's line-up encapsulates the festival's mission to showcase life-affirming and compassionate filmmakers and their films," festival director Barry Rivers said.
Efron is set to receive the fest's Shining Star Award, recognizing a film performer whose career is on the rise. Steele will be given the Beacon Award, and he will present his latest film "Castles in the Sky."
Justin Chambers will screen the world premiere of the comedy short "The Happiest Man Alive," in which he stars; Dan Byrd will unveil "Norman," in which he plays the title role; and Josh Radnor and Malin Akerman from "Happythankyoumoreplease" will also be in attendance.
